I authorized $1,600 in work described as safety-related, then got a second opinion and was told some of the recommended repairs were not even needed at that time. Everyone was friendly, but the conflicting recommendations left me uncomfortable. I won't be returning and would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before approving costly repairs. After my experience, I'm honestly surprised to see so many nearly 5-star reviews.

"This car needs checked for a blown head gasket - before anything else, please do a compression test". But now, was the compression test done? No, it never was. Instead, let's go off on a tangent, change the water pump, new coolant, the Serpentine belt, and drive it all over. A week later, I get the call I had been trying to avoid. "Hey, guess what? Your head gasket is blown and guess what? "You owe us $464 for the water pump, the Serpentine belt, Labor and all this coolant. " "If you want us to repair the head gasket , well that's another $4000 and takes about a month...." "Hey, I never told you to do that work and parts first." I did not approve any of that.... They are just guessing at the problem - after I told them what was wrong with it. I'm not a rich guy that can just write blank checks at will. I would not recommend this place to anybody. These other people on here say they've had good experiences there. Maybe they overspent or something, I don't know. McBride's does NOT listen to the customer at all!

DANGER! PLEASE READ!! I went to Tire Choice for a wiggle in my steering wheel. They told me I…read moreneeded a new intermediate steering shaft and it would cost me $770, which I paid and waited over a month for at that time. The mechanic mentioned he was waiting on AutoZone for the part, so I called to confirm and was told by autozone that they were indeed waiting on my part even though I couldn't order it as a layman. The wiggle was NOT fixed when this 'new' part was installed so I was promised a new clock spring to attempt to fix it. This took another month. After which it was STILL not fixed. This entire time I was repeatedly assured that my car was SAFE TO DRIVE. My wheel shook, but what did I know? It made me nervous to drive highway so I was topping a hill on a back road going about 45mph when my tire blew. The drive home was...interesting. Even with the donut on-my wheel wasn't shaking! I went to Tire Choice to tell them this and they sold me tires and sent me on my way. The next day, I was reversing and straightening out to leave a friend's house when my steering wheel KLUNKED and I lost the ability to control the tires. As my new mechanic put it, the part DISINTEGRATED while I was driving it!! My new mechanic informed me that the intermediate steering shaft for my car could ONLY be ordered through a dealership! He also fixed the wiggly wheel for $25, btw. Tire Choice is part of Monro Corporate and they are only covering the repairs by the new mechanic and they have taken a week to review the case (never once reaching out to me), and are telling me to it will be another week before the check is even MAILED! I am still in the hole for the $770 charge for the unnecessary parts they installed that caused TWO NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCES IN A ROW. This has been a massive strain on my finances and a drain on my mental health for what should have been a simple fix. I have also never received even a simple apology at any point. They do not seem to care about their customers' safety in the slightest. Thank you for taking the time to read this whole thing. It's been a nightmare.

Very disappointed with my experience…read more I brought my car in for a routine oil change and tire rotation. The oil was changed and the tires were rotated, but shortly afterward the right front started shaking badly while driving. I took the car back and was told that one of the wheel studs was bad. I was charged to have the stud replaced, but the shaking was still there. I returned again and was told the tires were balanced. After that, the car still shook. At that point I took the vehicle to another repair shop on Massillon Road in Springfield. They inspected the tire and discovered that there was water inside it. What I don't understand is how this wasn't discovered here. The problem started immediately after the tires were rotated, I brought the car back more than once specifically because of the shaking, and the tires were supposedly balanced. I would think that during a proper inspection and balancing of that wheel, something this unusual should have raised a red flag. Instead, I paid for another repair, made multiple trips back, and still left with the exact problem I came back to have corrected. Another shop was ultimately able to find the issue. Based on my experience, I have very little confidence in the tire work or troubleshooting that was done here.
