two trays of food on a table

My husband and i have lived so close to this restaurant for 2.5, almost 3, years and for the first time today we decided to try it. When we were first got seated, we were greeted very quickly; when she took our drink orders she brought them out ***with the yum-yum sauce! We didnt even have to ask. Then we noticed how affordable their basic sushi rolls are (4.95-6.95). We ordered two rolls for appetizer and they come with a soy sauce glaze on top. I find that added touch unique and tasty. We then ordered the hibachi filet mignon (medium rare) and spicy pork bulgogi bento box. BOTH of these entrees are absolutely amazing and GREAT portions! The bulgogi is extremely flavorful and very authentic. The bento came with tempura shrimp, tempura battered veggies and a dumpling. The ginger dressing for the salad and miso soup were great classics. And The cook on the filet was amazing. The fried rice did need the extra flavor from the yum-yum sauce. The ambiance is great they have tvs playing a few sports games, a full bar, great pop music, and the lighting made it very romantic for our date night. Also, i love going to a place that looks amazing, and then you go into the restrooms and not only is a clean with cute decor, BUT IT SMELLS GOOD TOO! I will definitely be returning and telling all my friends. Sorry for the poor photos, we were excited to eat!

Steak katsu, California roll, fried rice.

I ordered delivery through GrubHub and got the steak katsu lunch bento box and an order of gyoza. First of all, I have a few minor gripes. #1, there's no miso soup. That's pretty disappointing. #2, my tempura broccoli had a huge lump of dry tempura batter or cornstarch or something in it. #3, I asked in the notes for steamed rice and got fried. #4, I was excited to see a huge piece of what appeared to be sweet potato or kabocha squash in the tempura that turned out to be carrot as far as I could tell, which was still tasty, but a little disappointing since sweet potato and kabocha are my favorite tempura veggies. #5, the steak katsu was a little tough. HOWEVER... The FLAVOR of the steak katsu was genuinely one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten in my life, so never mind that it broke my temporary tooth filling out. It was absolutely, totally, 100% WORTH IT. I could eat this katsu every single day of my life and never even remotely get tired of it. The breading was not greasy but had wonderful flavor from the oil. The onions underneath were perfectly cooked. Not mushy, but not raw. Just perfect. And the sauce... my goodness, I could almost bathe in that sauce. I would eat that sauce on ice cream. I would eat that sauce with a spoon like soup. H-E-A-V-E-N-L-Y! The salad was super fresh and had not a single hint of brown anywhere, and the dressing was absolutely delicious. I usually do NOT like the ginger dressings that are opaque as though made with mayo, but this one was fabulous! The tempura, though having carrot instead of sweet potato or squash, was very tasty. It had one very tasty shrimp, one massive piece of carrot, one mushroom and one broccoli floret. Nice batter, not too thick or too thin. Everything was cooked perfectly. The California roll was good. Nothing exceptional, but a good roll nonetheless. Good flavor, and the rice was not dried out and hard like it can be at some restaurants. The gyoza (the bento box came with one, and I ordered an extra appetizer portion) was again, not exceptional, but solid. Had good flavor, nice crunch without being super hard. The fried rice was good, so I was not too terribly disappointed that I didn't get the steamed rice I asked for. Overall, I was very pleased with this experience and I will definitely order again. (Mostly for that amazing steak katsu!)

Update : tried again ---Ordered sushi to go. I received my order and I started to eat my sushi. Upon eating the spider roll I noticed that it had a putrid smell and the taste was just so offputting. I started to pull apart the sushi and realized that the crab that was inside of it was rotten. I called the restaurant and tried to speak to the manager and she pretty much kept telling me that the crab was fine and that it was my taste that didn't like it. She did put a credit on my account for the sushi but the fact that she kept arguing with me and pretty much telling me that I was lying or that I was wrong it's just so unprofessional.

I want to love, but this was my second time ordering via Ubereats and was disappointed. I looks like the didn't take the time to neatly present my eat. I think they do a better job when you dine in.

    Sushi and sashimi combo

This was the worst Japanese restaurant I have ever been to. To start off there was a 45 minute wait for a table that didn't even have the hibachi experience. Next we got the worst waiter ever who spoke little to no English. The food took about 1 hour to come out. I got the sushi and sashimi combo which was 30$. The meal turned out to be hardly any food at all. Luckily my family shared with me from their hibachi. The filet mignon was not medium like my dad ordered, and it tasted like a frozen kids meal steak. Overall the food was very subpar, but for a 140$ meal for 5 people it was not worth it in the least!

