I called in an hour before they closed and explained the situation. The lady said "we can see you first thing if you come in at 7:30 tomorrow morning". Showed up at 7:29 and the gentleman working said - "I'm fully booked this morning - no way I can even look at it until midday." I told him about my conversation with the lady who took my call the night before and he said - "yea they'll say anything just to get you off the phone". Why would they do that? The brake light switch needed to be replaced. Was quoted $134.00 to have it replaced. An hour after I left the car I received a phone call telling me now $290.00. They had my car and the keys in their shop. When I freaked out at the new charge, I was told that I should be happy that they got a good price on the switch. She called me for advice because the staff member told her that the tire could not be repaired, and that a replacement Yokohama tire would be about $250. My Daughter texted a photo of the tire (attached), showing the nail to me, and it was obvious that it probably could be repaired. Long story short, I had her bring her car to the Discount Tire shop on Harrison Ave. in Cary.. she just picked it up, they repaired the tire and did not even charge her !!! Shame on you Mr. Tire ! I went for an oil change and made a 12:30 appointment and I arrived at 12:15. I entered the waiting area and stayed until 12:40 and left to go to McDonalds which was next door.I returned at 1:20 and my vehicle had not been touched. The online ad clearly stated that your store had a one hour guarantee of service. The store representatives acted as they had never heard of such a policy. So finally my vehicle was taken to the service area at 1:40 and i was able to leave at 2:14 . I ended up having to pay when I should have not. I've been a customer for years but will not in the future due to false advertising. My time is valuable and this is poor customer service. read more

They are plain and simple THIEVES!! Never go there. Here is why. I went there for an oil change and tire rotation today on December 15, 2019, on a Sunday. The front-desk gentleman named SAM seemed pretty reasonable and professional. From the receipt, I think his real name MOHAMED MEAWAD. I requested an oil change and tire rotation. He said it's gonna cost me $85. He said they'll also top up all underhood fluids and will give me a discount of $10. So it came down to $75 plus taxes. I know you can do an oil change and tire rotation for less elsewhere but considering it is Sunday and good Google reviews, I gave them a try. But before I went there I marked two tires and one wheel. Let's be more specific here. I marked the FRONT RIGHT (FR) AND REAR RIGHT (RR) tires and the FRONT RIGHT wheel (FR) with a pen. You can see them in the PHOTOS. I learned this trick from a YouTube video. So within an hour, SAM told me my car has been serviced and everything looks fine except I have to do a WHEEL ALIGNMENT ASAP though I never felt like I needed a wheel alignment. I even asked him when I should come for the wheel alignment as I was very pleased up until that point. By the way, just remember he never mentioned that they do free tire rotation and I just walked out to go to my car. I never looked at the receipt until I was in the car. The first thing I did when I went to my car is to check if they have rotated the tires. AND TO MY SHOCK, THEY DIDN'T. I got totally pissed off. In the meantime, SAM OR MOHAMED MEAWAD also got outside to assist another customer. I called him and told him that they didn't ROTATE MY TIRES. Now he started giving me lame excuses like: 1. We do a free tire rotation, you can do it now if you want. 2. You need a wheel alignment and without alignment, there's no point rotating the tires. I reminded him that I specifically told him to do TIRE ROTATION and he never mentioned that they DIDN'T DO THE TIRE ROTATION during the whole time I was inside and not even when I paid him. If they don't do tire rotation without WHEEL ALIGNMENT, they should have told me that before. Look at the receipt, it's even mentioned they did TIRE ROTATION for NO CHARGE. So obviously they LIED THE WHOLE TIME and got caught. I told SAM OR MOHAMED MEAWAD that I came here seeing all those good Google reviews but I'll let people know the truths. He got angry at this point. He told me they DON'T NEED A CUSTOMER LIKE ME HERE AND I SHOULD GET OUT. I did get out. Now I'm not sure if they even changed my oil and all those complimentary inspections they claimed they did. Guys, please make sure to NOTE THE OIL LEVEL OR MARK YOUR TIRES BEFORE YOU COME to this place and match them after the service. Your ignorance is the reason these THIEVES have a 4.5 rating. Go to your dealer even if they charge you more. I don't trust these small stores anymore. read more

