    Pork belly & Lumpia
    Chloe J.

My boyfriend(who's Filipino) and I went here on valentines for breakfast. The lovely owners, also husband and wife were so nice and the food (BBQ chicken, Porkbelly, and lumpia) was amazing, we almost went back the next day just for more lumpia. Must try spot!! (I never write reviews)

We also had the Bicol Express, which was spicy and simple. There is plenty of street parking plus extra parking in the back. I also like that they sell small grocery items inside the restaurant. The service is not as friendly as I remember from the Elmwood Park days, but the food still makes up for it. I'll always stay loyal to Mama Fina's. It is very casual. - Pork Sisig (5/5): some of the best Sisig I've had. The pork belly is SO crispy even after we were almost done eating! The sauce wasn't too overpowering and heavy. Loved the fresh zing of the red onions. The spicy one is the way to go. - Garlic Fried Rice (4.5/5): I could eat this on its own. So good. The rice was a bit mushy but otherwise great taste - Kare-kare (4/5): a soupier variation of the peanut based sauce I've tried. The oxtail chunks were tender, but all sliced really thin and very few pieces of each. Also lacking a bit in the green beans and okra- flavor was good though. I like the Sisig the best. Only a bit bummed by the high price and small portion sizes

It arrived at 4:47 PM, but the hot chocolate was missing. The Uber driver confirmed it wasn't included and advised me to call the restaurant. When I called, the person who answered confirmed the hot chocolate had been left behind. I was told they couldn't refund my card but that I could stop by later or the next day to get my money back. I agreed. The next day, when I returned, two female employees were kind and willing to reimburse me. However, a male cook came to the front and spoke to me in a nasty, disrespectful, and aggressive manner, claiming I had already received the drink and that nothing should be given since it was from the previous day. His tone was unnecessary and made me feel intimidated, especially since he was holding a kitchen tool. One of the employees even offered to pay me out of her own pocket, which I refused. I didn't want her money -- I just wanted the missing item. Thankfully, another employee handled it honestly and gave me the hot chocolate. Mistakes happen, but how staff treat customers matters. I hope management addresses this behavior, because loyal customers shouldn't be treated this way.

I really enjoyed my cheese empanada; husband like the cheese but not so much the chicken. I enjoyed the lottle green sauce; vinegary. The pinkish sauce, not so great, very mayo-like. I got the vanilla shake; had a nice reminder of rompope. My husband got the coco shake; that was nice and tasty. My son got a fresh lemonade, it was refreshing. My son also got the chorizo, and it came with a small piece of arepa. Maybe for a quick fix, I would recommend.

Once you sit down you scan a QR Code to order your food and drinks. I was pretty hungry that day so we ended up ordering a ton of food. The drinks were pretty good and they were served in Le Creuset mugs. Not the biggest deal, but I can appreciate some nice drinkware. The bowl of Kimchi Fried rice came out first. It was a generous portion and the rice was cooked well, but I feel like it could've used some more kimchi. The eggs on top were cooked perfectly and added good texture to the dish. The next dish to come out was the HK French toast. The bread was nice and fluffy which paired well with a nice generous drizzle of condensed milk. I enjoyed this a lot. We also ordered scallion pancake, pork barbecue, and bossam baos. These were ok, I would probably pass on a return visit. I felt like the meat in the baos was a little tough though they did have decent flavor. The last entree was the smoked salmon and avocado croissant; I really enjoyed this. It had a generous helping of smoked salmon and avocado as well. The saltiness of the salmon paired well with the creamy and fatty avocado. The croissant was also nice and flaky. It was also served with a house salad which had a nice drizzle of dressing on it too. For dessert we ordered a Black Sesame Souffle Pancake. This was SO good. A few months ago I visited a place in Princeton that specialized in these Japanese-style pancakes and Tasty Junction's version was so much more enjoyable. I loved that it was served with a healthy scoop of ice cream. The pancake was airy and had a bounce to it. Each bite was so good and made even better with the ice cream. I'd definitely come back just for the pancakes. All in all Tasty Junction is a great spot tucked away in Glen Rock
