Perfect Floors - Flooring! - Flooring Near Me - South Lyon, Michigan

GOOD JOB! We had Perfect Floors install LVT (luxury vinyl tile) in our laundryroom. They successfully went over our 30-year old linoleum that had seen better days. The installer, Drew, arrived on time, was respectful of our home and didn't damage anything. For a half day's work in a small space he had a lot of details to contend with (removal and replacement of quarter round molding, moving the dryer out and back and removing and reinstalling the bifold closet doors. We are pleased with the work and the new floor looks fabulous! read more

Always great service with a huge variety of options! Highly recommend to all friends and family read more

I had the Perfect Floor do the entire basement with commercial grade carpet and the pad. The end results were... Finished carpet work was excellent, installation speed was satisfactory, carpet readiness (manufacturing) not so good, and communication was on the poor side (one sided = PF to me, not the other way around). I basically gave the PF four stars based on the finished work. The process to get it done was another story. But at the same time, I did realize after the whole process, that the carpet job was not as easy as it appeared. Prior to this experience, I had very unrealistic expectations. (I thought carpet can be ready and be installed easily and very quickly...) Here is what I observed, and I hope this helps others to make a decision whether or not to go with the PF in South Lyon. First, there are several set of crews to take part in the project. First, the PF (store). Second is the estimator (measures area and draws diagram). Third is the manufacturer of the carpet. The last is the installer. The (PF) store. You must be willing to travel to the store if you want to speak to someone. I tried calling the store in several occasions (trying to connect via an operator), but no one picked up the call. It was painful at times, but if you're willing to do so, it's not so bad. If you expect to have an excellent communication and get things done remotely all the time, it could be extremely frustrating. Make sure you know your sales guy's business hours (& day). So that you don't waste your trip. The estimator. The guy I had to work with lived away from SL. It meant he wasn't readily available. I had to have several phone conversations to nail down the date & time for him to perform his work. It was a bit disappointing that he wasn't local, and he wasn't as cooperative and enthusiastic as the sales guy. There was a time gap of maybe a week or so to get this job done, which I was initially thinking that it should be done in a day or two. Communication was also one sided. The carpet manufacturer. It took them several weeks to manufacture 15' wide carpet (supposedly standard size but not as common) The installation was postponed twice because the carpet wasn't ready/manufactured yet. It was very frustrating, and at one point, I really regretted to go with the PF, but turned out that the 15' wide carpet was the right way to go because of the seam location. The installer. They showed up around 10:30am. Finished work around 9pm. I felt bad because I did the basement work, and there were many (I mean "many") corners. They did warn me before they started work that the seam could potentially be visible due to the commercial grade (thin) carpet, which was not explained by the PF. At the end, it turned out okay (no visible seam). I give the crew (of two) kudos as they did excellent job. Make sure the floor is completely open, in other words, there should be no items/furnitures on the floor. I think me having quite bit of furnitures had a lot to do with how long it took them to finish their job. All in all, if a potential customer understands (tolerates) the whole process, how long the project takes, and what to expect from the PF, I would recommend it. As I said, I'm very happy with the results. I think coordination of all activities is tough, and it could potentially appear very disorganized and unwilling at times. I hope this review promotes more local business... read more

Just had my Pergo floors installed and I LOVE them! Ron ordered them and had them in and installed in less than 2 weeks and Zack did a wonderful job installing. I will be using them more! read more

Awful communication. Was supposed to call back to resolve a problem after installation and never did -- Each of the 8 times we called. Always has an excuse. Looks like the reviews here are consistent. read more

We purchased over 500 sq. ft. of Armstrong Alterna premium grouted tile floor from Perfect Floors in South Lyon in late April of 2014. Soon after installation we started seeing grout separation through out the entire floor. We sent letters and made numerous telephone calls requesting warranty work. After an exhausting 3 years of patience, I was forced to file a lawsuit in small claims court where the court did rule in my favor. It's too bad because we wanted to patronize our local floor company rather than going to the big box stores. Never again. read more

I am a local business Davis Legacy Enterprises, LLC and my mother had paid for $2,000.00 dollar floor to be installed. It was installed and approximately a week later the whole floor has lifted and contacted the makers of the floor which was Armstrong and they advised Tom and Paul the owners of Perfect Floors to come out and use the special glue that Armstrong sent to them for correction of whole floor lifting and looks awful. Now we my mother has been dealing with this for at least 4 months and never corrected the issue even though the payment has been paid. Today she was told that they were coming to FINALLY complete the job correctly and instead she was met with one person being sent with no supplies and on top of that they knew that it was two people who installed it originally and so it will probably would require two people to complete the job correctly but no instead one person was sent and with no solutions again.... Now we are waiting to see if the next visit is the one that finally completes the business with this horrible company. read more

I have given the company almost the whole house of new carpet and hardwood floor business few years ago. Only thing left is the floor I did not replace. Ron sr. was easy to work with and eager to work with me on the final price. Only thing rigid is they only offer one pad selection under the carpet. His work crews were a different story, more on the disappointed side. The hardwood floor crew was a father-and-son team. Frank could be the name of the father. They were neat and professional. They were in and out on time and got the job done and cleaned up as promised. Excellent. The carpet crew "lived" in my house for days. They would come early in the morning, breakfasted, pooped (yes!), chatted and etc. They did anything but concentrating on the work. When they worked, they conducted the job very slowly for no obvious reason. Only cause might be they got paid by hours, not by the job. I held myself back and kept quiet to just get over the ordeal. Finally, they were done and gone after almost a week of supposedly a one day job. The store sent someone to check on the job after 2 or 3 days into the installation and left without saying anything. I guess the slow work process was known and tolerated. The last piece of unpleasant happened when they tried to haul away two large rolls of unused carpet the store over-ordered (and I overpaid). I said those are mine and should be left to me. The foreman (Jerry could be the name) said they needed to be returned to the store. He finally gave in when I said to call Ron to discuss. But then he said not to tell Ron he left those to me. My only analysis of this type of strange behavior is they probably would sell the leftover to another store to make some side money, behind their boss. I am sure I am not the only customer has leftover material to profit them. Now, after few years of installation, hardwood floor still stand strong. Carpet starts showing some wrinkles around bottom of the door frames and at stairs. At one or two spots, the foot can feel extra pad is under the carpet. Maybe they forgot behind the hamburger wrap or toilet paper. Overall not too bad but I can expect problems emerging. read more

