This place is a lot of fun! We went Friday night and there was a great DJ playing and they have an awesome drink menu. They definitely have some really unique combinations of ingredients that are fun to try. The ambiance is gorgeous and mesmerizing and the vibe there is great. There is a dance floor section if you want to bust a move

Mahjong Night was a vibe. Have been seeing Mahjong events hosted at Mr. Mahjong, so my friends and I got tickets for Saturday night, and never have I played mahjong for 3+ hours with the desire to play more! The place (bar and mahjong area) wasn't packed ~8 pm. But as the night plays out, the bar gets packed! Mahjong is hosted downstairs of the bar, with access to the upstairs bar for drinks. What we got: - Black Token ~ a Vietnamese coffee-based drink with black sesame - Shallow Moon Cocktail ~ a peach, lemon, oolong cocktail - Silver Spritz Highball ~ a lychee-flavored highball All in all, the night was a vibe. Dj for the mahjong event was playing bangers. After the event, rejoining the bar scene was an available option!

My friend and I stumbled upon Mr. Mahjong near the Lunar New Year date, and we're glad we checked out this bar for its fun decorations and unique Asian-inspired drinks. We tried the Silver Spritz, which was a tequila-based drink that was super refreshing. There was a subtle sweetness from the lychee and Calpico, and a great bright drink! We also tried their Falling Mountain, which had a strong Thai milk tea taste and coconut taste that blended together well. The bourbon base also did not taste too heavy, and was a cocktail to enjoy with our snack. We tried their truffle fries, and I enjoyed the strong truffle taste that made it a great snack to munch and chat with a friend while enjoying our drinks. The flavors were fun and I enjoyed the unique menu they had!

Came for an event and had so much fun. Celebrated Chinese New Year trying cocktails and playing MJ. Best part was bumping into Yelp friends. Staff friendly and attentive. Love the MJ den vibes. Won three consecutive hands with the help of the pros lol

Went to Mr. Mahjong's for a mahjong event and it was such a cool experience. The event had a speakeasy vibe -- a little hidden and tucked away. We had to take the stairs down to find it, which made it feel even more exclusive and fun. The organizers were super friendly and welcoming, offering help to anyone who needed it, which made it approachable even for newer players. Upstairs in the main area, it was definitely lively. It got pretty crowded, especially later in the night, but that just added to the energy. The drinks were good, the bartender was really nice and attentive, and they had great music playing that kept the vibe up all night. The space is decorated beautifully with a Chinese-inspired aesthetic -- moody lighting, thoughtful details, and overall very vibey. Just expect it to get packed during peak hours. Overall, such a unique and fun spot for events and drinks. I'd definitely go back for another mahjong night.

Did you know there's a secret comedy show hidden inside @mrmahjongs in SF? This ranks our top comedy shows we've been to! We were literally laughing our butts off and at the end of the show, our cheeks were hurting lol. It's a secret within a secret! Mr. Mahjong's secret speakeasy downstairs hosts a comedy show every Friday night by @thespotlightcomedy! So grab some Asian inspired cocktails and bar bites at the bar, get ready to laugh, and then stay afterwards to dance the night away back upstairs with a live DJ and music (every thursday-saturday), check their IG for the monthly line up.

Still really enjoy this place and their drinks! Probably my favorite go to place if I'm going out. The drinks always hit. I enjoy going before it gets too crowded which I feel they usually get more busy after 10 PM. Tonight I ordered two Black Token and was charged $36, so I do think I got overcharged for drinks (menu states $16 and tax was not included). Be mindful of checking your bill before you sign. *** EDIT: manager let me know they do a $2 up charge on drinks after 10PM. I didn't see any signage, but maybe I missed it. Just good to know as I usually leave before 10PM so I never realized!

You ever go somewhere and accidently think they will have mahjong there because thats the name of the bar? Well i did... and let me tell you they do not have mahjong, yet (or so im told). Popped into Mr.Mahjongs on a friday night for some food, drinks and games. The drinks were tasty and floral just like how i like them!! The dishes we ordered were the potstickers (average but still good) and the fried chicken sandwhich. The owner was the one serving us food and was very friendly. Overall food and drinks were good. I wasnt amazed but i would definitely come back. After we ate we went to the basement thinking there was people playing mj down there... there was not. Its just another dance room and we were so early they were still setting up. The owner was super friendly and explained to me he is *trying* to get mj going but doesnt know when that will happen. He said the downstairs floor is edm and upstairs is RnB! I honestly liked the music in both areas. I enjoyed the vibe and would come back again for a night out!

