I just picked up "2 yards" of garden blend. If you think you'll get the same scoops you get from other places like Boring Bark as an example you'll be very disappointed. I barely got 2 level scoops and they don't care to give you anything more. Customer service is run by young adults who don't listen when you ask for a description of the different blends, they just hand you a pricing sheet. I was the former Office Manager at Mr. Tree. This is a good business on the ground, meaning the people that come to your house, work on your trees, clean up and leave, are excellent professionals. The office staff are usually friendly, but overworked and vastly undertrained in customer service. It is a high stress office. It's a family ran and owned business, that has reached the stage where it needs to be a professional incorporation, and ran as such. It is not. If I were the owner I would wipe out all of the family politics, and turn operations over to professionals. That said, they are a clean business. In the tree industry there are a lot of drugs. Wilbur the owner does not tolerate drugs and constantly drug tests his staff. Other tree services don't, and they don't have the running track record Mr Tree has. I would use them to trim my trees, or remove any trees needed from my property. You couldn't have anybody better on the ground than Mr Tree. They are good we'll meaning men. I would not recommend their Landscape Supply Onsite. It's ill managed, and I fielded more complaints about their products and deliveries than I did anything else. But, perhaps that has changed. Judge for yourself. Overall I give them an honest 5 stars, no business is perfect. Call them today for your trees. read more

Travis and his team went way beyond my expectations: I needed work on 3 separate areas- my neighbor's overhanging limbs, my tree of heaven resting on my roof and a very old walnut tree which needed dead wood removal. They showed up on time, did the job quickly and encouraged me to approve or disapprove of their work as they worked. For extra points, they blew all the fuzz and other junk off my roof and grounds- it was beautiful. I had used them before for a tree removal and stump grinding, so this was a natural. I'm giving one star because the job still isn't done. We had them remove multiple Arborvitae from our yard including grinding all the stumps. Removal was done great and ahead of schedule. A different crew came back to do the stump grinding. All the debris was left behind. Maybe that's standard but when we cleaned it up we noticed they missed three stumps. My wife called and was told they'd come finish it that week. That was two weeks ago. She called the original salesmen and he said it would be done before this weekend. Still not done. I don't like giving bad reviews but this is ridiculous read more

Quick response when I requested an estimate to prune 4 large gum trees and 2 limbs from a large oak. Price was very competitive and work scheduled. I called Mr Tree to make and appointment for a quote to cut back a large oak tree on the neighbors side which had very large branches overhanging our rental house. Josh called be me back to set up a time. Even-though I did not have to be there to receive a quote, I did want to discuss the project. We had a time set to meet one morning. I drove 13 miles from my house to meet at the job site. 5 minutes after we were to meet I receive a call that he was stuck in Portland on an emergency job and he will be out ASAP. That did not suit well because of my now 26 mile round trip for nothing. A earlier call would have been apprenticed. My renter stayed around to wait since it was going to be at least two more hours. She then text me a photo of the quote and that if it was agreeable I need to call the office and schedule for them to come out and do the job. Couple days later I called the office and was told that Josh will call me to set up a time. Days went by but no call. Since I had Josh's cell phone number from when he call that he would be late, I call he directly. Said I called the office but I had not received a response to schedule and that I would like to get the project completed and if he could please call me back..............a week went by.. Nothing!!!! This was no customers service and I call another company for another quote. $250 LESS !!!!! Two days after this quote my renter calls me and tells me she was gone for and hour and a half and MR Tree was almost finished with trimming the branches!!!!!!! They never call either one of us. Just showed up at THEIR convenience. To top it off, not pun intended....a week later I received a call from billing asking If I received the invoice. "No, I did not. How did you send it? Through the mail or email?", I asked. "Through the mail." the lady answered. "When did you send it?"....slight pause..."Yesterday." Seriously!!!!! Called them on a Saturday. (24/7 according to website). Guy who answered phone very friendly, told me he was driving and would call me back Sunday to set up a time to come out on Tuesday. Reasonable, Perfect. No call. I called them back on Wednesday. Set an appt for following Monday 10am. Around 10:30, I called them asking what was going on? Girl who answers says "let me call him", puts me on hold. All fine. Gets back on and says "he didn't answer, can I call you back, I'll track him down". 11:10 rolls around, no guy and no call. So rude. At this point, even with staffing shortages, at the least they could have done was to call me and let me know he's running behind. I call them back, same girl answers and says I didn't speak to her but transfers me to someone else, Julie, who knows my name (?). She says "he's running behind, can we reschedule?". Uh, nope. Go somewhere else folks. I wasn't asking for much and feel a simple call to me would have made all the difference in the world, so take note. read more

