Great Barbecue. Brisket was very fatty the recent time I got it but still had great taste. Pulled pork is one of the best in the area. Meat is cooked to perfection, their ribs fall right off the bone. Wouldn't get the "Twinkies", they weren't very good. read more

Amazing food and super nice people. Give it a try :) I came during the week on a Wednesday and they had full service. read more

Not likely to go back there. ordered a half rack of ribs. Their ad says ribs are jucey and fall off the bone. They were dry and tasteless. Their BBQ sauce is like pouring water from a bottle. I don't recommend going there, read more

Why does MrSippy deserve 5 stars? Can it really be *that* good? Let me assure you, it can and it is. Having eaten BBQ up and down the East Coast, served up from hidden gems and places with lines when the doors open, I can say that I would put MrSippy's food up against any of them. The meats are the star of the show. Ribs are baby-back with an enviable smoke ring, a touch of dry rub, and a moist tothiness that melts in your mouth without falling off the bone like they were cooked in a crockpot. They are perfection in their simplicity. The brisket is the same. Moist yet firm, tender without making you feel like you're eating a Sunday pot roast. The pulled pork and sausage, too, are flavorful and moist without being greasy. Get the pulled pork sandwich, which is topped with a nice vinegar-based slaw, and you won't be disappointed. The sides really shine, too. They all have the taste and quality to complement the meats. They aren't an after-thought--they're well-made, homey comfort foods. The collards are tender yet crisp, with a hint of vinegar and just enough saltiness, thanks to the generous chunks of smoked salt pork. The purple hulled peas are a nice alternative to the typical too-sweet, too-mushy baked beans you typically find at BBQ places. They have a nice earthy/nutty taste and are probably my favorite side. The potato salad! Just enough dressing, a hint of relish, and crispy celery remind me of what my Dad would make on a summer Saturday when he was doing burgers and dogs on the grill. As a yankee, I can't say much about the cheesy grits. I've really only had grits down south at breakfast or as part of shrimp and grits. I like MrSippy's cheesy grits, but I don't have a point of comparison. Finally, the sauces: perfect. Carolina mustard, a vinegar-based mop-style sauce, and a traditional ketchup-based sauce make up the trio. You'll want to try them, but you won't need them. A little mustard sauce with sausage, a dash of the mop on your pulled pork, and just maybe a drop or two of the traditional on your ribs--but don't be surprised if you've eaten your whole plate and not gone back for more sauce, because the meat is *that* good. The service is warm, friendly, and helpful. The owner has been there each time we've visited and always greets us and checks in on the tables. He clearly cares about the food and the experience. Having had so, so much mediocre and downright bad BBQ in New Hampshire--especially from places folks rave about (you know who I mean)--it is refreshing to have a place I can recommend without reservation. read more

Mrsippy BBQ has the service, food, and atmosphere it is all its own experience from live music every Wednesday by local musicians to great portioned food I would always recommend the pulled pork quesadilla with there famous home made Mrsippy sauce. And In the summer they have a beautiful out door picnic area. If your a pulled pork person I highly recommend this for you. read more

Had lunch here for the first time! Food was great - ribs & pulled pork. Only comment is I wish the meat had been warmer temperature. Very friendly folks! Then we found out that we were there for Burnt Ends Wednesday! Yay - we got some to go. read more

Mimsy likes to say that I like the idea of BBQ but not BBQ itself. She knows me too well. Most of the time, it's a greasy, lame, overpriced disappointment wherever I go. Not so with MrSippy. This will sound weird but it was their sides that really kicked ass. Usually, BBW sides are this mushy crap made with little thought. Think about it. Mac & cheese which is just elbows and velveeta thrown in a microwave, or cole slaw that is downing in Mayo, right? Their sides are superb. I've no idea how they prep the collard greens, but the flavor is great. Mac & cheese made with a nice combo of cheeses. The meats were very good too, I got some brisket that was not all fatty and had great flavor, but it was lukewarm. Table service is a bit confused. There was a pickup bluegrass band playing. Overall a good experience, give them a try. read more

Love this new BBQ spot! Parking is easy in their private lot. The building and inside is in great condition, with a welcoming dining area and bartop. Lots of adult beverages to choose from to go with your meal! And wow, the ribs...they're the BEST I've ever had! Not drenched in artificial sauces. The meats are thoughtfully smoked and prepped day-of! The collard greens are delicious, and they have tofu and chicken options for a lighter meal. I see this place becoming more and more popular! Great for the family, for a fun lunch meeting, or to hang out with friends! read more

Wanting to try a few things, I got their BBQ combo with brisket, pulled pork, cornbread and Cole slaw. While the brisket and Cole slaw was pretty good, I found the pulled pork to be just 'meh' and the cornbread a bit dry and not very flavorful. My biggest gripe was that the portions, for $26, was very small--two slices of brisket and a small scoop of pork (see photo). Even the take out sauce container was only half full (what?). Skip the combo for sure. Very disappointed. read more

Not bad but not great and definitely not worth the prices. Portions are insanely small. $80 on dinner and we was still hungry. You're better off taking the drive to Goody Cole's. Better food and more of it. read more

While they may not serve over generous portions, they certainly do make up for in "AUTHENTICITY"! I tried all the other BBQ establishments and brushing "Sweet Baby Ray's" on a piece of meat and calling it BBQ is a joke! Finally, we have an authentic Southern BBQ restaurant and right here in Rochester NH! read more

This smoked food is awesome! my wife and I have been here a few times and we love this place! So good! burnt ends ribs chicken and pork are all amazing perfectly smoked and it's consistent! pretty safe to say they do the best smoking around, and the sides, all amazing! read more

More than just typical bbq. This is southern fare and all wholemade. Delicious! Different than anything else in the area.

