During my most recent visit, I asked Hannah if she was one of the owners. Her knowledge of every stone, every style, care of the stones and alternatives when necessary. Hannah knows where every single stone is located in the large, clean showroom (also second to none) and every sample. Hannah's personality was very kind, warm and welcoming and when my kitchen is done, I hope she will visit in person to see how beautiful her vision was. She cared as much as I did that every detail was perfect and every question I had was answered, patiently and without pressure. It's a super sweet spot to select slabs of granite, quartz, and tile backsplash, with a lot of variety. I really appreciate that they're open later on Thursdays, as my husband works until 5 in Dearborn and we live an hour away or more during rush hour time. I work weekends so we weren't really able to get here together any other time. I'm not sure if this is normal, but there were only two people on the floor in the evening, so I kept hearing "It'll be just a minute/few minutes" from Ajay and Lisa. My husband was also told that the slabs were 'sister slabs' and they didn't want to pull it so we could see the second 'sister', but he insisted, especially with the amount of money that we are spending! (Natural stone = never completely identical. It actually had flaws in it that my husband actually liked more!) Just a heads up, nobody under 12 is allowed in the back where the slabs are, and you're going to be wearing a hard hat. These slabs weigh up to like 1200 lbs! The only way this place could be better is if they had sugar free sweetener options for the coffee. Everything else was pretty smooth sailing. read more

My wife and I tagged a countertop slab. We are all set for installation by our fabricator when we were called by MSI and told that our slab was given to another fabricator. We were told that the slab would be returned. However, when we returned to MSI to confirm the slab again I was told that the slab would not be recovered but we could look at another slab. The slabs we looked at were clearly not the same as the one we had originally chosen. Our communication with the company was unsatisfactory. When we walked in last week, we were met with literal eye rolls from staff. We were there for 45 min and at no point did any staff leave their personal conversations, and laughing at the desk, to ask if we needed help. The staff was not working they were just having personal conversations... three of them.... And not one person ever asked if we needed help. The only interaction we had with them was when they rolled their eyes upon us walking in. It was shameful to say the least, and we left and went elsewhere and at that point were treated with the dignity we deserved and that MSI refused to give. read more

MSI is a fantastic place to pick out granite or quartz counter tops. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. The building is very organized and safety conscious. By far better than other places I have been to. They even have small carts to push around your door/floor/back splash samples so you don't have to carry them! I think that's a fantastic touch because it can get tiresome lugging all of those down rows. They are a distributor so you also have to have a fabricator, I use Granite City in Livonia. My only suggestion is to have full slabs of quartz out in the granite area or quartz showroom for easy viewing, right now you have to ask a worker to take you to the quartz area because that's where the work is happening so they are very safety conscious when you're there. Or you can view small samples of quartz in their quartz showroom. read more

We had an interesting experience picking out countertop on February 8, 2018 right after the final measurements of our cabinets and it's good that we did. The granite that we picked out at the Home Depot was not the granite that we chose in the warehouse. We had a little wait after logging into the facility before we were given our hard hats and pointed in the general direction of the granite that we selected. It was interesting to look at all the sparkling and gleaming slabs of granite and marble, especially all the ones outside of our price point. We selected our slab and waited and waited and waited for the young woman who took us into the showroom, said she would be right back, and we never saw her again. Finally another woman saw us waiting asked if she could help and she ended up finishing the order for us. We were told it would be about two weeks. Excellent, we left feeling pretty positive (even though I was wondering if the original young lady had been fired before we could place our order). I know that kitchen renovations take a long time, but when we were told that it would be two weeks, it was my understanding that the countertop would be finished in two weeks, not that they would start thinking about cutting the damn (sorry) thing in two weeks. It was over four weeks when the countertop was finally installed (over 3 months since we started our kitchen project) from the day that we chose our countertop. Why not just say it's going to be four weeks due to a backlog of orders, lack of qualified stone cutters in Michigan, etc. Lie to me, I won't know. Just tell me up front. That being said, the stone we picked out is beautiful and I really love it. It's very well cut, the corners are shaped perfectly, it glistens and gleams in the sun. I love the Azul Platino - mostly white and black with mica bits that shine gold, silver and copper. We made a good decision. Home Depot might need to re-think their business relationship with MSI. If I was to rate on the granite product, it would be a 5 star. If it was to rate on customer service, it would be a 1.5 to a 2 star. Thus, the 3 star recommendation is the best that I can do. read more