Maybe I shouldn't complain if I accepted their price, but I didn't have much choice. My car needed the repair and I could not drive it. I pulled into this Mr. Tire because it was the closest shop to me. Turns out I needed new spark plugs. He suggested I also get new coils. I said fine since my car is over 70K miles and has never had them replaced. I was charged $927 for the work!! $125 to diagnose the problem, $229 for the parts, and a whopping $470 for labor and then some miscellaneous charges. I googled what it should have cost and it was about 1/3 of this. I am never using a non-RepairPal center. I was so ripped off. read more

Today, I go in for two new front tires ($80 a piece) and a $30 nspection and the final bill is $360??? Do the math. Long story short we needed new tires so we shopped and found the nearest place that had tires that fit my car. During this process they found one damaged tire gauge sensor. The person at the front showed us the damaged part and it did seem like a small piece was chipped. So we bought four tires and the one sensor they said was broken. No issues so far. Well the next day I noticed the tire pressure indicator light is on so I was concerned that maybe there's something wrong with the new tires or the new gauge sensor or maybe it's just the light. So I took it back to get the tires checked or the sensor or get the light turned off if the tires and sensors are fine. They "check" the car the tires are fine and later The person from the front tells me that since the one sensor is new it must be the other three that could be causing the problem because they degrade or die over time. So why are my other three tire sensors an issue all of a sudden? You're telling me when you were changing all four tires you never noted that the other sensors were possibly a problem. So either your mechanic didn't do a thorough job or you're making it appear as if we need the other three sensors replaced after the fact. And now after taking it back and learning that the tires are fine you still didn't reset the indicator light? The reason I took it back was because of the tire pressure light. If it is always on, how would I know if the tires are in need of air or not. Am I supposed to just let it be on the whole time and ignore it and hope it's a false alarm? So I became suspicious and told him it seemed shady that all the other sensors are suddenly degraded or dead. So the person at the front suggested I get another opinion. So I got a second opinion at another tire place. The other place said we 100% can't confirm if your gauge sensors are actually the problem without taking it out but they would reset the light for free. They didn't try to make it look like something else they straight up just reset the light for free. I called Mr. Tire and spoke to the person at the front after my second opinion and told him what I learned and asked why they didn't just reset the light and that is when he lied to me again and said they did reset it. So if you reset it why, was the light still on ? When I got my second opinion at the other tire place they were able to reset the light with no problem. In fact it still off right now. When A customer comes to you to check something as simple as the tire pressure indicator light and your customer has to go to another place to get it resolved, there's something wrong with that picture. read more

I thought everything was great, turns out I was wrong. I went in to get my front two tires changed to pass a state inspection. The guy recommended that I change all four so I said sure let's do it. Well a few days after, I noticed the front tire leaking out of the wheelwell, they took no care in even trying to seal the tire properly. I tried to fix it and a day later it started leaking out AGAIN on my way to work. I turned around and drove 2 minutes down the road to them only for them to tell me that I have to now pay again for a brand new tire AND the steelie to be replaced costing another 400?! I talked to a family member who has been a mechanic for over 30 years and when he contacted them on their service he was told it was all my fault and I declined them fixing the steelie and I declined a hazard warranty which neither of those WERE OFFERED TO ME when I was there originally. They just tried to upsell me on BRAKES AND BRAKE FLUID when I was there. THEY NEVER MENTIONED ANYTHING ABOUT THE STEELIE. My tires on there previously NEVER LEAKED. These guys are awful if you're unfamiliar about cars and they really don't care about the customer. They'll blame you when their techs can't even put a tire on properly. I will never go to any Mr. Tire location. Terrible company. Be careful everyone. read more

