Mr. Rooter showed up to clear our main drain. I was told that they were unable to clear the drain and would send someone out to take a video of our drain the next day for an additional cost. I declined the video and told them that I was getting a second opinion. The next day Colorado Sewer came out and cleared our drain without issue. I called Mr. Rooter, explained the situation and asked for a refund. I was told by the dispatcher that she would contact a manager with my request. I haven't heard back. I feel as though there was not an honest effort put in to clearing the drain by Mr. Rooter and I was possibly a being upsold. I will not being doing business with them again. read more

We had an outside blockage in the front of our yard tended to the week of August 13th, 2024 and upon asking for documentation & pictures for our insurance company, they only provided us with an invoice breakdown of the services provided last month. We have called numerous times since as our insurance needs the photos without prevail. Mr Rooter had no troubles taking $13,000 from us to fix the trouble, yet they are hindering in our ability to obtain our money back from our insurance claim. read more

Oh man, had a pretty negative experience with this company. We had a clog in our mainline which was probably related to a kid visitor to our house who flushed half a roll of toilet paper (not exaggerating). We called Mr. Rooter to unclog things because it was a Sunday. They came out Sunday night around 7:30 (for a 2-4 scheduled window), but okay I get it, sometimes the job before takes longer than you think it will and it makes you late. The guy who comes out tells us he can't get the cap off the clean out, and they'll have to come back in the morning. Not great but okay. They come out the next day and clear the clog (breaking off the top section of our outdoor cleanout pipe in the process). Everything's draining fine now but, they say, they felt something strange. They better call their supervisor and have him do a scope, but they'll apply the cost of clearing the clog towards the scope (spoiler, they did not). The "supervisor" guy comes out and does the scope. He says we've got a big problem, we've got to replace a large section of the mainline immediately. He's pushing us hard to agree right away to nearly $7k in repairs. When we didn't just go with it, he started negotiating down the price. But the vibes were bad and I got the sense he didn't want anyone else seeing the scope video, or for us to get a second opinion. After he left, I sent the scope video (which we insisted he send to us) to two other, unrelated sewer line inspection companies. Both got back to us with the same feedback. The scope video itself was not very good, and they didn't seeing anything in it that would warrant emergency repairs. We then called a totally different sewer inspection company that specializes in inspection and doesn't do repairs (so they don't have financial incentive to "find" expensive damage), to do a totally new and more thorough scope. We sat with the guy while he went inch by inch down our sewer line, and his conclusion was the same. Our sewer line is not in need of emergency repairs, and he suspected someone at Mr. Rooter might be working on commission. FYI, when we called around to other sewer companies, many of them told us that this was an increasingly common scam. Mr. Rooter managed to scam us for an extra $300 but at least they didn't get the thousands they were after. Be careful out there folks. read more

I had first guy come out tried hard to clear shower drain but wasn't able so said he would send Master plumber since he was apprentice. Second guy came out cleared drain in 10 minutes, only week later clog came back. Third guy came out 4 hours late didn't call or text he was coming showed up 8 pm not happy or polite or even professional making every excuse why drain not clear from hair (a week later what) to saying didn't feel comfortable snaking drain yet 2 previous guys seemed to feel comfortable as they did it, then left with minimal to no effort blaming plumbing ect. So manager called said he would send the Master plumber that was here before but then he called making excuses weather he could come out turned out to be nightmare I told him never mind I'll call another company. It was a nightmare. Should be a 0.....First tech came out to run a snake down the clogged toilet...$95.....He ran it down and no luck. Still clogged.... He didn't have the right snake to run down the Master bedroom cleanout.. NOR... the right snake to run down the shower drain....which was backing up. WTH???How can this tech be in the business 5 years, as he said he was, and NOT have the right tools? As usual, I have to do his job for him. So his boss comes out...." OH, see the sewer line with my new high tech camera.....we need to tear up your front lawn, break your sprinkler system, and charge you $5100.00."........ If I was smart I would have made him run the snakes through the Master bedroom cleanout and the shower drain before we did anything else. But somehow I trusted him...I was an idiot. $5100 later it still backed up in the shower!!!.....so they sent a guy out...the only one who knew what he was doing...and he ran the snake down the shower drain. Bingo!! problem solved. If this was done in the first place there would be no need to tear up my front lawn. Don't use them. Do not hire this company! Back in February, I had them replace a section of pipe under my driveway. When they were done and had filled the hole back up, I noticed a long plastic pipe sticking out of the ground. I asked them what it was and they said it was "probably an old sprinkler line". Yesterday I went to turn my sprinklers on and water came rushing up from under the ground where they had dug. They had intentionally cut my sprinkler line and didn't bother to ask me what it was before they cut it or even inform me that it had been cut. What kind of professional plumber just randomly cuts pipes without knowing, or caring what it was or taking the time to inform the homeowner? If I would have been notified before they cut it, or even before they filled the hole, I could have either told them it was the existing sprinkler line or had an opportunity to have it repaired before they filled the hole. Now I have to dig back down and find the pipe to repair it. Luckily, I haven't had the concrete poured back over where they cut out my driveway yet! All of this could have been avoided by someone from Mr Rooter taking 30 seconds to have conversation with me. I called and spoke to, Justin, the person I had been working with on this job and his response was "I apologize for that but we will just cut through anything in our way. Sorry, but we don't repair sprinkler systems." I get that they have to gain access to where the repair needs to be made but that doesn't give them the right to destroy someone's property with total disregard. Be warned! read more

