He didn't try to do a temporary fix...he replaced the whole thing properly and even adjusted the door so it closes better than it ever did before. Everything works perfectly now. He was punctual, quick, and professional, and the pricing was great, especially considering he brought all the replacement parts with him and got the job done efficiently.
