Superb dining experience Old school professional service with server attentive and educated on the menu There was four in the party so we got a chance to sample many entrees and drinks Two prime rib dinners and two tomahawk heirloom pork chops Caesar salads were full bodied dressing and flavorful croutons- anchovy experience We had three sides with squash and broccoli rated "6" and the other a solid 5 stars Classic cocktails- waiting for the Rat Pack to walk in

A palm springs highlight. Note the valet is free. I sat at the bar, and bartender Kevin was quick, professional and friendly. The atmosphere is upscale and calm on the dining room side, old-timey and upbeat on the tavern side. I ordered oysters ($4/ea), 18-oz rare bone-in ribeye ($110), carrot cake and mint ice cream ($10-15). It takes a lot of trust for me to order seafood in the desert, but I'm told their oysters are flown in fresh daily from Washington, and I believe it. If I had room, I would have eaten more. The ribeye was flawless. Lovely cut served ala carte with a charred lemon. Perfectly charred on the outside, and consistently rare across the whole steak within. Whoever is in charge of the kitchen really has thinges figured out if they can nail these preparations for a 200-seat steakhouse. The price tag felt justified; if alone and hungry, you will leave full, but two people could easily share it and be happy. Desserts were pleasant as well. The carrot cake had a smooth, consistent texture, and the spearmint ice cream was refreshingly vibrant. I heard the cake used to have walnuts before the nut-free dessert menu overhaul, and I think I would prefer it that way should it be offered again. My recommendation: show up, order a big steak, leave happy. Hope to be back when I return to the area.

The food here is phenomenal! Definitely one of my favorite happy hours in Palm Springs! Service is impeccable, I love the vibe here. Very dark and moody, ideal for a date night or a special occasion celebration! Their cocktails are always made perfectly, and I absolutely love their steak sandwich as well as the onion rings! Plenty of easy parking, highly recommended if you are looking for a delicious dinner in Palm Springs!

In many ways Mr. Lyons has become a Palm Springs institution. Lots to choose - from traditional steakhouse fare (prime rib, beef Wellington, and steak frites) to more contemporary offerings (lobster ravioli, salmon tartare, Korean fried chicken). Old Hollywood ambience. Friendly service. Add this to your next dinner out in Palm Springs.

Great Customer Service, love the ambiance and feel of this old style steakhouse. Tristan our Server did a great job, very personable and attentive. Food and drinks were phenomenal. Loved the Deviled Eggs Beef Wellington was to die for, haven't had it at The Bakery in downtown Chicago, SUPERB Hasselback Sage Butternut Squash, with Walnut Honey Butter-Excellent Sticky Toffee Date Pudding-Unbelievable Valet Parking is available Only con I have is the Kitchen Appreciation Fee of 2% is not "APPROPRIATED" -That is why one gives 20-25% Gratuity, they should share with support staff!

Service was great, atmosphere was exciting and the food was amazing. Between the group of 5, we had many items, but the shining stars were the hamachi crudo, the cauliflower and leek gratin, the brussel sprouts, the pork chop, and the carrot cake. The pork chop literally fell of the bone, the crudo melts in your mouth, and the carrot cake was to die for. Definitely recommend.

Just Wow ! We have One of the coolest and swankiest place in Palm Springs. Located on the south side of PS this place is just cool. My wife and I split a wedge salad the best !! I had the beef Wellington !! It was perrrrr-Fect! My wife had the Filet cooked medium rare and it was full of flavor ! Our sides - Cream or corn (taste like desert ) their signature brussels sprouts (I don't know if they fry them or what) but they're crispy and delicious. Their mashed potatoes were so buttery yum yum once again tastes like a dessert ! Alan at the bartender was the best bartender ever with great drinks and good conversation. He recommended our dessert. The mint ice cream was out of this world and the New York style cheese.Cheesecake was next level. We will be back!

