They have always been legendary amongst the locals, with some of the best sandwiches, best homemade bread and incredible wraps and other baked goods. That is until the establishment was sold and taken over by new owners a couple years ago. The quality of food has gone down and the customer service is outright atrocious. They have one female employee in particular, with glasses, short hair and a nose ring who has no business working any kind of job that offers customer service in any kind of way. The new owners (definitely not from around here) are very dismissive and seem to have no appreciation of the locals and tourists who keep them in business. The only reason this post gets 2 stars instead of 1 star is because they still have incredible donuts. It's their only saving grace. I would suggest improving on customer service. It would be a good start to making things better. That and make your prices more competitive. I can go across the street to the burger barn for a amazing juicy burger for less.

They have large parking lot so we parked and head on over to the entrance. It's amazing large establishment with wooden lodge style interiors and some outside patio seatings as well. They have a huge stone furnace for the pizza. We were sat down right away as it wasn't too busy. We got the pick two lunch where you can choose 2 between soup, salad and mini flatbread. I ended up picking vermont maple sausage flatbread and soup. Soup was tomato base with some cheese. Strong tomato flavor and some acidity with saltiness of cheese coming through. It was good but maybe a little bit of cream or milk might balanced it out better. The pizza was pretty good. Can see the char from wood fire. Saltiness of cheese and hint of sweetness and savoriness from maple sausage pairs well together. Dough was bice and chewy and crispy on the crust Service was good and server was nice and attentive. Overall it's a solid place to enjoy wood fired pizza made with local ingredients. Good place for lunch or dinner. If you go for lunch Monday through Thursday the take two lunch option is a good value.

However, we got a nice surprise with Stone's Throw being open later than most of the things in the area. First off the staff was nice and pleasant. Bathrooms are nice, the atmosphere reminds me of a 1990s coffeehouse. They serve espresso but stop serving it at a certain time of the day, which is heart breaking for Italians which is an automatic go to after we have pizza. But you are probably more interested in The Pizza? Yes....yes the pizza is delicious, absolutely loved it. We ordered three 12" personal size pizzas 1. Sausage and onion 2. Sausage, mushrooms and pepperoni 3. The B.L.T. Should be The B.A.T. (They use Arugula, not lettuce thank goodness) delicious if I lived here it would be my automatic go to. They do a great job on their pizza dough it really tastes great. It's not chewy or tough which a lot of pizza places have a hard time with when making dough. If you are vacationing or if you're lucky enough to live in the area. You need to get here and eat some pizza. I wish them nothing but the absolute best moving forward in their business endeavors.

The staff was incredibly friendly and clearly doing their best, but they were running behind on nearly every order. Our pie came out half-burnt, with pineapple only making a guest appearance on two slices, as if it had stage fright. Stone's Throw might not have delivered perfection, but it certainly delivered an experience--one I hope smooths out with a little more organization behind the counter.
