I'm not a judge on Master Chef like some of these other reviewers apparently are but I've had lots of ramen at lots of places and their ramen was good every time we've gone. You have the option to add lots of different ingredients to any ramen, get it spicy or not etc. Nice local business. read more

I have eaten here multiple time since they open and their food is great, but be sure to pick up yourself or eat there. I have tried to order through their online site twice now with no luck. The first time the driver got lost and they had to remake my order and send a second time. It showed up an hour late. Tonight I tried again. You get a nice email with a delivery time so I waited 30 minutes past this time and called to check. The lady read off my address and told me the driver left 10 minutes ago. I waited 30 more minutes and called again. This time a gentleman answered and said he would check and call me back. 10 minutes later I called again and the lady said they were making my order now and it would delivered in 20 min. Really? (This review is written a few months after I visited this place. Things may have changed now.) My office is located not far from there, so I had a chance to visit this place. Had some visits to their Mr.Sushi, those were OK experience, thus I expected similar. Yea basically similar experience. Clean environment, OK decorations, a bit over-priced. Do NOT order tonkotsu ramen! Chashu pork should be slow cooked for few hours, but they (I think) pan fried it, and then unfortunately, over cooked it to burnt. Even worse, the burnt flavor dissolves into the broth so that you feel like you are drinking charcoal soup. And a $17 price tag after tax and tip just doesn't worth it to me. Again, things may have changed since. YMMV. read more

Easily one of my favorite asian restaurants around. Interior is simple and inviting, friendly staff, good price. I've been here several times now since it first opened and Ive had a very positive experience each time I came. Would definitely recommend the Hawaiian poke bowl and the fire ramen!! read more

My husband and I have come here on several occasions for dine in and take out. It has literally become our new favorite local place. We Have tried all the ramen soups at this point and they are ALL FANTASTIC! The pork is so tender and delicious! The young man that takes our order is very very nice and accommodating. Went once and had the fire ramen which was very good. My SO is vegetarian and had some other ramen dish with a ton of tofu in it that she was craving for days after. It was cold in there but the ramen warmed us up, and the ambiance was pretty nice. Would definitely go back. read more

Staff was super friendly . Food was good, but a bit pricey for the demography. Portions were large, but not HUGE. No napkins on the tables, and had to ask for water. My dish claimed that it came with a special "seasoned" egg, but I was served a plain ole boiled egg?! No Poke bowls were available as advertised. The Pork Belly was outstanding and that saved the day. FYI this is not a Japanese restaurant. There are decorative writings on the walls which are Korean , and there is hot chili oil on every table, which is not Japanese style. If it were not for the staff I would have given 2 fewer stars. This is easily my favorite Asian food place. The store was very neatly decorated. The service was quick and the employees were some of the best service I've ever had. I had the TonKotSu Ramen with pork and it was amazing. The noodles were perfect the pork was very good and the broth was delicious. To drink I had bubble tea which was amazing and a Black and white smoothie which was surprisingly good. Would very highly recommend and to top it off they deliver for a mere $2 fee. read more

Visited Mr. Ramen in Pompton Lakes for the first time last evening. The decor is plain and simple but it is it is clean and comfortable. I had the Soyou with chicken and my dining partner had the Spicy Shrimp. The Soyou--with traditional ramen noodles--was quite good. Lots of flavor and delicious noodles. The report on the spicy shrimp is that it was delicious but indeed spicy. I other words, if you're not a "super spicy" fan, you might ask to go easy with the heat on this one. Nothing fancy about this place but the food is quite good and the service is friendly. A great weekday evening dinner spot. We will return soon to try different dishes. i was told my order would be ready in 20 minutes, i pulled up to the restaurant 5 minutes early in case. I wanted in the restaurant 30 minutes! 50 minutes after i placed my order! the wait time was unacceptable. First time here - we had the tonkotsu ramen and miso tofu ramen with pork. Very tasty!! So glad to have some more variety in restaurants around here finally. I wish they would do pho soup also, but I am very grateful to have delicious ramen soup nearby! read more

They really need to work on their ramen noodles and pork buns. The pork buns were not fresh and half of it was hard. The noodles seem to be from a package and not fresh. The wings are very crispy but flavor needs to be improved. read more

