Fantastic smoked meats. I got a combo plate of brisket and ribs, with mashed sweet potatoes and cornbread sides. The brisket was competition quality and the ribs, just as good. If the meat falls off the bone on your ribs... they've been overcooked. These ribs were super tender (probably brined, a great thing), juicy and a wonderful low key smoke flavor. The brisket had a very nice bark, that was not overpowered with salt, a great ring (where the smoke has penetrated the bark) and nice and moist without being soggy. I got the fatty end slice (the point), hey, fat is where the flavors at. If your using sauce on the meats, you really cant enjoy the art of smoking, the meats shouldn't "need" BBQ sauce, this place had them but they were unnecessary The sweet potato side was just great, don't know how it was done but, worked for me. The cornbread was really nice, if you're used to super market cornbread you won't like it. My gf got the deviled eggs without meat, and a side of potato salad, she loved both. I tried her potato salad, it was good, tasted homemade. I had to edit my review, I forgot about the dessert... I got pecan pie w/whipped cream... fantastic. The service was great, I wish I remembered the woman's name so I could mention her. She was quick to greet us, pointed out the specials and the food came out in less than 10 minutes. We stopped on the way home from a weekend in New Hampshire. I'm on the line of 3/4 stars. I got the brisket and rib combo plate. It was $30 and only came with 1 piece of brisket and 4 ribs. A small cup of greens and a small tray of potato salad. Not even a piece of corn bread. You pay $3 for corn bread and it's smaller than a muffin. The prices just aren't right. The service was good. Absolutely love all of their foods that I have tried. They have not disappointed myself or husband to date. The atmosphere is quaint and fitting. Everything is full of flavor and served to perfection. The only complaint I have is parking. With that said it's probably because the food is so good there's nowhere to park. Last night, I ordered the brisket plate for $24. The brisket itself was fantastic, but the portion was quite small for the price. This morning, I mentioned the place to my BBQ-loving buddy, and he decided to check it out for lunch. He ordered the ribs/brisket combo for $25 and sent me a picture of his plate. I was shocked--his portion of brisket was larger than mine despite my plate being brisket-only, and on top of that, he got four ribs with his combo for just $1 more! The bottom line: If you want brisket, skip the brisket-only plate and go straight for the ribs/brisket combo. For just an extra dollar, you not only get more brisket, but four ribs as well! This raises two concerns: 1. Their pricing model doesn't make sense. 2. They clearly struggle with portion control. While I was impressed with the brisket quality, these inconsistencies are hard to overlook. It makes me hesitant to return when I can't predict the value I'll get from the kitchen. read more

We were happy with our first time going. My favorites were the brisket, hush puppies, and the potato salad. Brisket was well cooked and flavorful. Our waitress was very sweet and the owner came over to check on our table, which is always a nice gesture. We went early for dinner so it wasn't very busy. My husband thought it was pricey but I pointed out things are made from scratch and locally sourced so naturally when quality is higher, so is the price. It was worth the price in my opinion. The only thing I'd like to see for the future is they have a kid menu and make sure to have high chairs with working buckles. I had heard raving reviews about MrSippy BBQ, so on a day off I decided to give them a try. I ordered via their online ordering system. Very easy to use! I ended up ordering a BBQ combo plate. I chose ribs and brisket, as well as smoked mac n cheese, and baked beans as my sides. I also ordered a piece of cornbread. All this came to just over $30. The ribs are delicious. Not super spiced, just a wonderful smoked flavor. Not a whole lot of meat on them though. Out of 4 ribs only 1 had a good amount of meat. 4/5 rating. The brisket is also very good. Cut it with a plastic knife easily. Nice smoky flavor. Good ratio of fat and meat. I was given 2 pieces of brisket in this combo just for those who may be wondering. 5/5 rating. The baked beans were delicious, loved the flavor. The portion was on par for a lunch. 4/5 rating. The smoked macaroni and cheese, I wasn't really impressed with. It didn't have much flavor, even after seasoning with salt and pepper. 