I contracted PDX to remove a huge old cherry tree that was on a slope behind my house; response from the office was immediate, estimate was within my range, and services performed in a professional and timely manner. These guys are great! They provided a free estimate with options to fit my budget. Arrived for the estimate and the job when they said they would. They removed a 60' cedar tree that was in a difficult spot in my back yard and was heavily leaning towards my house. They even cleaned off a ton of needles off my roof and out of my yard. Amazing service from Josiah and his crew! Not only was Josiah responsive and competitively priced, his work was impeccable. He and his crew took down a very large Douglas Fir that was dangerously close to our home. It was an enormous tree, but his crew had the knowledge to safely remove it without damaging property, and they were the only company willing to do it without a crane (which likely would have ruined our driveway at great expense to us). The crew cleaned up entirely every day and took extra care to protect our roof, siding, fence and lawn. I've had other trees removed and trimmed by other companies and their responsiveness, professionalism, safety and cleanliness of the job site didn't come close to PDX Tree Service. I've already personally recommended Josiah to several of my neighbors who were happy with their services as well. I selected PDX Tree Service over two other companies because they came recommended by someone I trust, and because their pricing was competitive. I chose them even though they were booked out the longest, but I asked Josiah to put me on his wait list in case of a cancellation. Sure enough, he called me a week or so later and asked if they could do the job the next day. The crew he sent out (Jordan, JP and Brig) were efficient and courteous, and they got the job done right the first time. They removed a 40 foot tree and trimmed 3 others in about 4 to 5 hours. They left my yard better than they found it, and cleaned up my driveway and the street where they ran the chipper. Highly recommended! read more

After reading the reviews here I was excited to get an estimate from Josiah. So I called on a Friday morning and he said he would come to look at the work that afternoon. That afternoon he called to say he wasn't going to make it and we made another appointment for the following Thursday at 10:00. I rearranged my schedule so I could be home to meet him. At 10:30 I called him to find out where he was. He said his truck broke down and he was getting it fixed and he would get to my place at 3:00. He never came and he never called and I have no idea why he blew me off. Doesn't appear to be the actions of someone who is interested in good customer service. read more

We've had Josiah and his crew out to our house three times now and every time they impress. They've trimmed an out of control tree, chopped it down and most recently we had them out to grind out the tree stump and chase down the roots. I highly recommend Josiah and his team. You must hire this company!! After a limb fell and damaged our cars a few weeks ago, we knew that tree has to go (and it was dead). They came in today and had it completely removed and cleaned up in 2 hours! Our yard and driveway is the cleanest it's been in a month. The crew was quick, professional and most of all used the best safety practices for crew and my home. Not to mention affordable.