They've been there for a while now and we finally decided to try them out. My wife had a pulled pork quesadilla and I had a chicken sandwich. The quesadilla had a great balance of peppers and onions and was topped with a delicious sauce. My sandwich came on a nice toasted roll with cole slaw. The homemade pickles were delicious as was the black eyed peas. I would have scored them 5 stars but one visit doesn't rate anyone that high in my book. We'll definitely be back. read more

I often say there's no such thing as good bbq here in New England, but this is one of two exceptions I've found. The food is really good...I mean REALLY good. Their sides are authentic southern...including hush puppies, collards, and their amazing new black eyed peas. As an added bonus, they do birthday open haha on Wednesday nights, which is super fun. I HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone. read more

This place is the BEST!!! The Wednesday night bluegrass jam is stellar. Crazy good talent and so much fun. The food is amazing. Have been numerous times and always blown away with the quality and flavor. The smoked deviled eggs are to die for let alone the bbq. They are vegan and vegetarian friendly with yummy smoked tofu. I have tried most things on the menu and each is as good if not better than I've had "down South" . It's super friendly and family run. I am so grateful to have a spot like this in Rochester. I love the new outdoor seating area. read more

Outstanding new Texas style BBQ. Everything is home made on premises, with great care & quality. Beer selection, although good, is limited. They just opened, so with a little time they will definitely evolve into a great BBQ joint. read more

As a New Hampshire transplant from the South, I'm very picky about BBQ. I was reluctant to give this place a try because BBQ restaurants in New England usually leave me disappointed. I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor, smokiness and tenderness of the pulled pork and brisket. The potato salad and collard greens brought me back to the South. The meal was a bit pricey, but it it was worth every penny-- so delicious. I'm looking forward to bringing some of my friends here soon to try some of the local beer on tap. read more

Tried this place for the first time last night and was very pleasantly surprised! The location is only about five minutes from my house, and while getting in and out of the parking lot COULD be an issue at peak times I had no trouble. I ordered online for curbside pickup and the process could not have been easier or more convenient! As for the food, I had a pulled pork plate and chose cheesy grits and baked beans as my sides. The pulled pork was probably the best I've ever had! The cheesy grits were also very good, and while the baked beans were just slightly undercooked, the flavor was good. I also ordered some apple crisp to try later in the evening, and that was good as well. Overall maybe not totally perfect for the price, but I will definitely be back in the future! read more

Stopped in for lunch on a spring Saturday... we started with hush puppies which were perfectly golden and yummy. We decided to share a combo plate for lunch... brisket was tender and not dry or fatty, pulled pork was awesome, as was the mac and cheese and coleslaw. We tried 3 sauces, the traditional, the mustard, and the vinegar. Good service, good food, good prices, nice environment. Happy to have this so close! read more

Went to MrSippy for the first time. Sat at the bar and bartender was very attentive. Had the brisket and it was absolutely delicious. It melted in your mouth. The sides were also very good. The owner came out and was talking with us and you could tell how passionate he was about his food. Will definitely be back. Loved the atmosphere. read more

Whoa! There is a new BBQ joint in town! They just opened this week and the food is so good! They have all sorts of BBQ (including pulled pork, brisket, ribs) and all the sides (collard greens, potato salad, mac & cheese, cornbread) but they also had smoked tofu which was right up my alley and delicious with their homemade sauce. Good sized portions, reasonable pricing, and just a delicious casual fun time. read more

Great food, great staff. Excellent family-run BBQ joint. Delicious home-cooked food and a nice variety on the menu. Lots of southern inspired dishes with their very own sauces. I love the barbecue chicken quesadilla but their plates and sides are great as well. I highly recommend the pickle jar and hush puppy sides. On Wednesdays, they have an acoustic bluegrass jam. Fun to join in if you're a musician or just to sit back and listen while you enjoy a bite. read more

My Husband and I were in Big Lots and starving, we searched for Food near us. This place came up and said Texas Style BBQ, we thought awesome but we will see. We are from Texas and for 20 years we have been searching for great BBQ "Near Us" We drive all the way to Bethel Maine for good BBQ. WELL NO MORE, we drove by this place looked closed, turned around to head home and saw the small open sign, pulled in, so glad we did. Ordered Brisket, Mac & cheese beans. husband had Brisket, collard greens and potato salad. we orders the Hush Puppies also. ALL of it was wonderful, brisket was so very tender and cooked to perfection, BBQ on the table, I think we ate almost half of it was GREAT. Plenty of food and again so very good. We will be back to try some pork dishes and will for sure get the Hush Puppies., the whole staff from the chef to the servers, person that took our order came out and asked how our food was and we talked quite a while to the Chef and I think his mom. Even the tea "Sweet Tea" was great. We made a suggestion that they should hang an open sign flag out front. And as far as TEXAS BBQ it was on point, but in Texas they serve "DILL pickles and RAW Sweet Vidalia Onions with their BBQ. So great we are thinking of going back on Saturday. We wish you much sucess. Dianne & Juan Zapata read more

We got take out to your try shortly after they opened their Rochester location. The ribs were overcooked with next to no meat and the cardinal rookie mistake made on them. The brisket was dry. The collards were bitter and gritty. The cornbread was dry and the beans were bland. Yankee BBQ masquerading as Southern. No thanks. read more

The waitress did a great job. She was very attentive and clearly gave attention to detail. The cook however did not pay attention to detail. I ordered a chix sandwich no bread. It came on bread, I ordered hushpuppies for my mother and advised her to choose a different side for her ribs rather than cornbread because she had the hush puppies. The cook gave her one of the sides she asked for and then replaced the other with cornbread. The food was good read more