What a wonderful experience!! Ron Sr. our salesman was so knowledgeable and helpful! So grateful to have such beautiful flooring installed in our new home. Thank you Ron and Perfect Floors! read more

We are very satisfied wth the look of our new floor, but there were several things leading up to the finished progress that were unacceptable. The final cost for installation was nearly DOUBLE what the original estimate we were given. We kept getting the same reason for all of the additional costs, "you never know until you get into the job". The person who did the estimate did nothing but take measurements. He did not take into account the height of the molding and door jams. He assured us the floor could be installed right over the tile. WRONG. All of which was at our expense. The floor was back ordered, but we were not notified about it for 10 days. The installers were professional, but the nail holes in the base boards were not filled in properly. We had to have our painter do the touch up work and repaint the base boards. Although the company reimbursed us a small amount for the painter, it did not cover the entire cost. Would not recommend. read more

Salesman who promises everything, but forgets a lot. Very nice installation but had to get on them to finish the job (moldings)

We had a terrible experience with the company! The first installation was terrible. When they came back the second time they fixed certain things but made others worse. We contacted the owner Ron Sr. who was no help at all. They actually blamed the carpet we chose for the problems although they are the ones that sold it to us. They also lied about how much carpet was left over and it was a struggle to have them leave the leftover carpet that we paid for. We found the owner to be dishonest and unconcerned with our issues. Our brand new hall carpet will have to be replaced because of a very visible seam line. We were told that they sent their best installers which is a scary thought. Plus be prepared for a huge mess. They clean up the carpet pieces but that's it. We have a lot more carpet to replace but will NEVER use this company again!!! read more

Horrible. There have been bubbles in my kitchen floor since day 1. 2 years later, I am still trying to get the issue resolved. I call them about every 2 weeks or so and get the same bologna... "so sorry, installer is having issues". I couldn't be less pleased. I do not recommend them. read more

Hello possible new customers. It's come to our attention that we have a few reviews on yelp that are not very glowing. First I'm sorry to all the past customers that have had any problems with their installation. We always try to service people asap but depending on the time of the year we do get backed up sometimes. I can tell any future customers that we have weeded out a couple crews and replaced them ones that will be very respectful to you the customer. People have bad days and unfortunately some people handle those bad days worse the others. It's also unfortunate that you see only the so so or bad reviews here and not any of the satisfied customers. Perfect Floors has been doing business in South Lyon since 2005. Battled through a recession and came out with our heads above water. We weren't able to do that by not making sure our customers were happy and very satisfied from start to finish. We've seen other flooring stores come and go in this area and will stand by our strong family values, honesty and willingness to work with anyone that walks through our doors. Once again I am sorry to anyone that isn't happy with our service and encourage you to call us so we can help you with any problems. Thank You Ronnie Williams read more

The installation of my laminate floor, in a local senior living community, was done at the very end of December 2016. The installation was ok inside, but installers left mess outside, cigarette butts flooring debris etc, outside. Initially, happy with floor, but an area in the kitchen buckled in August 2017 indicating floor was in too tight to accommodate the humidity's effect on the floor. I contacted PF about this issue. After awhile 2 flooring repairmen came out and tried to fix it permanently, that was August 2017. The repairmen who came that time left a mess inside, sawdust, chipped baseboards and a left a few tools too. I know laminate floor can be a problem during humid months. It is now 2018 and the buckling is back in two places in the kitchen. I returned to the store in mid-July to request repair service of the laminate floor buckling problem. I have returned to Perfect Floors at least 6 times since July 2018 and it is now October 2018, still no response. I have heard nothing from the store in the way of them honoring their word to fix my floor. PF did send a gentleman out to tell me that my floor was buckled, a poor attempt at pacifying an angry customer, that too was months ago. I wanted to be supportive of my new community by doing business with a local company, never again. There are too many reputable flooring companies that stand by their work and believe in quality customer service. I will seek a remedy elsewhere to get my flooring fixed. The buckling is significantly tall and wide enough as to create a tripping hazard in the kitchen hallway, I use a cane and do not wish to fall. read more

I strongly suggest you not purchase laminate or carpeting from Perfect Floors. While they are very friendly, likable and personable, they are incompetent installers, and they will promise to take care of problems but never do. I have been waiting for over 2 months to have them take care of tack strip nails protruding form the carpet, both my son and daughter have cut their feet on them. They still haven't installed the carpet edging they said they would where the carpet stops. The laminate flooring they installed was installed over an un-level concrete floor after I told them it would need to be leveled in spots. At the time of the laminate installation, the installer said the floor was fine and leveling wasn't necessary. Now the floor creaks and bounces over the low spots. Read the other reviews on yelp you will see this is a trend. I only wish I had thought to check Perfect Floors out on yelp; I don't know how these guys are still in business. I really don't like to say bad things about businesses and everyone can make mistakes, so I have given them so many opportunities to make things right, yet they still haven't. After checking Yelp, I see that I am not alone in my experience with Perfect Floors. read more