Mr. Tree Inc, especially Cisco, Paul and Willie is as good as it gets. My 20 year old overgrown trees are now elegant, tall, lots of sunshine in my yard and my trees are healthy (they took all the hanging, dead branches off, reshaped the tree and removed limbs that were problematic). While onsite, I asked if they could take out some huge overlimb in the front yard and they gave me an incredibly reasonable price and finished it. My neighbors are all looking at my yard for a change, with admiration. I highly, highly recommend this company. In fact, I already have a few more trees I am going to have them trim. We had a tree from Forest Park fall on our house recently during Portland's bad winter weather. Josh from Mr Tree came out to assess the situation the morning after we contacted them and had a crew at the house just a few days after that. They brought a wood chipper that took care of the debris and had the job done before noon. The roof and driveway were cleaner than even before the fallen tree. The crew did a great job on the tree, but left a mess. Did not clean up all of leabs and cutting. One of the crew dumped out the basket incert beside my driveway and left it. I had to clean up the mess that I paid them to clean. They have very poor customer service. They were to come out on fri. Did not call to let me know that they would not come out on that day. I called them after waiting, got the run around by the office. Was told they would check and get back to me asap. Waited no call. I called back more runaround. NOT HAPPY!!! I used MR. TREE in Sept of last year, and found that in May of this year my IRRIGATION PIPE and ELECTRICAL had been SEVERED by the stump grinding. Come to find out there is "fine print" stating NO CLAIM for damage. Had I been alerted the pipe was broken, it would have saved me $250 to trouble shoot the issue with an irrigation "sprinkler guy!" These guys have saved our home now 3 times. They are the only ones that came out during the ice storm and responded to our needs. We have a 100 yr old locust that had curled over the home and other companies told us that they would take it off our out of the house when it came down, but Mike and Don stepped up, brought out the boom in the ice to save our home. First of all the only reason they get two stars is simply for the workers that are top notch. As far as management and follow up this was the worst experience I have ever had. Work stared in May and was supposed to be a 5 day project. Was just finalized last week in August ! Shrubs were removed but the stumps we also payed for were only half way done . The new plants and rocks were planted and finished the week of. 4 stumps were never done and after 7 calls yes 7! They finally showed up in late August to finish. Still had two stumps never grounded that have now started to sprout showing growth which will lead to another issue. I left over 4 messages alone with the gal at the front desk for someone to call and never received a call back even after explaining my frustration ,she was obviously in over her head answering phones and taking messages. So in the end charged full price for a project never finished and over 90 days to finish. Again the workers were great but wow how they stay in business is a shock . Still have lots of work to be done and unfortunately they will not be the ones to do it . read more

I used this company last year and they were flakey with their appointment and rescheduled several times before finally coming and removing 3 trees. Saying they had emergency tree calls that take priority, I delt with Shane. He finally had his guys completed the job but did not remove the stumps that I paid to have removed so I had to call them back. They eventually finished the job. I am very patient person and so this year I thought I would give them another chance with another large tree I need removed. I called and scheduled an appointment for an estimate for today...(6/12/19). First appointment was between 1-2 pm. They called to reschedule to 2-3pm, I said okay. They called again to reschedule to 4pm, I said okay. They just stood me up. No one called, no one showed...just nothing. Being that this is the exact same thing AGAIN 1 year later it is not a coincidence it is just plain BAD customer service. Sorry but I can not recommend this company. read more

The guys who came to do the work were fine, but Diane is not a good communicator! She came, gave a quote and a date, period. She didn't say what time they would come (7 a.m.) or mention grinding the stump. When I asked, she said ok, they'd come back to do it. Again, no explanation that folks from the city have to come look give your site the ok first. Then the stump grinder came, and only ground the stump to the surface--no use at all, if you want to plant anything where the tree was! I would not use Mr. Tree again. read more

Great job, very clean and safe with the tree removal. During last wind event a tree in the business parking lot came down - crushed an employee's car and trapped other cars. Adjuster, Crystal, was prompt with coming by, taping off the danger area (after PGE crew took part of tree off the power lines) and making certain that the crew arrived as soon as they could the next day (we were not alone with trees down and were third or fourth in line). All garbage from the tree was cleaned up (well, except for the leaves on the one car). THE STUMP, WHICH IS OUT OF THE GROUND AND LYING ON ITS SIDE, WAS TO BE GONE PER THE CREW MEMBER WHO SPOKE WITH ME. STILL THERE. Bob gave us the best price out of the 4 quotes we got from other companies plus he educated me on how to validate the integrity of a business (their liability insurance, licensing, previous claims etc). OK, so they came out two days later. My neighbors and I watched them take down 3 old pine trees that were way too close to the house. We felt the thud as chunks fell to the ground. They stacked the wood and two days after that they came back to grind the stumps. When they ground the stumps, they put up a temp barrier so no chunks would fly and hit my house, people walking by, cars or the neighbors house. I think they did a great job, they cleaned up my yard, the street and my neighbors yard too before they left. This company has all the right equipment to get the job done.
