I feel bad for the employee that works there as she was very nice. However, the food was all very much subpar. The smashed fries were the best but undercooked to the point of being raw. The pork ribs were the exact opposite and were actually overcooked. It looks to me as if they are barely smoked and then frozen and then reheated in a microwave. The picture says it all. The burnt ends pork belly was actually not burnt, ends but rather just smoked pork belly that had been cut into pieces and then thrown back in a fryer to reheat. I would strongly recommend not going. read more

A colleague and I stopped in for lunch today, and the food was wonderful! We split the BBQ sampler for two, and it was the perfect amount of food for two big eaters. Pulled pork, ribs, pulled chicken, sausage and brisket + two sides (cucumber salad and jambalaya). There were not a lot of folks in there for lunch on a Monday, and I'd say they are missing out! They have a nice selection of meats available for purchase, and there is a good sized bar if you are looking to drink as well. Recommended! read more

I made a review of this place and I couldn't say enough about the burnt ends but after my recent experience there, I would definitely not go back. I placed an order on the phone with some burnt ends. I asked the owner what size they came in and I already knew they came in quarter pound half pound and pound, but he tells me they only have half pounds so I say OK I'll have three and after going through that he asks me to leave him a tip almost demanding it and I advised this is a Phone order. I'm picking it up. What's the tip for and now when I get there I look up at the board and yes they do have quarter pound orders like I asked he lied instead of spending $45 there he tricked me into spending $85 there pretty scummy move and the portions were not the half pounds I paid for in this time. The burnt ends were not good. I would definitely find the place down the street before I went here again. He lost a faithful customer after that experience. The best BBQ sandwich and smashed fries I have ever had. I did not even need to put on the additional sauce they provided. This is the second time I have visited for takeout. The first time I got the BBQ sampler and it was awesome to begin with. I have only done takeout but the restaurant looks clean and friendly. I am a local and I highly suggest. read more

The good reviews are fake. This place is horrible; the owners are horrible. They are rude & insufferable. Worse than "bad service," there's something just off. Grabbed the BBQ sampler for one. About 2 or 3 small slices of Brisket, 2 small ribs, scoop of pulled pork and chicken and a handful of their smoked sausage. Not what I would call BBQ portions but it was still enough you won't leave hungry. Ribs were the best part. The rub they use is delicious, the meat is smoked decently but the rub is what sold it. I honestly can't say much about the rest. Brisket didn't have much flavor and the fat didn't melt in my mouth. Pulled pork was doused in whatever that smoky hickory like sauce is, not bbq sauce, like it was marinating in that orange grease oil stuff. Some people like it I guess. Chicken wasn't great, not terrible but just like a whatever food. Sausage was actually pretty good, a little cold though when it came out. Bunch of sides I could have chose but I went with a sweet potato not knowing it was just a sliced up and baked sweet potato and nothing much more. I mean I do love a good sweet potato but I was kind hoping for like a mashed or a casserole style or something. Mac and cheese might as well have been Annie's. I'm sure they make their own sauce and what not but don't expect real Mac and cheese when you order. Corn bread was sorta bland too. They didn't even have fresh brewed Iced Tea or lemonade. Just drinks out of the freezer. From the road, the place looks more like a small meat butchery. And it is, they have a big deli window with all kinds of meats and even smoking chips and rubs. The restaurant aspect of it is just not that welcoming. 2 sauces to choose from sweet or hot ..... that's what you get. Sauces were good though, just left wanting more tastes in my mouth. Tried it a few years ago. Was driving by today & noticed it was open. Thought I would give it another shot as places occasionally have a bad day. Big mistake First of all bring a flyswatter because the amount of flies inside this establishment is overwhelming. You literally can't sit or stand in one spot for too long. You have to keep walking around. They are everywhere. Two meat combo brisket & ribs. They honestly tasted like they were boiled. I always want a nice flavored dry rub and a great smoke flavor and both of these meats had neither. Huge disappointment in the flavor. Ribs were over cooked & the brisket was dry & absolutely horrible. Mac-n-cheese was like soup with a very weird flavor. The jambalaya was good but tasted like it came from a box. The cornbread was so dry that when I picked it up it literally broke in my hands. Couldn't even eat it. $39 for this little plate of food. Never should have given them another shot. They sell beef they try to pass off as "Wagyu". I assure you it's not ! Look online and do comparisons. I once traveled the entire East Coast of this country in search of BBQ. I've eaten at probably 50 - 75 different places. My top three worst are unfortunately all in New Hampshire. This is not at all good barbecue. Starting off with four stars Not that they don't deserve 5 or 3 this visit(my first) was better than average. Spoke to the bartender and they just recently opened a bar. The place does have a bbq feel although from the outside it doesn't. Ordered several items on the menu. All very good. Brisket burnt ends St Louis Ribs cucumber salad and corn bread. Served quickly and hot. Service was good and even had a chance to chit chat with the Bartender. Definitely will visit again and if the experience is the same would Move towards the 5 stars. read more

