We decided to do a remodel on a small bathroom and started to look for some decorative border tile. Hit the usual places, Home Depot, Lowes, and Menards. Selections were okay but nothing really stood out. My wife found The Tile Shop in Canton online so we stopped in. They have a huge showroom with a much larger selection than the other stores. We were not "accosted" by anyone. We were shown where the tiles we were looking for were located. When we had questions we found Hilary who was very happy to help us. She was not pushy. She was very patient and helped figure out how much tile we needed and what type of grout went with the tile. The tile needed to be ordered and three days later Hilary got in touch to say it was ready to be picked up. We appreciate the high level of customer service we received and will remember to come back here first to look for any future tile needs. Came in to have a look around for an upcoming project. We were, over the course of about twenty minutes, accosted by three separate, friendly and well-meaning salespeople, who each gave their independent and fairly identical spiel, though we had already said, "hey, folks, we're just having a look around." Not really sure why you guys can't coordinate who is trying to sell the heck out of your products? Good assortment of marble, quartzite (which they have various names for), slate, travertine (limestone), glass, marble, mock-stone ceramic, large format ceramic, and giant format ceramic (like, I ain't never seen nothing like some of these thick, three or four foot tiles they had). Prices are slightly higher than Home Depot for the most part but selection is far better for most things (except basic ceramic and a few mosaic products that Home Depot stocks quite extensively). Inventory seemed overall ok, and I know they can order most things in fairly reasonable time frame, but I wouldn't buy here anyway because Canton is an RTA opt-out community and I don't shop in RTA opt-out communities because I'm just snarky like that. read more

If I could give The Tile Shop zero stars, I would. We purchased tiles from the Canton location (Hillary was our sales person) thinking we were purchasing from a reputable place but ended up making the biggest mistake ever. After having all of the bathroom floor and shower area tiled, we realized that the floor tiles were all bowed and ended up all uneven. To make matters worse, the subway and the bullnose tiles were a different shade of white. BEWARE and go somewhere else for your tiles. read more

I have used the Tile Shop in Canton on two separate occasions. The first encounter was very good. I selected the tile and I was able to order and pick it up with no problems. The second encounter wasn't as good. Each of our first 2 selections wasn't in stock. They did have one available in the Troy store. I asked if the Troy store could deliver it to the Canton store for pick-up and the answer was, NO. We would have to go to Troy. Our 3rd selection wasn't available in Canton and would take 2 weeks if we ordered. However, we could go to the Ann Arbor store and pick it up. How can you advertise that one has 3,000 varieties in stock? Why would you make a customer travel from one corner of south east Michigan to the other to get what they need? We needed 1 box of the tile. When I went to the Ann Arbor store for pick-up, they could not provide a box for it. The employee brought the 10 loose sheets of tile out to my car. All the way home the sheets of tile slid around on the floor with each turn of the wheel. Whaaaat???? The second transaction with The Tile Shop has left me shaking my head. read more