Unique bar in the downtown SF area, I liked how it's very Chinese themed. Their concoctions puts a twist to unique asian flavors. We came to Mr. Mahjong for a Hot Ones Challenge hosted by Dear Community. We were able to try this new bar on our list and enjoy a fun Hot Ones challenge. Their food menu was also unique. They have a happy hour from 5-7pm! Rice Paper nacho - 7/10, not tortilla chips but fried rice paper. It felt a little on the saltier end which I didn't like but overall the flavor is bold and there. Sliver Spritz - 10/10, tasted like a calpico Golden Tonic - 10/10, very refreshing We started eating so don't remember how Green Gates and Shallow Moon tasted but it was still good.

Somehow ended up here after a long day in SF. Walk into a dark, loud bar and there's a staircase on the side that leads you down to the mahjong room. It's a little hidden, chaotic, and memorable. It feels like a lounge with music going in the background and clacking of tiles. Tons of tables packed with people playing and chatting.

I came around 5pm on a weekday and it was pretty dead. It's cute inside, but I head it gets pretty busy at night. The bartender was kind and made our drinks quickly and good.

I came here for a mahjong event and it was very cool! As you enter the bar, there are many decorations. The ceiling is full of Chinese lanterns and the vibe is red. There were dragons on the ceilings too. I'm not sure if all this is for lunar new year but it definitely created its own sort of ambiance. The bar is on the first floor and on the side, there were stairs leading downstairs to their mahjong setup. It gave more of a speakeasy vibe going downstairs. The kitchen also seems to be there as there were wafts of food coming downstairs. There are several tables for mahjong and the instructor was very helpful in explaining the rules and sat down to play with us! His tiles were face up so that made it easier to learn the rules. This would definitely be a great place for anyone who wants to enjoy a bar with ambiance and play mahjong downstairs (need to check which nights they have it). I had a fun experience!

We ordered shishito peppers and mushroom bahn mi sliders. The mushroom bahn mi sliders were amazing - the quality fillings and taste of the soft bun - I was unexpectedly hit with a bite of spice from maybe jalapeño seeds left but didn't sour my experience. The shishito peppers ended up being extremely spicy as well, those are usually just a few spicy and not the majority. The roasted lemon and salt was a wonderful combo but just too spicy to eat. However, the server very kindly removed it from our bill without us asking. We order the crostini because we were still hungry and that was an absolute hit. Delicious med-soft crostini with luscious berries and sweet honey. I didn't care my hands got sticky as it was soooo good! Great experience, I would be weary if the peppers as I'm a bit spice-intolerant but everything else was spot-on.

It takes a lot for me to consider a return visit to a cocktail bar. Most of the time, I just begrudgingly go along with my friends to a mediocre bar, but Blind Pig is a place I would enthusiastically return to again and again. I first got the namesake cocktail: Blind Pig. It was incredibly well-balanced, and the flame presentation upon arrival was an epic mini show. Later during last call, I decided to risk it all and roll the dice to order from the secret menu. I rolled a 5, which got me a wine & Japanese beer concoction with Sichuan peppercorn. Totally feel like this cocktail was made for me, as I rep the 川渝 region. The drink was strong, but that made it all the better. Seeing that it was named one of the top 50 best bars in North American, we had to check it out! We came in a Thursday night in mid-April about 9:45 PM. They have security outside thar checks IDs & also manages the queue in case the bar gets too crowded. We had no issues getting in, but there were zero indoor seats available - both the bar & table seating. Thankfully, they have a really cozy & well-lit patio area. The waitress let us know that even the outdoor patio has table-side service, so we made ourselves comfortable on the outdoor bench & within seconds she had brought us waters & cocktail menus. Weather outside was really nice, so I'm glad we actually sat outside. Each cocktail is $20, which definitely is a little steep, but I think the creativity, quality, & prestige of being named a top 50 bar supports the price. Each part of the menu is organized by liquor ie whiskey, vodka, brandy, gin, etc. We tried 4 drinks total. I only took menu photos of the pages we ordered from but they have a lot more selections. We ordered the Kung Fu Pandan, Silky Street, Rice Rice Baby, & Tropical Gangsta. We had some favorites over others, but all were very well crafted! The drinks came out pretty quickly considering how busy it was. The only hiccup was our final drink took quite a while. Turns out the ticket machine malfunctioned & deleted orders put in & caused a back-up. The waitress was so apologetic & ended up comp-ing 2 drinks, which she definitely didn't have to but it speaks volumes to the high standards they hold themselves to & their customer service. Overall, highly highly recommend checking this place out for a fun night out or post-dinner treat! Glad we made the decision to stop in!