Craving Bar B Que and this was a lesson in where NOT to eat. First I patiently waited outside, masked, as their sign indicates to do, if there is another customer inside. My turn to enter. 1st time there so I was looking at the menu. No greeting from the unmasked guy or from the unmasked woman behind the counter. The menu has a lot to offer, but no helpful suggestions as I reviewed the menu, even though I asked questions. The guy seemed to get angry that I didn't know what I wanted, so he left and told the woman to take my order. Ok, I finally ordered food for 3 and stepped away from the counter to wait. The angry guy came out from the kitchen and told me to "get outside, we'll bring your order out when it's ready" Wow, salty, but ok, no problem, even though the 2 customers before me stayed inside while their orders were prepared. Geez, was it because I took so long to decide? Or maybe he didn't like my mask. With all his COVID rules, one would think he and his staff would have been masked. Don't they know it takes two to mask to help stop the spread... Anyhow, 25 minutes later the food arrives to our car. We are starving and can't wait to dig in. We had 3 pulled pork sandwiches with "smashed" fries, 10.25 each. And 3, 12oz cans of soda for 5.37. The pulled pork was not mixed with barbecue sauce. There was a small plastic container with sauce that you could pour over the meat onto the sandwich. Not an ideal situation when you are eating in your car. No way to mix it into the meat. Pretty sure thats one of the things I asked about when I was trying to decide what to order. Overall the food was bland. The smashed fries disappointing. And the customer service unfriendly. Wishing I would have gotten their Kobe beef cheeseburger, cause, can you really mess up a burger? This place can have great food WHEN they are open. I have TRIED to eat here many times only to find they decided not to open or, even more aggravating, they closed early for some reason...like "it was was slow so we closed early". And when I say early, I mean before 5:30 PM. So to drive for 20 minutes only to find out they are closed when they claim to be open till 6 is really unprofessional and disrespectful to the customers. Finally, they recently opened a bar section and guess what??? It closes at 6 ...or earlier. What kind of a bar closes at 6. The only reason they have survived this long is because the food can be pretty good and they charge a fortune for it. Call before you go there and, if they bother answering the phone, make sure they are going to stay open until you get there. Quite probably not. read more

BEST BBQ MEAT I've ever had. I went to Huntspoint after seeing the segment on NH Chronicle. They are a supplier of Wagyu beef to the competitive BBQ trade. So, if pit masters buy this meat, it HAS to be good, right? And it IS. I tried the Brisket (Kobe/Wagyu upgrade) and the Ribs with chili and mac & cheese as sides. WOW. I got the 'wet' end of the brisket--fatty and totally melt-in your mouth. The ribs were equally delectable, with a thick bark and fall-off-the-bone tender. While the sauces were tasty, these meats need no sauce. The sides were equally delicious, as was the cornbread and the fries sprinkled with a little seasoning. Note that the portions here are NOT large. You have an option of 6oz or 10oz of meat on your dinner platters. It seems like not much; I opted for the 6oz, and wished I opted for the 10. :-) Really, this place is where you go for seriously great meat and bbq. I love Goody Coles down the street, but this is a huge leap above; and given that Goody Coles' quality has had some issues from day to day...I'd rather opt for a higher grade of meat and care. Husband, who is very fussy, got brisket and loved it (heavy on smoke flavor ... if you like that or not.) I got pulled pork. It would have/could have been good, but all I tasted was SALT! The more I ate, the more intense and unforgiving the salt overkill was. Smashed potatoes were awesome. Funny that one of our orders had mostly halved potatoes (that is only slightly "smashed") and the other had very smashed (that is very crispy) bites of potato. In our case, hubby liked one and I liked the other, so... If I lived nearby I would go again and give it one more try. BTW, service was OK, not great. read more

First time there. Got all excited when we saw a BBQ sign. Not sure which was worst.....the service......or the food. Ordered sampler platter for 2 with 2 sides. The ribs were tough and rubbery. Couldn't eat them. The brisket was okay. The pulled pork was good, but dry. Better once we added bbq sauce. The pulled chicken was dry and had no taste. Only included (2) little condiment take out containers with bbq sauce. Not enough for sampler platter. Cornbread was too crumbly and fell apart in hand so you couldn't eat it. The sides (baked beans and bacon potato salad) were scrumptious, but outrageously priced. $10 for small side container of baked beans. Menu overly priced. My meal was decent the "smashed potato" was crispy and tasty on the outside but pretty much plain inside. I had to add ketchup to finish and I hate ketchup. This was my third time at Hunts. So excited to be in the area to get it again, only to find the menu I ordered off of, was apparently old prices. When it came to almost $100 dollars I had to ask why? $10 for a sweet potato? $16 for 4 small hot sausages? The owner was very kind and removed the charges for me. it is hit or miss..you may end up with a fabulous meat sandwich, platter etc or end up with burned meat sandwich or platter, etc..the prices are sky high..like nyc pricing so be prepared..if they were more consistent and more reasonably priced we would visit often..their sides are super expensive for the price which is a shame because they are delicious..except we didnt care for the chili which was very bland..worth a stop now and again though read more

