No returns. No warning. Be sure you know exactly what is needed…read more I made an incorrect assumption on shutter sizes and it cost me $130. Who doesn't take returns these days? I then needed a window replacment. The OEM said I needed to work through Allied. Reluctantly I gave the size of the window to the associate. with what I belived was the order/warranty number. I never received confirmation what was being ordered. When the window came in I could tell it was too large. The associate said I could bring it back if it was not the right size. After confirming it was too large I attempted to bring it back. The same associate said I could not return it! This was there error not mine. They should have confirmed the size before ordering. Just wanted to share my experience. Would rather shop at someplace with a return policy. Not impressed.

Customers who had asked Kevin and his store to help support local teams, stopped shopping there. I think the final nail in the coffin were the numerous roadblocks that virtually cut off his few remaining loyal customers. We have lost something today that cannot be easily replaced.

The gentleman behind the counter helped me find what I need right away. Service like this you will not get at a big box store! The fact that this place in still in business speaks volumes to the customer service, price and selection offered. Melvindale Hardware is well organized and has just about anything you would need from hardware store.

I grabbed 3 of them and when I went to check out they rang up 27.99 I told the cashier John that they were supposed to to be 50% off and he looked at me and said "yeah, no I don't think so!" I told him there was a sign and I would show him. He grabbed who I assume was a manger named Molly and I told her the same thing, and she instead looked the item up on her phone. I told her there was a sign and I would show her. She walked over and I showed her and she said that's not for those items, I said it's literally above the items and all she said was well sorry. I said so you're not going to honor the sign and she's like "nope" and just walked away! Horrible customer service and just disrespectful! I will be returning all 3! Save your self and just go across the street to HD I emailed corporate and spoke with the general managers assistant who after initial contact ignored my response email, only to have the actual general manager reach out to me and do nothing. He basically said even though the placement of the totes and signage are deceptive to customers the sign states no totes (in the smallest print)! Told me he had totes all over the store as "filler" and for end caps and that don't mean they are on sale just because a sign is there, not sure why they have signs then. He also didn't address the rude customer service until I brought it up and couldnt explain to me why Molly would leave the sign above the totes if it caused confusion about the sale. While the customer service email was helpful, it unfortunately was just poor customer service all around and a waste of time to reach out to anyone at the Taylor store.

Bought a brand new gas Troy built lawnmower at Menards put it together. It does not work took it…read moreback. They told us to take it to Troy built dealer service center even though it's a brand new lawnmower would not change it or anything. Taylor Store is horrible. Kaitlyn is the manager. She was horrible so now I'm stuck with a brand new lawnmower that doesn't work. $500 lawnmower. do not take your chances and shop at Menards go to Home Depot or Lowe's. Upon looking at our mower, they told us it would be best to not even go through the trouble of a diagnostic test...it simply would not be worth their time and OUR money. How freaking honest was that? You never get that anywhere else I have been. Upon realizing we needed to replace our old mower, the owner suggested buying a used one from them that they had in stock. It was the perfect replacement for us, and we felt good about purchasing from people who actually work on mowers. I am proud of this small business and I suggest anyone who has issues with mowers or snow blowers, please give them a visit. They will not try to upsale you or give you bad advice, just to make a buck. If YELP gave 10 stars, I would gladly give it to them. Keep up the great customer service, and honesty, as you have a new customer for life now!! Forget Walmart, Lowe's, and other big box stores, and support this awesome small business !!
