Seating: Both inside and outside seating. Great for groups and patio seating outside to keep you dry. Vibes: It's in a plaza, maybe 10 minutes away from Downtown Birmingham. The plaza consists of restaurants, a gym, and a grocery store. The spot itself is spacious, clean, and welcoming. A great place to hang out with friends or be friends. FOOD: Peppermint Boba (Recommend) A seasonal drink that was a pleasant delight. The peppermint wasn't too strong, it was well balanced with milk and the boba was chewy. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Great! The store opened and there was a rush of 3 customers. The kid in front took care of it well. TL; DR OVERALL: 5 Stars. Great! This is a solid enough representation of boba so it's glad to be shared here in the Dirty South! The prices are reasonable, food is delicious, and I appreciated the range/variety they provided. For those craving a boba fix, be sure to check this place out! Shoutouts to Ashley and Tam Duong for bringing this delight to Alabama and best wishes to new owner, Hugo Anguiano, and his team on this business. TIPS: * Check online for their seasonal specials! * Check out their article! https://bhamnow.com/2021/12/17/thirstea-cafe-to-open-at-the-pizitz/

Today i sat in my car ready for someone to take my order, sat there for 5 mins, no one came on, even when i tried to saying hello??? another 5-6 mins to get to the window again bc service is so slow and per usual it's some kid sitting on the window (which i think is gross) who had no clue she never took my order. I gave my order there and waited. Got my food but drove off without my coffee. Had to park and go in. The place completely empty except for the 2 girls working there. Again one girl sitting on the window - love it when they have shorts on and are big girls...great professional look for the company. Coffee was already cold. i can't do it anymore. The high prices, unsanitary conditions and wait time are too much. I don't need to be this stressed out on my way to work. It's too bad bc i live close by and met hoping it would get better but it hasn't. I will not be back. Based on lack of management i don't even expect a return email back.

As it is a drive-thru based coffee shop, there aren't any bathrooms or places to sit. My only warning would be how loud the music is ... sometimes it feels like I'm yelling at the person taking my order so they can hear me over the music. I typically try the seasonal drinks, most recently the Banana Bread Cold Brew , and it was good, but very sweet. Although, everything they have is customizable, including the sweetness level. It's definitely not the cheapest coffee option - I typically get a small seasonal drink, and it ends up being $7 with tax and tip.

We ordered brown sugar milk tea, mango pineapple tea with boba, jasmine milk tea, and the oreo nutella croiffle. Not a fan of the jasmine milk tea (jasmine tea not noticable enough), but thought the rest were very good. Price point is just right - enough to make a profit, but not too high to price me out. Since I make boba tea at home all the time and know the cost, I find places that charge 8+ a drink to be over the top and simple refuse to go. Employees are nice. Also has some games if you want to stick around a bit, along with a tote painting option if you want to buy the tote. Would recommend!

Why do most coffee shops in Alabama have to face a parking lot? Why the heck is everything another…read moreugly strip mall? What makes it even sadder in the case of Santos, is they tried to make the exterior a little more enjoyable by putting some nice tables and even a swing outside. Sadly, without any plants separating the area from the parking lot, the entire vibe of this coffee shop, both looking out from inside and sitting outside is not that great. But, vibe aside, let's talk about how it got here. Santos is a family owned small chain. The main owner, Wendy Madden, opened the first coffee shop in 1993 in Tuscaloosa and since expanded into Santos Coffee we know today. The establishment pays homage to Guatemalan saints and ancestral lands where coffee is sourced from, from family's original plantations. The beans are roasted in Birmingham after being imported from Guatemala. The coffee is absolutely excellent here. Seriously, a very tasty latte. Oddly, they do not have an option to get it in a mug, so there is no way to avoid the plastic coating and the flimsy paper cups. Also there wasn't even a design on top of the latte...but ok, maybe that's slightly picky to highlight. Thus, Santos as a whole is a good coffee shop for to go orders. With excellent coffee quality, this is where they really shine. With that said, the vibe and serving methods need work.

They have outlets at not all, but several tables, so it can be a nice place to bring your computer. Music isn't very loud, so not too distracting. Parking can be difficult sometimes - there are only a few spots behind the building and a few in the front. Other than that, there is street parking on the one way next to the building, or on 18th (main drag through downtown Homewood). They have a drive-thru, but it's a bit odd at first glance. You either enter from the one way street paralleling it or from the alley that runs behind the building. It looks like you're driving up onto the sidewalk! If the line of long, it might be a bit of a wait, so I wouldn't count on it if you're in a hurry. I always get an Iced Blueberry Vanilla latte, and it's ~$7. Their rotating seasonal menus have some pretty interesting combinations that I always like to try!