Came here for my 1 year anniversary and loved every bit of it. Mr lyons is dim, moody and elegant. One of the most romantic restaurants in the greater Palm Springs by far. They have valet and it is complimentary but make sure to tip if you can! We were treated to champagne for our anni and also brought our own bottle of wine for a $35 corkage fee. We ordered the potato chip salad, the French onion soup, the prime rib, Brussels sprouts and Mac and cheese. Potato chip salad (1/10) I really did not like this and my bf didn't either but I am sure if you like a strong fennel taste you will be fine French onion soup (7/10) Nice and hot with a crispy top. Tasted strongly of herbs Prime rib (10/10) absolutely perfect, no comments needed Brussels sprouts (10/10) seasoned so well, crisped to perfection Mac and cheese (7/10) cheesy cavatappi noodles but could use more thickening or crisping Our server was so attentive and kind, thank you to him! Would highly reccomend this place, it is so welcoming and has great food!

Low key it feels like this place either can't handle large parties or prefers not having people of color there unless they're on payroll. Our food came out cold. 2 of us had asked for a pan sear on the prime rib which I know can be frowned upon but it's my money if you want it do what I'm asking you to do. This place is made for people who don't like flavor on their food besides the salt and pepper you can add at the table. A word of advice, at these prices if your order doesn't come out to satisfactory, stop eating send it back ask for the bill and go to the del taco where even at their worst, you're still getting hot food. This would have been a one star but the ambience is chill for drinks. Poor Mr Lyon he has to be turning over in his grave

We are not from plan springs so we came across this place looking on yelp. The place looked chick, I loved the dim lights and ambiance. The service was exceptional our waiter Edgar made sure we had the most outstanding service and help us choose between drinks and food. The food was delicious, the slow roasted short ribs Edgar suggested was mouth watering and the sides are generous plenty to share for 2. If I ever come back to palm spring im definitely coming back.

All the menu items ordered were fabulous. We originally requested seating in the lounge, but the table was really small and was not going to be able to fit our food. The restaurant was very accommodating and allowed us to move to the terrace seating. The decor in the room had elegant brass fittings, great lighting, and the windows provided an outdoor feeling. The encrusted broccoli was incredible. Onion rings was a very generous portion. The beef wellington was cooked perfectly. The pork could have been a little less cooked. It was a tiny bit dry. Fried chicken was also a generous portion. We were too full for desert. We headed over to Seymour - the speakeasy bar at Mr. Lyons. Highly recommend you carve time into your evening to stop by. A curated eclectic list of drinks. Cheers!

We choose this spot to celebrate our companions birthday while we were in palms springs . They have a speak easy so we thought have a great dinner and some amazing drinks . Service - the service was on point. Nothing short of amazing to be honest they were very attentive. Food- we had the filet and salad baked potato . Every item we tried was delicious served to perfection . Perfectly cooked steak just how a steak house should be . Drinks - well the speakeasy was a let down it was packed and we couldn't even sit down but hey that's what you expect of a happening place . Just wish they would serve drinks a bit faster . Overall a great experience and delicious food

Is the Beef Wellington still on the menu? See it in a lot of pictures here but it's not on their menu online.

It is a specialty now, seasonally on the menu. It is excellent!!!

    Dress code? Typical steakhouse attire?

Yes, typical steakhouse attire. Elevated but not stuffy. Dress up, it's fun! No jackets are required - it is Palm Springs after all...

Does Mr. Lyons have any outdoor seating?

it looks like they do have a little private patio area but every time that i've gone they don't have it set up. so it's best to call and ask!

Do they still have happy hour?

Happy Hour is Wednesday-Sunday from 5-7 pm. Happy Hour menu here: https://www.mrlyonsps.com/menu#menu=happy-hour

    Do they do "takeout "?

    Yes.

Is this place kid friendly? (well behaved kids?) lol..

They are pretty chill so I think it would be ok

The drinks were strong and well-made, and even though the place was packed, our waitress stayed attentive and checked in with us consistently. It's clear they specialize in more elaborate cocktails, so a bit of a wait is understandable. The ambiance is also a highlight--dark, intimate, and really leans into the tiki vibe. **Night two** was the complete opposite. We accidentally mixed up our reservation time, but since the place was nearly empty, we were seated right away, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, everything went downhill from there. We had a different waitress, and despite being one of only a few parties there when we arrived, we waited **45 minutes** without seeing our drinks--while other groups seated after us were already being served (and even getting second rounds). We eventually had to flag down our waitress, who had hardly checked on us at all. When we asked about the delay, she said they were "very busy,". After mentioning how long we'd been waiting, there wasn't any real apology--just visible annoyance. She told us our drinks were "up next," but after another 20 minutes passed with nothing, we decided to leave after over an hour of waiting. It was disappointing, especially after such a positive first experience. A simple apology or some communication would have gone a long way. Sadly, the inconsistency makes it hard to know which version of this place you're going to get.