They push services on you that you don't need when they don't even perform the ones you ask for properly, causing you to come back... and pay more. From the initial phone call with Steven to the oil change experience with Josh, they were extremely polite & helpful. The told me in advance that it would take about an hour to top off fluids, rotate tires, etc and it did. Much better than being told 20 minutes and it's an hour. After years I tried them again, wanted a simple state inspection. I called ahead to ask when it is a good time and I was told now. Ok, they are about 10 min away from me. I entered the store wearing my mask. A gentlemen behind the counter was talking to another customer. No problem, I keep distance and wait in line. Then I heard 'give me 5 minutes'. ok, and then there was 'I am talking to you' and the gentlemen behind the counter looked at me... His mask was below the chin. hhmmm... After he finished the first customer the gentlemen behind the counter asked, what can I do for you? looking at me. Before I got the chance to answer he picked up the ringing phone and started to attend the phone customer. This seemed to be a longer engagement as well based on what I could here and the printer printing. So I left. Will I ever be back to this location, not in a million years. I got my state inspection at a Jiffy Lube. In and out 25 minutes counted from entering the lot to leaving the lot. They will get more business from me in the future. read more

This place is horrible! It will scam you out of a lot of money. I came in today for a regular oil change and state inspection. The staff asked us to do a whole list of wheel alignment, 4-wheel balance and air filter. We do not have much knowledge about car but agreed to do those out of safety concern. However, they charge a terribly high air filter cost of $137! We later called other places: Jiffy lube recommended us to simply purchase a filter from auto zone and they can teach us how to install; Just tire only charge $46 for both cabin and engine air filter including labor fee. Both places are much better and more reasonable than Mr. Tire! Aside from the unreasonable high air filter cost, Mr Tire attracts customers by using a $34.99 oil change, but they would charge extra for oil filter ($14.5). Mr Tire also has high shop supply fee. Hope everyone else will not experience this ridiculous pricing! read more

Bought 4 tires several years ago from Mr. Tire. From day 1 I got a shimmy in the steering wheel at about 65 mph. I rarely drive on the highway and it was fine at lower speeds so didn't take it back right away. After a couple of years had the tires rotated and rebalanced. Still had exactly the same problem so I assumed the tires were out of round. Then 2 weeks ago I bought 4 new tires and had Mr. Tire mount and balance, optimistic this would solve the shimmy problem. I mentioned to the desk guy that my previous tires always had a shake at highway speeds. He said if it was a balance issue the shake would be at all speeds and just get worse as the speed increased, so must be something else, although they didn't find or mention any other issues while putting on either set of tires. Test drive the next day and the problem was even worse, strong steering wheel shake from 60-70 mph. Decided I should get a 2nd opinion, so took it to another local auto shop with a good reputation. They did a test drive, verified the shimmy, checked the wheels which they said were fine, and rebalanced the tires. They said all 4 tires were out of balance. I did a test drive the next day and the problem was totally fixed, smooth as silk at all speeds. So, Mr. Tire can't balance tires, and they don't know the symptom of unbalanced tires. The only good thing is I contacted corporate customer service and they gave me a full refund for the mount/balance. But you've been warned, and I won't be going back there for any service. read more