1/5 rating. Finally the cornbread. This to me also fell a bit flat. Crumbly in texture, yet still moist. But the flavor profile was a bit weak. 2/5 rating. I ordered lunch at 11:05 am, and it was ready at 11:15 am. Everything came out just warm, not hot. I drove to a park less than a minute from the restaurant to eat it, so it didn't have time to cool down. 3/5 rating. Staff was super friendly and welcoming. The inside building was very clean and tidy. 5/5 rating. Adding all my rating scores together, I'm giving MrSippy BBQ a 4/5 stars. They offer the down home smoky BBQ that is hard to find around here. First off, this place is Great! I loved Everything! I've been touring all over New England for 2.5 years finding the best spots and I knew this was going to be one of em. Just opened their doors as a restaurant on Friday August 13th but before that, I think Im remembering this right, they just had a smoker located in Barrington behind Dante's Italian Bistro. Im not entirely sure what the menu was but it seemed to be more like call ahead in advance bulk orders only on Mondays and Tuesdays or something. But the pictures of the smokers and the food that they made and all the little venues they were at made me super excited to try it out. I gave a quick call earlier in the summer and I find out they are opening up a restaurant soon. And WOW did they deliver. Got 2 platter meals. Sliced Brisket with Mac and Cheese and Beans and a Rib platter with Potato Salad and Slaw. Also grabbed a homemade Sweet Tea and Lemonade ... Lemonade was stuff directly from Heaven! I don't know what they do to it but it's almost got like a splash of maple or orange in there and it's the best lemonade ever, hands down. Sweet Tea was phenomenal too, you can really tell it's legit homemade. Brisket looked extremely good, juicy, not too lean not too fatty, perfect smoke ring, dark peppery bark. I'll admit I'm not a crazy fan of just regular brisket, I only get it at BBQ joints because I feel like it should be just as big a staple in their BBQ line up as their Ribs. I rarely finish the brisket given to me, even the ones I really enjoy. That being said, Mr. Sippy's Brisket is the type of Brisket I could eat all day long. It is definitely some of the greatest Brisket I've ever had. Great balance between the beef flavor and the smoke and the rub. Noting overpowering in the textures, Just Great Quality meat with lots of love. Ribs looked great too. A little off put by the fact that they were like little riblet ribs but looked too damn good I didn't think about it for long. Not too much of a rub but looks like they didn't need it. Very red so obviously they do something to them, maybe the rub just smokes into the meat so much it all fuses together. EXCELLENT Flavor! I couldn't stop eating these ribs, these are like the ribs you can't put down. And they have a BBQ Sauce that he says is a mix of North Carolina (Vinegar) and Memphis (Sweet). OMG This was GREAT BBQ Sauce! And particularly on these Ribs! Again, it didn't overpower anything and didn't take away from the great flavor of the pork and the smoke. Not that molasses stuff, BBQ Sauce the right way as a liquid sauce. They say people have claimed they could just drink the Sauce ... I Second that! Beans were very much a refried style with a bit of meat in them, probably some pork. It was a bit sweeter than regular refried, maybe something smokey about them. Way better than regular refried though. And I say the other photo of these beans from the first reviewer and they were very much a New England style sweet baked bean so I don't know what happened but either way it was all good. Mac and Cheese is Smoked! A bit of a grit to it, definitely baked, kinda turns into a cream in the mouth. The hickory smoked flavor is awesome, very unique. They throw some more cheese on top and let it melt too but that's more of a little bonus. Cornbread was very dark gold color and I loved it. Great buttery and gritty style. Subtle Sweet and moist. Great cornbread. Potato Salad was traditional grandma's red bliss with celery and red onion. Great texture, a bit heavy on the dill for my taste but probably just fine for most people. Slaw was a finely diced cabbage and carrots. Seasoned very well in a sweet vinegar oil. Great tasting slaw. Just the right amount of food too, nothing crazy, It's really hard to finish most of the meals that come out to me at these places, but these guys know how much you can do. Ordered half pound sliced brisket to go, and requested a "lean" cut, which means I was asking not to be served fatty pieces. I expected to be told there would be an upcharge, because after all, I am getting more brisket, less fat. I would have been happy to pay an extra charge. Instead I got slices with lots of fat. I try bbq brisket everywhere I go and requesting and getting lean meat is no problem. I hope Mr Sippy will do the same as their brisket tastes great! read more

The atmosphere of the restaurant is really chill and casual. Everything is very clean. Those deviled eggs are bomb! The smoked turkey and brisket were tender and smoked with care.