I always loved ani ramen in Montclair but wait and drive there was insane, so when this place opened up I was eager to try it, and it did not disappoint me !! I had Fire Ramen and pork bun. My son went with his friends and raved about it, so my husband and I thought we would give it a try. Soooo glad we did, adorable eating area, the young man and woman waiting on us were so pleasant and engaging. We didn't quite know what to expect. We started with the chai tea bubble, it was delicious, the little bubbles on the bottom are tapioca. Next we had the tempura crab, so tasty. We each had a ramen and it was very good, a huge bowl of broth, pork, chicken egg, corn and ramen. I definitely recommend you give it a try! read more

A freaking rat! First, let me state that the food itself is amazing. I truly love their fire ramen. However, what happened today was entirely unacceptable. I went to restaurant to order my usual and when I arrived, several customers were huddled in a corner. We quickly learned that there was an enormous rat under a table where customers were sitting. The rat was not moving. The staff went into the kitchen and when they came back, staff members were taking pictures of the rat. A customer started yelling that this was a health code violation and to immediately remove the rat. The staff refused to remove the rat. Instead one of the customers took a broom and pushed the rat outside. I still cannot believe that staff sat there while customers took care of their rat problem. In an age of COVID, restaurants need to be diligent of the health of their customers. I have serious concerns of the safety and health protocols of this restaurant when they have huge rats running around and staff isn't resolving the problem. What does the kitchen look like? I can't only hope that immediately resolve this. read more

i go to school in washington. dc, and i crave their soup when i'm away. my boyfriend and i usually get the chicken buns, he gets the fire ramen, and i get the shoyou ramen. the buns are soft like a cloud, and the chicken is charred to perfection. the ramen is always served hot, and the servings are plentiful. the server always remembers us, and is always happy to see us and let's us get to know her more and more each time we go here. i will always love mr ramen, and it will always be the best in the area, and maybe the best in other areas read more

It's a cold night and I couldn't figure out what to eat. Found this spot through yelp and figured we'd try it. Nothing better than soup on a cold night! The green tea was very good, the scallion pancake was not the best I've had (but ok), and the ramen hit the spot. Nice flavor and plenty in a huge bowl! Service was a little lacking but we ended up with everything we needed. I would definitely eat Mr Ramen again, but probably pick up and dine at home. read more

This was the most disappointing meal of my life. I live 5 minutes from this place and couldn't wait for it to open up because i LOVE ramen, poke, and bubble tea. So i took my husband the first week it opened and we tried to order a poke bowl and ramen but they didn't have poke (fine) so we got two ramens. We also ordered a green tea bubble tea and they charged us and then told us they were out so we had to get the melon one instead, which was gross. The bubbles tasted like plastic. The ramen was absolutely disgusting too. My husband got chicken in his and it was literally like slime, this was NOT chicken. It tasted like slimy dough. So gross. Everything about this meal was simply inedible. I felt guilty leaving a bad review because I never want to take away someone's business, but it's not right for this place to take away people's money for this trash. Truly a delicious ramen spot. The prices are very reasonable, and it is perhaps the tastiest ramen I have ever had. I have tried the pork belly and shrimp, and both had a lovely char-grilled flavor. The broth is flavorful, and the egg is always perfectly half-boiled. The bubble tea is surprisingly delicious, and the hot green tea is great as well. Great little Ramen place. The honeydew and watermelon bubble tea were awesome. The chicken dumplings were excellent, thin but sturdy Dumpling, very light, but flavorful filling. Homemade dipping sauce. The pork sticky buns were very good. The ramen soup was excellent, the broth had great depth of flavor and was not overly salty like several other places I've been. It had that nice velvet texture from the stewed pork (I had the spicy pork). It was about as good as it gets. Great place, super nice staff. Not exactly a fancy date night kinda place, but if you want to grab a really good bowl of ramen without getting too fancy. This is the place for you. No doubt I will be back regularly. read more

My boyfriend and I absolutely love ramen and we have eaten ramen all over New York and New Jersey. This simply cannot even be considered ramen. Maruchan has better flavor. We are highly disappointed. I took a few slurps and that was literally all I could stomach. Tasteless. The chicken was grilled and hard. The pork was like festival meat. I'm sad. My dinner was sad.