Customer service was good, but it just took too long. Like most auto places, it takes forever and nowhere near what they quote you. I made an appointment and was told it would be an hour when I arrived. I waited with my young son, which is never easy and it's pushing 2 hours as we sit here. I long for a place where you can just get an oil change and get out. 2 hours is ridiculous in my opinion especially with an appointment and quote of 60 mins. Forever grateful for this store and its team. Had a tire issue 1 hr outside of Raleigh; went to a Firestone store, and was advised they couldn't help me at all and I could probably make it to Durham. Thankfully I did, attended my event and requested an appointment at Mr, Tire. They got me in right away. A short hour later, I was out the door and driving safely back home again. First time at this place today. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Originally went in to check my tire pressures because of the sensor indicator. Sam quickly met me outside and checked all of my tires. I then asked him about checking breaks and he proceeded to explain their process, thoroughly. He said they could check to see what I needed to get done and gave me the option to do it right away, if I would like. He even offered to drop me off at home instead of waiting there. After waiting maybe 30min, Sam discussed their findings with me, which was to change front breaks ( I already knew I needed that) and rear drums. I asked why did I needed that and Sam took me to the mechanic, J. Holloway. He showed me what his concerns were and explained how it would become an issue. They both made me feel comfortable in their space. I was given all the information I needed. I didn't feel pressured to purchase any products or services. Look forward to using them again. I brought my car in for an inspection. They were quick and charged the standard fee. They have free wi-if, which really helps those like me who work remotely. I have two gripes with this place. First, the waiting room and bathroom are dirty- especially the bathroom. They should never let a bathroom provided for public use get into this shape. I was told that they'd be done in an hour and a half to two hours. So, I went home to do some yard work. Four hours later, I came back and the guys acts like I'm crazy and says "we haven't even gotten it in." When I told him it had been 4 hours he tried to make some excuse about how there were already others in front of me when I came in. I understand waiting my turn, but if you tell me that you'll be finished in a certain amount of time and I show up twice as long later, you better have at least started the work. To top it all off, when I tell the guy that I'm going to go elsewhere, he gets mouthy with me and tells me how happy he is that I'm leaving! That was my first and last time in this place. read more

I was told by Mr. Tire I needed new axles again and it would cost me 600.00 which is impossible since I just replaced them... I took the car to my dad to take a look and it turns out I needed an Engine Mount. I found the part for 65.99 and now having him put it in. I went in with 2 rims with old tires that needed new tires. I also brought my own new tires for them to swap. I know this usually takes about 5 minutes to complete (I used to work at a car shop when I was in high school). The guy tells me it takes about 45 minutes to an hour to do it. Then says it's going to be longer because they are also busy. I called him out saying it's fine they are busy, but I used to work at a car shop and I know it takes less than 10 minutes to swap tires and inflate them. The tire rodeo had almost everyone do 2 tires in less than 3 minutes. He didn't like being called out on his fib, and then proceeded to defend his 45 minute estimate by acting like that included the busy time. He then told me they probably wouldn't be able to get to it that night (although they had hours left and almost no one waiting in the waiting room on a 5 minute job). I pretty much dropped it and let the guy win and just walked out of the shop. I saw at least 4 techs working in the background.... the clerk tells me he only has 2 techs. How can I trust their company when their clerks straight up lie to my face like that? No I don't want you touching my vehicle! read more

When you reject, because you've already had those things done, they come up with all types of horror stories regarding what's going to happen to your car when you leave the parking lot. If 0 stars was an option they would get 0. This is the rudest , most unprofessional and downright dangerous shop. 2 tires and an alignment were quoted a 45 min wait time. Ended up being 3.5 hours . Repeatedly checked in and was told a bolt was "frozen" and they were having trouble doing the alignment. Well 3 weeks later when I began driving across the country and my wheels nearly flew off going 70 mph on the highway and I had to pay another $500 to get back on the road SAFELY with permanent damage to the wheel of my car and warped roters. I have complained with corporate and have a claim in process however I would not feel safe having my friends or loved ones going to this shop. DO NOT GO HERE IT IS NOT SAFE!!!! read more

My MAJOR negative issue with MR Tire is that my car has a TPMS system that monitors air pressure in tires. I have never had ANY issues with it before hand, but after they changed my 4 tires, my right front wheel TPMS quit working on my way home from Mr Tire! I asked them about it they looked at all 4 TPMS sensors and told me the 1 was not working and would cost $130 to replace. So basically they broke my TPMS system, then wanted to charge me $130 to replace it. All other reviews are correct. Took over 4 hours to do 4 tires, oil change, and inspection. With an appointment. Ive worked in an auto garage in the past doing all of these activities. Should take 1.5 hours max. UPDATE they replaced the sensor for free and fixed another issue the technician caused. They have a new manager who seems to be whipping the place into shape. read more