That said, much of the food was excellent. The Duck Liver Pâté was incredible, and the Red Thai Curry Mussels were unique without overwhelming heat. The Cacio e Pepe was one of the standout dishes of the week. Those thick noodles were fantastic. We also ordered the Steak Frites and upgraded to filet. Unfortunately, it came out overcooked, and I asked for it to be removed from the check. On the other hand, the Smoked Bone-In Duroc Pork Chop was perfectly prepared and incredibly moist. Dessert finished strong. The Aniston's Pavlova was excellent, especially the Chantilly cream. The warm chocolate chip cookies were delicious too, although $15 for cookies is definitely a Palm Springs moment. Pricey? Very. Worth experiencing? Absolutely.

Neil was welcoming, accommodating, and personally secured a table for our party of six when we returned after 9pm. His hospitality and the venue concept itself are excellent. Unfortunately, the service we received afterward from another staff member, Billy, did not match that standard. The venue is extremely dark, so we used the small table lamp to read the menu. Billy instructed us not to use it because it "wasn't the vibe of the establishment," and told us to use our phone lights instead. The tone was abrupt and dismissive. Around 9:50pm he announced last call. When one guest ordered, his response was, "I guess if you must." Others asked for a moment to decide and were repeatedly rushed. We explained we weren't aware they closed as 10, as Neil had told us it would be open seating after 10. He replied, "Yeah, well I'm closing tonight and I'm closing at 10." When drinks were delivered, they were set down forcefully. As we were leaving, a member of our group overheard Billy speaking negatively about us to another employee, including mocking someone in our group for needing glasses to read the menu and implying she was intoxicated (she wasn't). When this was addressed directly, he did not apologize and instead insisted we had overstayed, which is inaccurate. We ordered promptly after being told last call and left after finishing our drinks. It's disappointing that one staff member's conduct overshadowed what should have been a highlight of their visit. I won't assign motives, but I will note that Billy's demeanor noticeably shifted after the final member of our group, who happens to be Black, arrived. I cannot determine why, only that the change in tone was clear. Neil has created something special here. However, a venue's reputation ultimately depends on how guests are treated when ownership is not present. Based on this visit, there is a significant gap between the hospitality the owner provides and the service delivered in his absence. I hope Neil takes a close look at what happens when he's not present, because with the right staff, this could easily be a place we'd want to return to.

I forgot his name but the bartender was very nice and you could tell he likes his job. We got there and ordered a drink, and we're lucky enough to get a free order of some delicious bread sticks. The drink was very tasty for a decent price, so I would come back for more drinks.

It caught our attention as we had stayed in two different Kimpton Hotels in Seattle prior. We wanted to grab a drink at the Window Bar (not knowing that was its actual name, but the conversation we had with the bartender about that window shining too much light at certain parts of the morning definitely gave me a chuckle in hindsight). We happened to be a bit early since he had not been able to finish setting up shop yet. We went ahead and waited until he was ready without rushing him because we ourselves weren't in any rush at all. Surrounded by a ton of nice interesting artwork, it was a pure joy to enjoy a drink or two in this environment. The bar can be found at the corner on the other side of the hotel concierge in plain sight from such a big space for a lobby, directly left upon entrance through the front. Since it was slow in the morning, we were able to chat it up with the bartender and even explore a bit of experimentation in the form of a particular top secret cocktail that every mixologist knows. I definitely exercised my etiquette and reading the conditions to even suggest it. He couldn't be any nicer about our time with him. So yeah, Christopher H. from 9/9/18, I don't know what you're talking about. I make it a point to visit the bar at any Kimpton location nowadays. I always seem to have a good time. But then again, I can only speak for myself. Parking: Street, unless you're a guest at the hotel. FYI: - Despite the hours on Yelp saying this place is open from 4-10pm, they might open earlier, as we joined in at around 11am or noon. But don't hold me to it. If there's somebody at the bar, you'll need to simply ask if it is open yet.