Tyson was my first tec! exploded the sewage when lifted toilet and I helped with a shop vac HOWEVER he walked back and forth through my house with sewage on his shoes and when couldn't get clog called for a camera in which wasn't available til next day! BUT he left without cleaning up my bathroom of the sewage nor my kitchen area where it leaked! Camera tech came next day couldn't get through line so called for another tech that ca that night VERY NICE GENTLEMAN however still no help cutting holes in wall, Next day boss came VERY RUDE and he called for another tech to come and jet lines and this tech refused to jet but wanted us to tear up back yard and concrete to see where lines were! I am absolutely disgusted with this company. My dad passed in 2018 and I had to move into their home to take care of my mom with Alzheimer's. I quickly realized my downstairs shower would back up and overflow with black waste. I called mr. rooter and they told me I needed to replace my inside main line and all toilets as well as my hot water heater. It was thanksgiving, I was very overwhelmed with everything, and couldn't live without water or toilets so I approved the work and gave them ALL of my inheritance from my fathers passing. As soon as they left, I excitedly went to use my downstairs shower and guess what? The water wouldn't drain! I called them back in tears saying after all that it's still not fixed and they came back right away and said they forgot to clear that drain at the end of the job. Fast forward to about a month ago (end of 2021) and my downstairs shower is still backing up with black waste and is unusable. They came back, explaining that my outside lines need replaced and that there are roots growing through them but as long as I get the roots blasted every couple years it should be okay. They did it that day, as a courtesy and said I should be good until the roots grow back in a couple years and that service is normally $900. Today, that same downstairs shower is doing the same thing, the toilet won't work, and I just got off the phone with them and they actually denied that I paid over $20,000 for the initial repair saying "You didn't pay US the full 20 grand" and denied saying I would be okay for a couple years the last time they were here. They said, "we can't just keep coming back to deal with this for free". If they won't even stand by their actual invoice that I paid in full, what else would they deny or lie to me about? I feel completely swindled, powerless and grossly taken advantage of. They knew my situation and that I just inherited money from my dads death, knew I was desperate for help, and completely screwed me. I understand I should have gotten multiple quotes but I'm still so very upset with the entire situation and for what I paid I should, at the very least, have a working shower. If they had told me initially, "look, we see why you called us and we're going to charge $20,000 to do some work but it's not going to ultimately fix the issue you brought us here for", do you think I would have said yes? About a year ago we called Mr Rooter about a sewer back up issue. The tech who came out said the video showed we needed 10 ft of our sewer replaced. guaranteed it would fix our problem. It did not. They sent someone else out . He told us it was our pipes in the kitchen( wrong, it was not)...our problem was not fixed. About a year goes by..no bill sent...we get a phone call...pay your bill!...tell them our back up is still happening. They send out Mason Wakeham..he scoped outside where they fixed our sewer line and then scoped in the house. Found the problem,fixed the problem,took $ off our bill and we gladly paid it. Technician snaked out a kitchen sink drain that was clogged and they stated that hydro jetting was necessary but they didn't even bother to run the water after the drain was snaked. Furthermore I was never given an invoice for services done. I call to complain and the lady on the line Olivia says it's not predatory because hydro jetting was necessary because of grease in kitchen drain and then says I'm not a plumber. Really!! I will never call this company again for any service whatsoever and will dispute the unnecessary additional charges with my credit card company. If only I could give 0 stars. For starters we looked at google reviews and they were positive, should have looked at yelp. We needed a section of the sewer replaced in the front yard and contracted with them to the job. We were told the initial payment for trying to clear the line and the camera inspection would be applied to our bill. We financed the rest and we thought all was good. It was not. Because they couldn't even spell my name right, they never applied our diagnosing to the repair. Instead of sending a statement or making some sort of attempt to rectify the outstanding situation, they proceeded to file a mechanics lien for $500 on a $10,500 job. However, after investigating when I got the upsetting certified mail with a mechanics lien, I realized that we technically really did owe them $110. However, when I called after getting the mechanics lien to try and straighten it out, I've been ghosted and I even tried calling the corporate office for Neighborly and Mr Rooter and got a run around, eventually got a voice mail, but nobody has bothered to return my call. Now I'm left having to fight an invalid mechanics lien against my property and the headache and hassle and most likely legal fees as we'll need to go to court to have a judge invalidate their lien. In addition to exaggerating the amount of the lien, they also filed the lien to late. Even if the amount stated on the lien was accurate (which it's not) it's still an invalid lien because it was filed to late after completing the job. Now here's the biggest kicker, Mr Rooter doesn't have an active Master Plumbers license in the state of Colorado. Clearing a drain doesn't require a Master Plumbers license, but digging up the front yard and cutting into and replacing a section of the sewer does require a Master Plumbers license. I'm incredibly disappointed in Neighborly and Mr. Rooter, their website falsely claims licensure and the aftermath has been an absolute headache and I'm afraid it's only getting started. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company. If you have used them for repairs that involved cutting into existing sections of sewer pipe, that requires Masters Plumbers license and they don't have one. I would suggest filing a complaint with the State of Colorado, maybe if enough people file complaints against them taking on repairs they're not licensed to perform, maybe the rest of the public will get lucky and the state will shut these clowns down. Avoid this company at all costs! read more