It's like walking through a museum of art work. I almost forgot I was there to select the granite. They have a good selection of granite. The best person there is Ajay. She was soo helpful and accommodating. The guidance through the process by her was needed for this novice. Through her showing me the different aspects and what to look for in a granite slab, I feel I can truly help others. The other sales person were super rude and made my fiancé uncomfortable about staying. I believe it was because I was black and she is not white. Fortunately Ajay saw my plight and helped. My contractor cut the first slab wrong so I had to buy another, and Ajay stayed after their 5pm closing and made the guys pull the slabs so I could view. As well as processed my order; where the other sales associates were either running out of the door or watching. The business has a lot of selections, so go for the products and ask for Ajay and wait for her to assist you. Otherwise, if you are a novice or not with your builder or interior designer you may be writing a bad review. I bought and paid for a granite countertop through Home Depot, I was told by Home Depot to come here to pick out my slab. I used their touch screen to check in. A woman walked me to the back told me to put on a hard hat, she didn't wear one, and left me in the back by their Quartz slabs and Granite slabs. A man walked up to me, not wearing a hard had, asked me what do you need? I told him I was picking out my slab of granite, Azul Patino. He pointed to an aisle of granite and walked away. No more help! I found 3 slabs, ABC, stacked forward on each other, I could only see the front of slab A, no way to see the other two slabs or the back of slab A. I then could only give them the choice of slab A, all I had access to was the one side of slab A, I could not see the back of slab A. When I complained about this, the woman said their crane was broke and didn't know when it would be available. This is a rip off to customers. I will not use Home Depot or MSI again. The customers have no choices, no help, and can't really see what they are picking out. Bad experience! read more

MSI is the place to go for granite. After selecting our counter top at Home Depot we visited MSI to pick out our slab of granite. AJ was fantastic. After placing our order at Home Depot, we were instructed by our contractor to go to this company to pick out a slab for our kitchen counters. The location is about an hour away from where we live and is not convenient to get to during the week. When we arrived on Saturday, May 6th a little after 12pm, we were greeted and shown to the show room by Tim. After looking through all the choices, we tried finding Tim again so he could continue helping us, but could not find him. Another person (he did not introduce himself) helped us by writing down the number on a slab in the stack that was 4 back from the one on display. We did not get to see this one. When we asked about being able to look at the exact one, the person said that the product has "low variation" and it would not be different from the one in front. We explained that we wanted to pick out our exact slab, and the person again stated that they would all be the same. He rushed us up to the front desk where we would check out. We were greeted again by Tim and another rep, Rafael, and again explained our concern about not being able to see the exact slab we would get. Again, Rafael explained the low variation to us, but we specifically asked to be shown the one the rep wrote down. Rafael stated that they do not pull slabs on Saturday because of "how busy they are". No one told us (and it is not on your website that we would not be able to pick out our exact one when we went there on a Saturday. Rafael offered to take a picture of the one the other rep had wrote down and would not send it in until we confirmed it was ok. He stated he would send it to us on the first day he was back at the show room on Tuesday (5/9). We told him that was what we wanted to do. On Tuesday, we received no email from Rafael or anyone else from this company with a picture of our slab. I emailed Rafael after hours on Tuesday to check to see if he was working on getting us a picture. Rafael responded back on Wednesday (5/10) (verbatim) "The slab you viewed was sent out Tuesday. I still have the rest of the bundle, however I believe the fabricator will only need the one slab." No other comments, apology or attempt to make it right. We sent an email back (5/11) about how they did not follow our wishes. I don't believe we were asking for anything unreasonable - to actually see the exact product that would be installed in our home, whether the color was the same throughout or not. The general lack of understanding our concern for what we wanted is very frustrating and we did not feel like the show room reps (Rafael and "un-named" rep) took our concern seriously. The fact that the rep did not follow our wishes and sent the product right to our contractor to get cut shows a lack of respect for us and our wishes. No attempt has been made to date to make it right by your company to date. We will not be using your company or recommending you for any future projects. read more

I bought $13000.00 worth of quartz for my kitchen from them. They wanted a review from me as they were standing there watching me fill it out and offering me a Starbucks card. Come on! I asked the girl who showed us the quartz slabs if they were filled and she said no. After I had the fist counter installed I noticed a lot of spots that were obviously dull due to being filled. Sadly they sit on a large area next to my sink. They did not show at any point due to the slab being on its side. When you lay it down flat it shows for sure. If you fill your stone then say so, and show me where it is so I can place it appropriately! Don't lie about it. My granite cutter and I had a falling out about this and it really was not his fault. Tens of thousands of dollars for this kitchen addition and these "Professionals" mess up a piece of it. They are very slow when you go in as described in other reviews. Also, they really don't like pulling slabs so that you can see them. Odd since that is a pretty important part of selling them. read more

While their selection I'm sure is wonderful their customer service stinks! I went in to look at samples for my kitchen remodel, I was lead to the warehouse, given a hard hat, pointed in the direction of what I was looking for then left for dead! I wasn't given any assistance and even though the cs rep said she'd come back and show me more she never did. After 30 minutes I walked out of the warehouse, thinking maybe it got busy in the showroom (it hadn't, there was only 1 other couple in there) all 3 cs reps were just sitting at the desk talking and eating. I had enough so I walked out. I understand this company does not sell to the public but if you're going to have cs reps at least train them how to be polite and deliver quality service. read more
