Showed up on time and the management followed up with a call to make sure I was happy with the job. I had several large trees that needed trimming up and they can as a crew, liked like the worked in teams, cleaned everything up and we done within 1 1/2 hours. To my satisfaction, Duran Tree Services removed the 2 trees we agreed upon and left the work area on my front yard clean. At first glance and for awhile I believed they did a good job in removing those trees and cleaning up. BUT, when us homeowners got to spend the time checking out their work, we discovered that they did very minimal amount of work, left 99% of the roots spread nearest the top soil untouched, left half of the stump intact, and simply covered them all with tons of wood chips to hide those that should have been easily removed but left because of their laziness and zero integrity. These workers are sneaky and dishonest in my eyes. The amount of work and resources spent we have had to do after them convinced me that they scammed us so easily. We absolutely DO NOT and CANNOT recommend their work and their work ethic to any homeowner out there. read more

I am still wondering what happened to the customer service with Duran Tree Service. We have used them in the past and have not had an issue. On 6/24 I sent Gus an email requesting a quote and waited for a response. No response so I followed up with the same email on 6/28. He responded on 6/29 and we set up 7/1 for him to stop by to provide a quote. He came by and said yes, they could do the work and said he would put a quote together for me. Waited 11 days and and received nothing so I sent another email on 7/12 asking for status of the quote. Nothing. No response. So finally on 7/22 I sent yet another email which read: Hello Gus - I have sent emails but don't seem to get any type of response from you. I have checked my spam emails, etc. but do not see anything from you. Please disregard my request for an estimate. I will look elsewhere for this service. I hope other potential customers are not experiencing the same. =( read more

I wouldn't actually be able to tell you how Duran Tree service in terms of actually delivering a service. I exchanged text with a person named Gus and received a quote that seemed fair so on 4/16/2020 I scheduled for them to come to my home Saturday 5/2/2020 at 10 am to take out a tree. I used the online scheduler offered on their website to do this. On the day of the event I made arrangements to be available and had the entire drive way where the tree is located cleared out for their crew and equipment. The morning of the job literally 30 mins before they were supposed to be at my home I got a call from Gus stating that they weren't coming because of covid-19 and then he also complained that my location was a little far away from where he normally works in Hillsboro but I told him I was in north Portland during our text and he received my address when I scheduled the appointment in mid April! He said that he needed to reschedule for during the week. I dont have a problem obviously with a service canceling because of everything that's happening right now, but why not update your websites scheduler so that appointments cant be booked on weekends if your not offering this and furthermore since I scheduled the appointment on 4/16/2020 why not call sometime within that two weeks even just a day or two ahead to let me know you need to reschedule? Totally unprofessional and I suspect the late cancellation had more to do with not wanting to come out on a rainy day than it did with covid-19. If you go to their website right now you can still book for a Saturday. Obviously I did not choose to reschedule because its hard to respect a business that doesn't value the time of others and these folks clearly did not on the day they were scheduled at my house. Side note I did text Gus again later that day (as he requested) and was going to reschedule but it then took him another two days to even get back to me about that, LOL, wow. read more

I urgently needed twenty large arborvitae and two sizable lilac trees/bushes transplanted. Gus was very sympathetic to my time constraints and came right over and gave me a very fair price. In fact it was so reasonable that I thought perhaps the quality of the work would not be satisfactory. I was incorrect! The work was done professionally and timely by a hard working crew and I was delighted with the outcome. Duran Tree Service gets a well-earned five stars. read more

I have had some trees fall on properties that I own. Twice now I have used Duran Tree Service to come in and get rid of the fallen trees. They are fast and efficient, do a very thorough job, clean up the area afterward, and are very competitively priced. I keep a list of various contractors and and service providers that I can trust to do right by me. Duran is going on that list. read more

I used their web based estimate request and he came right in schedule. I had very large tree removed plus a couple of trees trimmed. The team did amazing! All done quickly yet safely. Plus the cut up the wood from the trunk which I wanted to keep, cleaned up all mess, and ground the stump. Overall i was very happy with the service and the price. Luis and the crew did a great job cutting down a big pine tree in front of our home that scared a couple other company's (not to mention expensive) ...but they weren't phased by how big it was ,they were at our home within a couple of days of me calling them ...they are affordable and professional ...finished quick and left our place all nice and clean ,I would highly recommend them to anyone read more

They're hard to get a hold of after they've been hired. They never answer their main number, always get voicemail. Have to leave multiple messages via phone/text before anyone will respond. On the day I received the bid, 3 weeks prior to tree removal, they told me they would call to have utilities marked, which is required. 3 days prior to scheduled stump removal I called to see why utilities hadn't been marked yet, and verify we were still on schedule for the stump removal. Was told the "call before you dig" agency was probably backed up so I called them myself and the "call before you dig" agency came out within 2 days and marked utility lines. Duran tree service obviously didn't even call to have the lines marked. The stump removal would've had to been rescheduled for another month out if I hadn't called to have the lines marked. Gus Duran emailed me and Hugo Sanchez called me the night before the scheduled tree removal to let me know they were still planning on being there at the designated time. I then let them know I had the utility lines marked since it was left up to me to arrange it. Then the morning they were supposed to arrive nobody showed up. I called them an hour after they were due to be here. Hugo told me nobody was coming because the stump grinder was in the shop. I asked why nobody called me to let me know. Was told that they called me a couple days ago but I didn't answer. I told them that they should have left a message, texted me, or emailed me and that I'd even talked to him to confirm the night before our scheduled removal and he didn't say anything about the stump grinder being in the shop. Then Hugo made the excuse that the girl (supposedly manning the phone) should've called. I ended up missing a day of work for nothing. Steer clear of this company - no matter how low the price they quote you might be. read more