Don't have them replace your water heater. 1st day they had as many as 3 plumbers onsite for 7 hours and cracked the replacement. 2nd day they had as many as 2 plumbers onsite for 6+ hours, and left saying they had the wrong model. 3rd day their "best man" finished the job in 4 hours and left. Upon inspection, he left at least half of the water lines uninsulated in our exterior water heater closet AND didn't connect the outflow to the existing drain pipe in the floor. I have reached out twice and haven't gotten a response. If my water lines freeze, I will be looking for a hungry attorney. Very frustrated right now. read more

I highly recommend Mr Rooter Plumbing. My sewer line collapsed and I needed it fixed asap. I initially hired a different company (without gathering a few bids) who fix the apparent issue but of course they found more damage that needed fixing as well. For the additional repair I contacted several companies to gather bids this time. Mr Rooter came out to evaluate the next day and presented me with a very reasonable bid and even dropped their price to match the lowest bid I received (which is MUCH appreciated as a full time student). Mason took time out of his night to walk me through the repair, financing options, and answer my many questions. I called Mr. Rooter to snake for tree roots in a sewer main line. The technician came out and told me he was struggling getting through the stoppage. He suggested to have his supervisor come out to have him do a $390 video to see what the issue was. The supervisor said the blockage was so bad we needed to replace the pipes. Digging up the front yard would be $6,800 and they could start that day. I told him I would not be able to do it that day since I was leaving for a week in two days. He then said they could do it for $4,500 if I did it right away so he could get his guys some work. Said they could start that day and finish the next day before I left town. I told him I did not want to start it because if an unforeseen issue arose I would be out of town. When I got back I called another company. They had a $93 guaranteed to clear or the call is free. Their technician got through immediately. Their offer was also a free camera inspection to see the pipes. There is no damage to the pipes. I would reckoned Mr. Rooter for work. So many other company are more honest and less expensive. read more

Something that would be pretty easy to just take out the fitting and replace it. He went to his truck to call his boss to get me an estimate. He came back and said it would be $950.00! Clogged drain. They came the next day. $99. But then an extra $150.00 to take out toilet. They unclogged drain. Then said I should camera. They charged $295. That is more than others that are?$180. But they said within 60 minutes they would be there. I said ok. But had to wait 2 hours. Then he told me it was so bad. Line broken and coupling sticking through. I am a builder so I said how much? Expecting something around $1200.00. He said $6800. I started laughing and asked him to leave and send me the video. My plumber that has done many installation jobs for me over 10 years looked at video and said he only gave you half the video of the line. Doesn't go all the way to septic. He should refund you half the fee. And nothing to worry about. The line had some little rock in it or something. Nothing visibly broken. No need to do anything. AVOID MR. ROOTER. Call a well referenced plumber for honest advice. read more