So...having spent so much time down south I was worried, I kinda gave up on having "real" burnt ends while up north. I took a risk. Well worth it! And they had FAT on them...AND while they were glazed/cooked in a sauce...they weren't just sliced chunks of brisket drowning in bbq sauce either. They were perfect. We also tried both kinds of brisket...and the angus was nicely done for those of you who don't like fatty brisket (clearly a northern thing) but the Kobe brisket was fatty and juicy as smoked brisket should be. We also got cucumber salad...nothing fancy but simple perfect cucumber salad like you get down south. The score...I see a sign for beef ribs on the wall...big beautiful ribs...can't wait to cook them!!! Don't expect a typical meat shop when you walk in the front door. It's small, dimly lit, little disorganized looking, with a side room/kitchen area to the right where you can get BBQ take-out and several chest freezers along the left wall. While there is a large bank of display coolers, they're not filled with a nicely presented array of steaks, roasts and assorted marinated cuts of meat. No marinating tubs at all and everything is in cryopacs. Some fresh, some frozen. Bulk, wholesale meats (beef and pork) are the mainstay of this company. They primarily cater to those who compete in championship BBQ events, and restaurants. But us backyard grillers have a new source for above prime grade meats. The company is based in the Bronx and sell a lot of their product online, or by phone, shipping to the customer. Apparently there was enough demand in New England to open a satellite retail location in Epping. Who knew? We chatted awhile with the owner (we didn't get names, but I think it's Johnny from the promo materials) about the quality of the meats they carried (where else would you find Japanese Kobe or Wagyu beef??), loved his Texan cowboy hat (not sure about the hygienic aspect of that, but looks cool ). His wife ran the kitchen and was serving a take-out customer when we came in. Their young son scampers around, having a good time. He's the door greeter. :) Dress warmly, the place is freezing, literally. Nothing in the cases is labeled. But Johnny knew what everything was. He suggested we try the American Wagyu (I'm told same breed as the Japanese Wagyu, just raised in US) hanger steak. It was going to require some trimming, but he described the process and showed us the pics he had posted on their Facebook page. Bit of a chance at $20/lb. Once home, I attempted to follow his instructions, and those on another website, but still managed to get it wrong. I do not have a career as a butcher! LOL But it was the most tender, juicy, rich tasting meat we've had in an extremely long time! So worth the money! For Super Bowl weekend we will go back and get him to cut us some strip loin or rib eye steaks! And one day we will try the take home BBQ packages. They have a huge smoker outside that smelled fabulous. I'm not a huge fan of smoked meat, but every once in awhile can go for some nice brisket. Will see how it compares to Goody Coles further down Route 125. Bit of competition for them. Currently no seating, but apparently plans are in the works to expand into the unit next door. read more

Got there at 8:00 and they were closing up. We were just about to get back in the car when the owner came out and invited us back in. Then she came over and introduced herself, asked about us and how we heard of the place. The food was GREAT! Best BBQ around in our opinion. (We ordered the Sampler For 2) But combined with that kind of attention - you just can't beat that at ANY restaurant in the area, BBQ or otherwise. We'll be back. She also said they'd be on Phantom Gourmet in September. So don't just take our word on the food. You don't get on the Phantom unless you're doing it right! read more

So sad today, just left one of our favorite places Huntspoint, been loyal customers for 2 years... The owner had brought 2 brothers on that could really cook meat to perfection, made us the most amazing steaks on numerous occasions; thick melt in your mouth perfect temp steaks... Well they are gone, found out tonight when we went.. My first thick cut was overdone and then the thin cut came out underdone..Medium is a temp that a cook should be able to find without issue, heck I'd eat just under medium too... Well the cook has to be inexperienced, rushed both sirlions so they were well on the ends and tough...So sad.. We truly loved this place and the owners are awesome, but they need to get someone who knows how to cook their meat, very disappointed tonight... read more

Out on route 104 you will find a roadside BBQ joint outside of a Moccasin shop , where you will have the best rib ends in this state. . A little further down the road there is a decent little joint, not the best but cheap and doable. One route 123 in Brentwood you will get bbq that on it's worst day will be better than most every other smokehouse in NH. At Huntspoint you will get hype. Meat should pull from the bone, not fall off it . if you are going to sauce your pulled pork don't load on the garlic, better yet , don't sauce it at all ( a clarification the sauce spoken of here is not technically bbq sauce but rather a basting sauce ) . And what was with all the grease anyway? The only meat I can give any praise to would be their sausage. Oh and if coleslaw is a predominant fixture on your menu, you should perhaps make sure you have some available. Don't waster your time, and definitely do not waste your hard earned money when there is much better to be had..heck even the insanely overrated KC's Ribshack is better. read more

Local resident that will unfortunately not be going back. We felt they lady was very rude and made a comment on how they are closing soon, which was in 30 mins. Also the menu pricing was kinda tricking, was way more then we thought as there was a lot of add ons. Goody Coles is a much better option and right down the road. read more
