I've done the shawarma lunch twice now at this little W. 4th Ave spot and been completely satisfied on both occasions. The first time I had the Chicken which I loaded with all manner of tasty accompaniments - that yummy parsley stuff, olives, lettuce, tomato and the garlic sauce filled my office with it's potent charm! Everyone asked me what I was having for lunch. My response was "A tasty mess!" And messy it certainly was. They filled the pita to bursting point. A truly satisfying lunch for about $7 and change. The second time I dropped in I was fortunate enough to find lamb on the menu. They cut it right off the rotisserie and packed the pita so full of the juicy meat there was Barely room for the humus, tzatziki, black olives and lettuce I asked for. We had the chicken and beef boxes and the falafel. The falafel was delicious, but the boxes, not at all. The meat wasn't seasoned well and the only flavor came from the hot sauce. I grab dinner from them 2-3 times a week depending on work and how lazy I am. It's a good deal on the way home, with several locations smack dab in the middle of downtown, decent hours and reasonable prices. And I haven't even mentioned the portion of the food.. typically I can't finish in one sitting and I have the rest the next day. The quality of food is also decent, definitely flavourful and fresh. The only thing is that there is a lot of sodium in this meal, which kind of overpowers everything. The pickled veg is particularly overpowering for me. As a experienced food reviewer i will say this restaurant is something special. I have travelled all across the country trying foods and sometimes even out of country. This restaurants ranks by far first out of all the shawarma chains I have been to. The food is incredible I judge my food but 3 categories quality, seasoning, and consistency. The first one is quality when I'm eating something I know it has good quality if I want to go for a second bite but here it is different when I order one to take home with me. Second is the seasoning I love myself a well seasoned shawarma and the way that they season it is perfect, other shawarma places that I go to is that its is never perfect it is always too much or too little but they hit the sweet spot. The next one is consistency is that I want every bite to be the same and with is being great quality that is what I noticed makes a huge difference in the food business. The thing about this review I was just telling you about the food the service there is exquisite I was there when a very young person working and he carried on a great conversation and told me that it is a family business which I love even more as a teen myself back in the day it was challenging for me to get a job but I love how the son works for the dad. After all I would say going into my advance category I would rank the restaurant a 96/100 I love all the factors into a very nice, high quality food, and very affordable chain. Very good wraps with the lamb being especially tasty. We're from the California, Bay Area and this place is better than almost all shawarma places in the bay. I ordered their no carb salad off the Granville Street food truck came back to work noticed it was a full rice and pita dish this was very annoying especially when I used my lunch hour to go up there. The guy working today was so busy yacking to people hanging around the truck that he wasn't paying attention to the order. Half the food had to be thrown out due to the amount of items on the dish wasn't what I ordered. You only have one no carb salad on the menu Mr. Shawarma shouldn't be that hard to get the order incorrect. WOWSA. The wait is really long here but the food is absolutely worth it. Wife and I got chicken shawarma and a poutine. Like I said, the wait was probably 20 minutes to get our food, but the shawarma was amazing. Fresh off a spit and a decent size too. Poutine was awesome as well. Just like what they have in Quebec where my wife is from. Downside is they only accept cash. However, it's pretty cheap and halal as well. Would definitely come back. read more

Most of the time this is part outside the Burrard station close to the hyatt hotel. I've had a few Shawarma's on the go in winter on the way to some holiday activities downtown. It was healthier and a lot more filling than some of the other options out there. I was still watching the waist line closer to my trip to the Island for the holidays. The price is very reasonable for the portion. One Shawarma fills me for almost more than 5 hours with lots of walking. Great customer service and the turn around time for product has always been reasonable. Visited here around 6 times during the holidays. If you do not want to bread/pita they can make a bowl version. I find that the bowl version is more portable when I don't have time to sit down and need to catch the bus home. read more
