Grits and sausage, brisket w Mediterranean salad and fries.

What a great place to stumble upon as we crawled along Rt 16. Got something completely different, the grits w smoked sausage and pork belly w a corn muffin. Very good at about $14. Friend got a plate with one meat and two sides. They do it oddly there where all meats and sides are paid separately. Comfy seating and good service, although pretty chilly inside tho.

So I came here for the second time and everything was perfection. I was greeted immediately with a warm smile by Cassie so I decided to sit at the bar. Cassie took amazing care of me and the other guests never missing a beat to check on us all. As for my lunch, I started with Brisket French Onion soup, then added the Single barrel (ribs and fries). The ribs were so tender that I could pull the meat easily off the bones with my fingers. I would highly recommend dropping by and trying one of their ever changing specials. Enjoy!

I had heard that Chronicale was doing a piece on 3 NH BBQ joints and I knew who the other two places were so I was excited to hear the 3rd place. Turned out to be this place which I thought was still at the beach? ... Then I find out this is a whole different place I've never heard of so I got really excited and visited the next day. Got what they call the "3 Barrel" 3 Meats 3 Sides. Way too much food but damn it looked glorious. Ribs, Pulled Pork and Brisket with Mac and Cheese, Beans, and Cornbread. Also their Deviled Pickled Eggs I had to try. Brisket, they broke my first rule, BBQ sauce on top, don't ever do that. But other than that it looked traditional, good smoke ring, looking a bit on the drier side. After a few bites I have to be honest ... I couldn't actually tell if it was Brisket. It was dry, No Flavor, No Bark, No of that traditional peppery flavor, I could tell it was at least smoked but I feel like I might have gotten pork belly. The meat itself was okay minus any other flavor you could add to meat. Pulled Pork was very orange in color and obviously stewed in some sauce. There was a fist sized hunk of unpulled unchopped pork right in the middle of it which kind of blew my mind. Cooked well enough, great texture and taste for a sandwich. Ribs. Came with 4 Ribs, no bark to them, good sized ribs. Taste was not super smokey, the meat was very tender, great pork flavor, but there was some other flavor in the ribs that is hard for me to describe. Almost like Ham. The flavor I can relate to the most is like a nice smoked ham. I don't know what they do to get it like that or if they're trying to but it sure did taste like that to me. Sauce. Liquidy and very sweet. Borderline Teriyaki flavor Mac and Cheese, cheese goop on shell pasta with some buttered bread crumbs on top. Didn't look too promising. Ate it and changed my mind immediately. Cheese was a little stringy, with multiple different cheeses, the pasta was nice, some kind of spice was in there and it should have been black pepper but it wasn't. Still pretty good though Beans were a bit orangey too, big pieces of pork or beef fat. Gravy was thick and really stuck to the spoonful. Bean flavor was the most prevalent, a bit sweet, maybe a tiny tad bit over cooked because the beans just exploded. I don't typically like the meat in my beans, cowboy style, but in this particular one the meat actually paired well. Deviled Eggs, Looked good, smelled good, pickled a bit with some sweet bits of bacon cubes and maybe some dill herb, maybe fennel. Tasted really good but of course you need to like pickled stuff and that mustard taste of deviled eggs. The pickling is mainly what I could taste but the spices mixed well with it. Awesome flavor. Maybe not quite as "pickley" as some pickle lovers might be hoping for but it's definitely there. And I personally like my hard boiled eggs still a bit soft in the whites so it has that nice jello kind of texture, these ones are a bit harder like the premade ones you might get from a store. Still will buy them every time though. Cornbread is sold as a side in the form of 2 little small muffins. Moist, buttery, kernels still in the bread, very good cornbread. Came with some cinnamon butter that was a bit over cinnamony. Took me a second to realize that this was actually jalapeno cornbread. Very subtle but I just happened to notice some green veggie in the bread and realized it was a sliver of jalapeno. Very good ratio too, just enough to get that fun flavor of the pepper. So I'd say their sides are killing it. Their meat is more on the unique side but could use a little work.

Ok Seacoast fans.....here it comes the long awaited opening of Smoking Barrels on rt125 in the great town of Barrington NH. Giving you a sneak peak of what's to come. The Grand Opening is like this week!!! It is well worth the wait trust me!!!! I got a chance to sneak in prior to grand opening and gorge myself in all the goodies. I love the way they rediscover the establishment in the country style including a 1 piece 30 foot bar top that took several strong backs to install. The goal - the food......mouth watering, all good across the board. Killer ribs and brisket that's so good already but even better with the bbq sauce. Order extra cornbread, it's like the best ever!!!!! Try this place out, it's a well needed breath of fresh air in the area, come on in to the new location on rt125 in Barrington. The

I'm from Texas and a fan of Central Texas BBQ brisket, so I typically eye most BBQ I see in New England with a bit of suspicion. I still try it anyway hoping that it will be great, and this place does not disappoint. Just to get it out of the way, the brisket is not Texas style, but it is delicious. The fat is perfectly rendered on the fatty parts and nice and crispy. The lean parts also have crispy fat, and it is moist and cut correctly against the grain. The sauce was good, and not overdone, and the crispy onions were a nice touch. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the area.

Pulled pork,(amazing) ribs, pork belly, bacon, andouille sausage, sweet mashed potatoes, corn bread and beans.. beans amazing!!

I have to say this is the best BBQ i have had up here in the Northeast in a very long time.. the food was excellent, we got the Pig pen and truffle fries!! the service was excellent.. a definite must try!!

    Piggy pile w extra brisket

Flavor and the tenderness are on point. The only thing I didn't like as much as othet menus was mac and cheese. A bit too greasy and not enough cheese for me but beans were the best one I've ever had in my life. Recommend mustard for sausages and spicy sauce for anything!

Waitresses were great, fast service however the food was dryer than the Sahara desert and flavorless. Best thing was the hand cut fries.

Everyone within the establishment was friendly and apologetic that our order wasn't ready when they said it would be, we waited maybe an extra 5 minutes, not a huge deal at all. It is so much more comfortable and appealing, the couch in front of the fireplace is a real winner! The menu has a lot of traditional favorites with elevated ingredients and cooked perfectly. The service is friendly and professional, and they have a choice of seating - at the bar, at several high tops or at tables for 8, 6 or 4. I was in the mood for a burger, and ordered the Fenway Burger with hand cut fries. The Fenway has a beef burger and Italian sausage, griddled peppers and onions with Provolone cheese on a toasted golden bun. When I cut it in half it to eat it, the juice soaked into the bun perfectly. The fries were awesome and salted just right. Definitely a home run! Les had the Cowboy Quesadilla from a pretty inventive selection of quesadillas. It had pulled pork, barbeque sauce, jalapeños and fresh made thin onion rings with cheese. The tortilla was fresh and slightly flexible even after cooking so you could bite it easily without it bending or the filling falling out. The flavor was awesome and the texture was perfect, the heat was just enough and went so well with the sauce. It's his new favorite and he's still talking about it. I guess that means a return trip and soon!
