It's a small restaurant that does have a few tables, don't let the appearance fool you as this place knows how to make excellent food! I decided to stop by after seeing a few promising reviews. I'm always interested in trying new Chinese restaurants and this one did not disappoint. They offer a nice lunch special that's served in a cool little dish, you can see it from the photo I posted with this review. It comes with rice, egg roll, and entree. The price is very fair as well. I really enjoyed their general tso, it had an awesome sauce and delicious crispy chicken. The rice was great, the egg roll was on point, and the egg drop soup was awesome. Great stuff all around. First things first - this isn't a place you're going to take someone on a first date. The atmosphere is...get your order to go. That said, the food is really, really good. I'm surprised how good it is given it's in the happening metropolis of Silvis, IL. We've ordered a number of things off the menu and so far it's all been really good. The house-made crab rangoon is definitely worth getting. They definitely don't skimp on the filling. I won't say it's my favorite Chinese place in the QCA, but it's very high on the list and worth the visit. read more

I just wanted to make a quick review and say this is probably one of the better americanized "chinese" food places in the quad cities and probably some things are better than others but overall its probably in the upper echelon. id have to try a lot more things to see exactly how good or average or above average it is, im not in any hurry to do that. i wanted to specifically point out that their egg rolls are absolutely awful. i dont think any "chinese" restaurant in the quad cities has a decent egg roll, like can be found in chicago. i always find it depressingly interesting that thai and vietnamese restaurants in america, whether in big or smaller cities, are almost always pretty authentic, but then chinese restaurants outside of the biggest cities are 99.9% of the time this american-chinese food that isnt found in china, and it doesnt remotely even resemble actual chinese food. it would be nice to see an actual chinese restaurant open in the quad cities, i think the area could possibly support 1. maybe. i know bistro 888 has another menu that is more authentic chinese, and thats better than the chinese-american food, but i dont think that restaurant is real great, and thats the only one in the quad cities with a menu like that, that i know of. read more

Hidden gem in the QC. I am a big fan of good Chinese takeout (who isn't) and Mr. Pandas hits the mark. I have tried numerous things on their menu and have not been disappointed once. My favorite is their lo mein. Far and away the best lo mein I have ever had. The noodles have to be made from scratch, perfect texture and great flavor. I usually get the beef lo mein but again it is the noodles that are the star in this dish. The rangoons are great, sesame chicken is another favorite here. This place is a gem. Nothing fancy, but man can they cook. A wonderful Asian family runs this place, from the grandparents to the parents to their teenagers. I agree with other reviews that it's probably not a place you'll go to eat in, but don't let that stop you from getting take out. I am definitely an Asian food aficionado and this place has some really great dishes. My favorite appetizer is the steamed dumplings. Wow. Talk about a full meal just by themselves. These are packed full of filling. Not like some others where you bite into them and see a tiny chunk of pork. These are FULL and delicious. My favorite dish is General Tso's Chicken. Packed with flavor, sweet, spicy, delicious. Another favorite of mine is the House Special Fried Rice which I always request spicy for that extra flavor. The portion sizes are very good and the prices are reasonable. Definitely give them a try. We don't have as wide a selection of restaurants on this side of the river which makes this place all the better. This family works hard, they are there every day along with all 5 kids. Make sure to leave them a little something in the Tip jar on the counter if you can. They've earned it. read more

Pretty good Chinese for the Quad Cities. Doesn't stand up to real Chicago Chinese, unfortunately. Their best dish is the fried dumplings on the appetizer menu. They seem homemade and they give you 6 nice sized dumplings. Excellent flavor. Terrific price. If you want to support a hard working family, this is the Chinese restaurant to support. I used to live right up the hill from this joint and was a regular. The place isnt "nice" by any stretch of the imagination but the food is FIRE! The Szechuan pork (extra spicy) is out of this world. I tried this place for takeout tonight, mainly because it was on the way to my destination. I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of their food. Very tasty, nicely cooked, good cuts of meat. I've gone here a lot and I've gotta day it's the best. The food is great for days where you've got nothing to do but watch tv. They usually take about 10 minutes to make the food so it's pretty quick. The workers are very nice and the kids are always doing homework. I'd recommend the fried dumplings because the sauce that comes with them is out of this world. Im not kidding its addicting. Their other popular dishes are really good as well. I have tried their general tso's chicken, mongolian beef and lo mein dishes. For their sides, they have awesome crab ragoons, phenomenal egg rolls + shrimp egg rolls. And vegan spring rolls that are dynamite. The staff is of Chinese descent so they're not overly friendly but they have never messed up an order. This is my goto place.
