Out of the 5 people I came in contact with the total score out of 5 was a 4.2. Highest score was a 5 and the lowest was a 3. All of them were friendly and nice. The reason I decided on allowing this company to do the job was they were able to install next day. What did I hate the most about the install, the late start and the excessive amount of breaks. So much so another company here to install something, mentioned it. "I did not take off marks for that." It was just the worst part of the install. The best thing I loved about the installation is the color of the LVP. A better choice than the other companies I received quotes from. ----- I hate the pricing model from all of the companies. I'd like to see that I was charged the same as the people before me, apples to apples, prices are listed so I can see for myself. ($8+ a sq foot for 420 sq ft and there is no flooring to move. Compare it to the rest of the flooring that was done that included 21 steps. Rooms were bigger and there was carpet, and tack strips to take up. Plus, they already had the product on the truck, per installer. My fear, and I believe it happened. 1st sale was to get the job and the second was to make up the difference from the first sale. I felt I was stuck between a rock and a hard place. I loved the color and the reason they didn't get a score of 5 , I just wanted it over. Even though I knew $8+ was on the high side of competitive while telling me you're giving me a deal. Only y'all know if you lied. Since I'm not presented with a price sheet. I hate the, today it's 5, tomorrow it's 2 and next week it's 10. Whatever your head decides it is. You feel robbed while they're smiling in your face. Not once did someone mention the 60% installation, why, cause there's no such thing. Vent over! At the end of the day, I love the color and, install, the people were friendly and my salesman was Great!! He was knowledgeable of the product and delivered what he promised. read more

My experience was with John Thirkill who put down LVT throughout my home and messed it up so badly without so much as a sorry. If he's still working at Dalton Flooring, I would warn you he's a scammer by design, I mean it's his nature to screw you over. In order to fix what he messed up I'd have to move everything out of my home for a week so the floor can be torn up, and everything done properly. He's a real S.O.B. in my eyes! If he'd have put down the vapor barrier all vinyl tiles need, as in the information of the tiles I have, I'd not be so bitter towards him. So just be aware he's not what he tries to be, but he is what he is. Just a total POS. read more

These people are clowns. Went in, piked out flooring. Put a substantial deposit. Paid the balance, couldn't find my original receipt. Asked about delivery. The guy waiting on me knew nothing about it. Had to call twice to find out when my flooring was in. When they delivered it, the guy in the van said he wasn't allowed to touch it and had a bad back. ??? My husband and I unloaded it, while the guy stood with his finger up his you know what. I have used Dalton Flooring three different times and they have always exceeded my expectations. Yesterday I walked in and was greeted with a handshake and a smile by the kindest man named John, or "Big John" as he said. He was funny, personable, and totally to the point. Which I LOVE! He came to our home to do measurements. He not only took his time, but spent time with my 14 year old son (Who loves math) and walked him through the process of how he measures and the process of laying down carpet. In this day in age where customer service is far and few between this man went above and beyond. A little kindness is what this world needs and John his doing this. Thanks man! After visiting every flooring store and big box store in the area we visited Dalton, based on all the great reviews. We were debating on refinishing our hardwood floors or doing some sort of luxury vinyl. We also needed carpets done. This place is a one stop shop. Sam (the owner) was fantastic to work with and we were able to get everything scheduled for the following 2 weeks (floor refinishing one week, carpet the next). Rather then wait 6-8 weeks from all the other places and have our house in disarray for a long time, it's was really quick! Our hardwood floors look brand new, we love the color they turned out. And the carpet is a world of difference from our old carpet. Very happy with everything! The 4 installers/workers were great also! Hard to find good workers these days and Dalton's went above and beyond. We are now looking into vinyl plank for the other areas of our house we didn't do, bathrooms and garage hallway. Will be back to Dalton for that as well when the time comes! Highly recommend using them for any flooring needs. Before and after photos. Went from yellow floors to espresso. And from plain boring cheap carpet to the plush grayish, (so comfortable to lay on)! Completely changes the look and feel of the house. read more

This place reminds me of... a low-key carpet hookup warehouse. The gentlemen working behind the counter were in their "saturday afternoon hangout" clothes and one of the first things we were asked about were measurements. Wait, can we talk about types of carpet first, look at colors, DECIDE 1. what we want and 2. if we want it from there? We told him in 101 ways *exaggeration that we did not know any measurements and he lead us past the swatch/sample books to this open warehouse carpet roll graveyard. That is not how we shop for carpet. As a matter of fact, we were asked if we've ever shopped for carpet before. Um, yes. But not this way. We led ourselves to the books and found what we were looking for. I was quickly over my visit there, so I had detached myself from the visit. My mom was simply trying to price compare from the place we'd just left. Decent pricing for Shaw carpeting, which is a name we trust (besides everything else seeming sketchy, they did have reputable brands, too). We did find out that for them to come to your home and measure, we'd be charged separately...unlike the first place we went to. Needless to say, we will not be using this company for our carpet purchase. read more

So I noticed this place tends to respond to bad reviews with "we have no record of you as a customer" but believe me, I am an unfortunate customer. It all started back in January when my wife and I went into the store to look at flooring. My wife fell in love with one of the display samples. We talked with the salesman John and that is where I started to wish that I would have just walked out the door. I had to hear how he has sold so much flooring and how much money he has made like I was supposed to be impressed or that I cared. I tried to give my wife a subtle hint of we should keep looking elsewhere but she isn't real receptive to hints. I knew whatever they had there could easily be found somewhere else and that is exactly where I wanted to look. To keep my wife happy I bought her $2600 dollars of flooring and trim pieces. They tried so hard to talk me into having them install it but there was no way that was happening. I had to pay up front for the flooring which is suspect because any repetable store would want payment on delivery. At this point I was reluctantly hooked. I tried to tell my wife after we left that this is going to turn into a huge mistake. I had no idea how right I was going to be. First they were supposed to call once the flooring came in. I had to call multiple times. They couldn't find my paperwork so it made it even harder. One time I came in and they had to make a copy of my receipt because they keep such good records. I went in another night and my salesman was working and looked in the back. My flooring was finally in but there was a pallet of flooring for another customer on top of it. They claimed they couldn't give me my flooring because their hilo driver left for the night. Are you serious? I was told to come back on a certain day and the hilo driver would be there to load me up. I came back when i was told to and had my flooring loaded in the back of the truck. I asked for my trim pieces and they couldn't find any. This place is a well oiled machine believe you me. Well we have to order it again, blah, blah, blah. I called a few times and no one seemed to know anything about it. Then Covid happened. Now I am completely understanding about what has happened during the pandemic. The planet more or less came to a complete stop. But months after, when things started moving again I called once again and no trim pieces. I wanting to say this was around June or July. Its going to take time because shipping is so slow right now I was told. Well if you would have ordered them when you were supposed to then we wouldn't even be having this discussion. I called multiple more times and I was told it's going to take time or they didn't know anything about it. I gave up and told my wife that she wanted the floor from them then she deals with it. We are now in October and she is calling and they are promising that when the trim comes in that they will Fed Ex it to the house. Someone will call the next day with a tracking number. Guess what? If you said no one called then you are right. Reluctantly they finally shipped trim pieces. We were godsmacked when they actually came. Then I opened them and they look nothing like the floor. I am just done. I can't deal with such incompetence. Keep this cautionary tale in mind if you are looking for flooring. There are so many other places out there to have to put up with this kind of service. I will go get flooring from Ollie's before I ever go back there. I can only imagine what their replies will be to try to disprove or playdown my review. Just be cautious. read more
