I used to ship my packages at Mr. Postman all the time but they've gone downhill lately. When I was pregnant, I asked to use their restroom and the employee told me it was for employees only and he very reluctantly let me use it. I was there tonight and the employee was so rude to the elderly lady in front of me. She asked if there was a markup and he curtly said yes. She asked how much and he said 10%. She said that wouldn't work for her and walked out. He sarcastically told her to have a good night. The markup is a lot higher than 10%. More like 50%! It was $9 to send a box to downtown Olympia when it's only $5 at the post office. He tried telling me it was the size of the box but it was a small one. I felt like I was being ripped off so I asked for a refund. He said they don't give refunds but he'd do it that one time. I won't be returning to Mr. Postman. read more

I used to love this place. There were two ladies who worked there & recognized me when I'd come in but ever since they left I don't get the same service. They have a decent selection of Seattle's Chocolates & I usually grab a bar or two to add to my out-of-state packages but last time I was charged for them to tape up my box. Lame. Nothing horrible to say about them, tho. They are just another small business with a straightforward service. If you're looking for a mailing center they'll get the job done. Oh. Be sure to bring cash or check in case your mail ends up going USPS. They don't do debit/credit for USPS stuff.. Update 5/2012 - gotta say of the other mail places I've tried around here Mr P is still my fave. Different lady working yesterday & she was especially friendly. Horrible place to bring your mail. I mailed out a package to my husband on July 12, 2012. After three weeks and he still had not received it, I called them and asked for the customs tracking form number - since they don't give you a copy of the form like the REAL post office. I called them on July 29 they said they couldn't find the customs form in their system and that it had already left the country and there was nothing they could do for me. Today, August 16, my husband informs me that he received the package- he is in Afghanistan. Great! Glad it finally arrived. The postage stamp Mr Postman uses to apply postage had August 8, 2012 as the date. So it SAT in their building for ALMOST A MONTH BEFORE THEY SENT IT OUT. read more

This place is closed. I went to get my mail and the place was gutted and the owners took off with everyone's money paid for PO Boxes.

on 7-25-12 we sent a package 2nd day air. the package needed to arrive on 7-27-12. the package arrived on 8-1-12, the receiver said that the stamp date on the package shows that they sent it out on 7-30-12. NOT IMPRESSED i have all the paper work plus the shipping info off the box. With all the dates and prices. called talked to them said that it was not there error they sent it to UPS and supposedly UPS sent it back to them. called UPS and they are showing that the package was never given to them, so i called back Mr. Postman and they will not reimburse the difference 2nd day air to ground shipping.. we trusted them to fulfill the job that they said they would do I DO NOT RECOMMEND THERE SERVICE FOR FAST OR URGENT SHIPPING. Not only was their customer service crappy, but they had horrible business practices. Lost our packages and consistently gave other members mail into our box. Then the one time I needed something shipped, it took over 2 weeks for the package to arrive in California. Without warning this company closed shop and evacuated! They took my renewal fees just last week and didn't even give me a heads up that they would be closing or going out of business. I will find these people!!!!! read more

TERRIBLE. They do not ship promptly (one week later than drop off) and they mark up postage 75%. I brought my package in on 12/4/12 to be shipped from Olympia to Seattle. The young man said the cheapest way was post office and it cost $19.04. Also said the package should arrive by 12/5 or 12/6. It did not arrive. I called on 12/7 and was told Holiday season is slower and to call back Monday. The package was important so I bought another one and drove it up there myself. The original package arrived on 12/12 /12 . While I understand there is a slower time during the holidays, that is not the reason my package took so long. THEY DIDN'T SEND IT. The date on the metered postage stamp was 12/11/12. My package sat at Mr. Postman a week before it was mailed. (it actually only took one day after they sent it). I called Mr. postman and they did not care and used the excuse of holiday season again - they must have placed my package in a dark corner or something and lost it for a week. AND, they marked my postage up 75%!!! I thought they did not mark up prices and were a real post office - things have changed. The postage stamped on my package was $10.85 USPS metered postage and my receipt says $19.04 USPS metered postage. That is a 75% mark up!!!!! Nothing is posted about them charging more than post office now (they didn't in the past). The receipt is not correct as the metered postage is $10.85 the rest (($8.19) is a mark up - very misleading. They are not a post office any longer (they used to be an actual post office with no mark up). They should let customers know they have a 75% mark up over the post office. Ridiculous.