Ordered the CA roll, which tasted fishy and not very fresh.Wont be returning automatically added 18% tipping to our bill.

Great food, great service! Although be cautious with your servings because the price can really stack up if you keep stuff coming though.

I can officially stop saying, "I can't find great food in Northeast Georgia." The Stag has solved that problem. This place has undergone a total transformation since my last visit--new décor, new chef, new staff, and an entirely new menu. Hands down, one of the best meals I've had in the last five years. The Stag Salad was outstanding--beautiful greens, plenty of bacon and goat cheese, and the most delicious (clearly homemade) buttermilk ranch dressing. I don't usually get excited about salad, but don't sleep on this one. I ordered the seared sea bass, and wow--seared to absolute perfection. The crunch on the outside, moist and succulent on the inside... the best sea bass I've ever had. Chef's kiss. My friends ordered the salmon and the roasted chicken, and everyone was thrilled with their meals. None of us even ordered steaks--despite that being what they're known for--but the ones we saw looked flawless. The upstairs décor is beautiful, and last but definitely not least--ask for Mave. Warm, friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful in steering you toward the right choices. We'll be back soon--and often.

You got your white tablecloths, rooms full of retirees, and a vibe that hasn't changed much since the Reagan administration. Unfortunately, there was none of that live music that this place is known for. My family and I came for the Easter brunch buffet @ $55/person. The menu looked great: herb crusted prime rib at the carving station, shrimp and grits, Belgian waffles, deviled eggs, bourbon glazed carrots, cheesecake dessert squares. But the reality was that it's more like an upscale hotel breakfast. Safe, mostly bland, and probably exactly what the "usual" crowd there was looking for. The bacon was overcooked and shriveled. The deviled eggs didn't even have any paprika. And who puts a giant vat of syrup BEFORE the waffles? And their signature strawberry punch would've tasted way better chilled or iced instead of being kept at room temperature. The prime rib was what made it all worth it. It was tender, juicy, cooked just right, and the horseradish took care of their seasoning problem. That carving station is what saves the day along with the fantastic staff. Even the manager was great to talk to. I just wish the rest of the food was better than "meh." A couple of tips: call for reservations, there's no online booking. Parking is annoying because of the app. If you don't have a walker, just use the giant free public lot one block over on Main Street. Also, the "Order" button on their website goes nowhere. Maybe just replace it with "Menu," Luna. Looks like Mother's Day is getting the breakfast buffet brunch encore, so if you want to experience what I did, go for it. I probably won't be back even though the regular menu looks interesting.

We had a reservation and were seated immediately. The restaurant didn't have many people when we arrived. There was 1 couple at a small table and a party in a "private" room. We were seated directly in-between both of these. Didn't make for a romantic anniversary dinner with the older couple coughing, sniffling and making sucking noises. (I'm thinking they had something in their teeth and they kept trying to remove it?) Then the party in the room was loud and the doors to the party room were left open. With the restaurant so empty, I don't know why we weren't seated somewhere more private. Drinks were pretty good. My husband was told the wine he first ordered was out. He liked the second choice he made, once it finally arrived. There was a wait to receive everything we ordered. Drinks took forever. Our poor server was trying. I saw him WAITING at the bar for the bartender to finally pour our drinks. Food - Calamari was pretty good. It is a very small portion, but enough for an appetizer for 2 people. I really wanted the sea bass, but I didn't want it with the veggies that were supposed to come with it. I asked if they could substitute for brussel sprouts and sauteed spinach. Our server wasn't sure so he asked if I'd still like it if they can't. I told him if they wouldn't substitute, then I'll have the salmon with those sides. My dinner arrived and it was the salmon. They would rather me pay for a less expensive meal than substitute sides for the more expensive meal. I find that odd. My husband ordered the scallops. They were cooked perfectly. Unfortunately, his risotto and asparagus were ice cold. He had to send it back. (That's not something he normally does, so I know it was bad.) My food wasn't piping hot, but it wasn't cold either. It at least tasted good. They kept apologizing for the wait, and offered my husband a free glass of wine. He accepted and they brought the carafe over with it and poured it into what he still had left. It wasn't the same wine! They now mixed 2 completely different wines and my husband said it tasted funny. He didn't even finish it. There was nothing offered to celebrate our anniversary. Everywhere else we've been offers you a free dessert. Nope. Not here. Dessert was offered, but not for free. We declined and said we were full. It was also almost 2 hours of being here and we were done. This experience does not make us want to return or recommend to anyone else. The kitchen obviously has some work to do to fix things, along with the bar and management. Thank you to our server for trying to make it a good experience for us.
