Staff was…read moreexceedingly accommodating, vibe was relaxed yet loud enough to allow a privacy bubble, and I'll definitely plan a return visit when in town. We had the Margherita, Capricciosa, Caesar salad, and the Nutella pizza and flourless cake for dessert. Kids devoured their Margherita slices and we really enjoyed the acidic, salty, roasted, crusty, chewy, fluffy, perfectly balanced notes of the artichoke, olive, tomato, and cheese Capriciossa. I know Caesar is a boring choice but sometimes the stomach wants what it wants, and this one was worth noting; I especially enjoyed the little nub of chewy pizza dough bread with it. I got it anchovy-less, because I don't love crunching on the little dudes, personally. Accessible entrance for wheels is around the back via a ramp in the alley--there's a doorbell for entry. They provided crayons and a coloring sheet for kids which always wins me over instantly, and were highly aware and educated around food allergies and their menu. 5/5 and an easy recommendation all around.

As a self-proclaimed pizza connoisseur, I recently found myself in Burlington for a work trip and…read moredecided to conduct what I can only describe as a two-night pizza field study. Vermont, as best I can tell, excels at three things. Producing elite-level cheese, perfecting brick oven pizza, and fully committing to a very particular political personality. Two of those things directly benefit me, so I leaned in. One immediate observation. If you are looking for anything other than wood-fired, artisanal pizza, you may want to adjust expectations. That appears to be the law of the land. Naturally, I adapted by eating pizza two nights in a row. Night 2: Folino's Pizza The next night I pivoted and ended up at Folino's, which turned out to be the value correction I needed. I ordered the MK pizza, which comes topped with caramelized onions and impressively large pepperoni slices that do not believe in subtlety. The difference was immediate. I paid less than the night before and received a pizza that was easily twice the size. This one actually acknowledged that I had not eaten since breakfast. The caramelized onions added a great balance of sweetness, the pepperoni brought both flavor and coverage, and the overall product hit that ideal intersection of quality and quantity. This pizza was not just good, it was filling. I left satisfied and with leftovers, which later doubled as an elite cold hotel breakfast. That alone puts it in a different category. The atmosphere at Folino's was laid-back, clean, and refreshingly unpretentious. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I showed up earlier than I had said I would, fully expecting to be told to wait, but they immediately jumped into making my order without hesitation. The location has a slightly rough-around-the-edges feel, but that seems consistent with parts of Burlington. It adds a little unpredictability to the experience, which at this point felt on brand.

I looked at the menu for American Flatbread online and their salads sounded delicious! It was hard to choose but I went with their kale caesar salad. It was easy to place an order for pickup right from their website. Once it was ready, Nate walked over and picked it up. The salad was packaged nicely and easy to mix up with the dressing. They included utensils and napkins, which was appreciated. The salad was delicious and one of the best kale caesar salads I've had recently. The dressing was thick and coated the kale really well, and I liked that it was a baby kale versus a hardier curly kale. The lemon was a nice touch and added some brightness, and the cheese was salty and perfect. The portion size was great too, and a good amount to split for a snack. I have bumped this spot up on my list for when we come back!

Well, maybe the music volume but I love the music that was being played so I don't think it's possible to have it too loud. First and most importantly the food. We got a pizzeria salad, one round pizza, one square pizza and the chicken Parmesan appetizer. None of us drink alcohol so we just had waters. Everything we had was delicious, beautiful, and well-made. We were a party of four adult males and everyone loved everything. We devoured the salad and chicken Parm. The pizzas were large and we each had at least two slices. Some people had three and we have enough so everyone can have another slice later. We spent 200 all in Taxes tip is included,. one of us felt like it was a lot with the rest of us thinking it was normal for the quality of the food. Service was great. I love the plate wear that things were served on. We were too full for dessert so I can't speak on that. When we walked in, there was jazz playing, and then some Jerry Garcia band was put on loudly. I loved it. I told the owner the only thing better than the Pizza was the music.

I prefer the booth seating (me at a couch style seat with a coffee table is a recipe for me to wear my food) and I never have an issue getting a preferred table. I've had a few flavors and the eggplant is probably my favorite. Staff is very friendly. It's an order at counter and they bring out. If you need anything they are very attentive! Save room for the fried dough because it's amazing. The roasted veggies and hummus are a must as well!

The good news is the manager who in the past has been fairly unfriendly as people have noted previously seems to be making an effort to smile and be more pleasant. However unfortunately, they do not serve tea, not even a cup of hot water, even if I brought my own teabag, I don't know why this is so difficult. So you can either drink alcohol, a soda, or water. And then as one other reviewer mentioned, if you arrive close to 8 PM, forget it you won't get served in house or be able to order takeout even though they are open till 830. These are the reasons I'm taking away one star for a restaurant that could otherwise be fabulous. It's too bad because again the food is really wonderful. We've never had a bad meal here and the portions are quite generous.
