I love a good diner and this is a good one everything down to the polished steel, counter seating and comfy booths. I had a club sandwich with fries and an Iced tea, all which was good, my server was the typical life long waitress who had all the answers to my questions, a big smile and tremendous service The only reason I gave this place a 4 star rating and not a 5 Star is because I thought the turkey on my sandwich was processed and not truly baked. Never again! What happened to this place? Started off with a cup of cold coffee, no big deal, but the food was horrible! My dinner was the soup and salad. The salad was a bag of lettuce, the vegetable beef soup had no beef, just oil and vegetables, the $13 plate of appetizers never made it to our table until after we were done with our dinners. And the appetizers were gross, to boot, dry, old and cold. Service was terrible. The server brought our food to the wrong table first, then to us. I will never, ever come here again. Eat there for the first time this morning with a friend of mine who is a regular there we got the chili omelette with cheddar cheese, her recommendation. Got that with coffee and hash browns. Took a little bit of time to get the food but the coffee was great while we waited. Food came was hot the bread was a little bit small I was kind of surprised to be honest it was actually a little bit cute for bread that's how small it was. But it turned out to be plenty of food with The Omelette size. Not only was The Omelette covered with chili, but the inside had chili The Omelette was a very flavorful I mean very chilly chilly flavorful. I almost changed the cheese to Swiss but went with my friends recommendation and stayed with cheddar and I'm really glad I did because it was a perfect combination. The hash browns are really well made too and we're hot which is perfect cuz sometimes they're just not male made at restaurants but at this one they were. Service was not as fast as I would have liked however I was told by my friend next time just sit closer to the front which I will do cuz I do intend to return because when you eat food that good you don't pass it up if you can have it again. I'm usually open to other things when I come back to a restaurant but this deserves a second try. And I say deserve sarcastically because what I mean is oh yeah I'm getting it again! I'm sorry I don't remember the server's name it was a tall gentleman very nice guy really funny very nice to talk to. We came here to have a meal with some family members who live in the area. Upon driving up I was a little skeptical based on the condition of the exterior. It's a little run down and in need of updates. The interior was much of the same. We were seated quickly, the hostess was friendly and got our drinks quickly. The coffee was watered down and terrible. I usually drink a few refills but didnt here. The waitress was nice, took our orders but didnt remember who ordered what. no biggie. I didnt care about that. I ordered 3 eggs, sausage , hash browns and rye toast. my food was pretty good. Nothing over the top bomb but nothing was bad either. If half stars were and option, I'd give them 3.5 based on food and service. I hope they can improve their coffee and update their building soon because that's what lost a star for me. read more

And they haven't changed much during the passage of time. I have eaten here on many occasions over the years because it offers a little bit of everything for any appetite. Good old fashion breakfasts, from lunch, to dinner, to late night cravings. Eat light or eat heavy, the choices are numerous. I have had their meatloaf with mashed potatoes & gravy just like grandma used to make. The salads are loaded with the usual lettuce, tomatoes, shredded veggies, croutons and a nice selection of dressings. I'm particular about what kind of salad dressing I like, and they always have it here. During previous lunch breaks, I've ordered the "Tuna Lorenzo". I love tuna sandwiches and the way they prepare them are even better than a tuna melt. They are a little greasy, but still so delicious. Sometimes I'm just in the mood for something sweet. So you can choose from a tempting list of pies, cakes, ice cream concoctions or shakes. The service is always friendly (but not always fast). There are TVs to watch all around the table areas, which is nice for those silent eaters that don't always have much to say while dining. I asked for crispy hash browns they were super undercooked and only cooked on 1 side. The gravy had lumps of dough or something in it. My wife asked for fries she got onion rings. This place has just fallen apart. Don't come here. The ambience is a little like a run down Dennys. But the food more than makes up for it. We have never gotten a menu item we didn't like. They offer so many deals, best to ask your waitress. For instance, I had the complete meal deal for two for just $24. It comes with 2 appetizers, 2 soups or salads, 2 dinner entrees, 2 desserts, and 2 beverages (list of choices). I had buffalo wings, salad, Prime rib w/mashed potatoes, chocolate sundae, and a coke with free refills. My wife had wings, salad, Chuck Steak w/fries, choc. sundae, and Sierra Mist. I have been going to this location since I was a young kid! Now I understand that almost every restaurant are having problems with COVID staffing, but after my last visit I might not be going back! I ordered the Iowa style pork chops, with fries and extra gravy on the side! What I received was two deep fried (not pan fried) over cooked, hard as hell, pork chops. Instead of putting the country gravy on top of the chops, they put these gross looking pieces on top of what little bit of gravy they supposedly had left! Went to Mr Perry's tonight to enjoy my favorite split pea soup and it didn't disappoint!! If it's a soup you enjoy, take the time to stop by on a Monday to give it a try. Lots of diced ham and supper thick. It holds up the spoon.!! This place is not flashy or even shiny, just good old fashion choices. Tonight's special Rib eye meal was not up to par. Presentation looked great, very large and perfectly charred however very obviously loaded with fat and griddle. I used the Hugh steakknife to get to the good part. Saddly by then it was cold and I lost interest in the fight. I don't like to work that hard for a meal. Waiter was terrific..great personality and never let my coffee cup get empty. My boyfriend and I came on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant was slightly busy but we only had to wait about 5 minutes to be seated which was fantastic. After being seated my boyfriend quickly decided what he wanted and closed his menu but I'm very indecisive so I needed a minute longer. Our waiter came around, I believe his name was Jeff and he asked of we were ready to which I responded that I still need a minute. The waiter then told my boyfriend to get off his phone in a hard to read tone so we didn't think much of it but little did he know my boyfriend was actually beginning his review. After that incident there was a very obvious difference in the service we were receiving vs the other patrons that were being waited on by our server. I heard our server ask every single table in his section if they were doing alright, if they enjoyed their food, would they like something else, more coffee, and even more dessert at least 3 times yet our table didn't hear any of that once. I overheard Jeff offer the table next to us a strawberry shortcake dessert which sounded amazing but sadly we were tossed our check instead. We both ordered our steaks medium rare and got well done steaks instead but they were still flavorful and worth the $8.95 special. I enjoy the food here as this is my second time coming and I will come again as my boyfriend and I have made it somewhat of a tradition but I will never sit in Jeffs section again. I hope that he can treat all people in his section with the same care and respect and amazing customer service he was giving everyone else. It's definitely not as busy as their other store, but the food is just as good, maybe even better. I love that we get so many sides :) Soup, salad, rolls, corn, mashed potatoes and french fries. I was in sides galore. They had some kind of pea soup with ham today. I've never had a soup like that before, but it was yummy. The bf got meat loaf and I got the breaded veal. A total of 3 tables were occupied and 2 additional party's at the counter. Our dining experience was RUINED by other patrons in the restaurant that found it entertaining to go over the loud speaker and make inappropriate comments and sexual noises for everyone in the restaurant to hear. They did so multiple times during our visit. Shortly after we paid, the individual(s) staring using explicit language and again making noises. What I found to be extremely disturbing was that the restaurant staff and disgusting patron found the event humorous. We immediately left with our children in tow. It might be a regional thing, but in my opinion this is exactly what a diner is supposed to be.
