Matt was so sweet and helpful! My car fob was broken and he did everything he could to fix my fob. Since it was broken pretty badly, he wasn't sure if what he did would work as a permanent solution. I lost my car key. Called the Subaru dealer who told me it would take 3-5 days to get a new key (for $251 or so and another $200 plus to program it). Also it would take a few hours to do the programming. Ugh. Went online and found positive comments about Mr. Keyman. Called them and John confirmed they had the key blank and could program it. Hard to find an actual locksmith with a retail store. I walked in and it is a Classic Locksmith with the walls covered in keys, some looking almost a century old. After striking out at a couple of the key machines, lowe's and home depot; I started looking for a locksmith. All the ads that popup on yelp search and first few listing are for Mobile Locksmiths. I didn't want to call a mobile locksmith for a $5 office cabinet or sentry lockbox key. As soon as I walked in I knew they were going to have the key I needed. Came here to get keys copied for locker for my old job. This was the only place that was able to copy the keys that needed copying. I went to The Home Depot and the Lock Experts that was right by S. Melrose and weren't able to copy them because they didn't have the type of key. The Lock Experts were the ones who recommended this place. There was only one employee working when I was there. He copied all the keys that I needed copying and answered waiting customers questions in a timely manner. I'd go here if no other place would not be able to copy a key. read more

If I could leave zero Stars I would. This was my second time to this establishment. The last time I went in I had three keys cut two didn't even work and I had to go back. I needed a key and happen to be about a half a block away so I went back and thought I would give them a try. I got three keys cut which cost me $42. Are you kidding me $42 for three normal everyday keys nothing special. If you like your wallet don't show up here go to home Depot next door and get a key cut or better yet use a file in your garage. I locked the keys in my rental car and was skeptical about getting the car opened to retrieve them without putting a scratch on it. Both the rental car keys are wired together making it so that you cannot take them apart, so I didn't bother trying to contact the rental car company. I called Mr. Keyman and the owner took my call despite the shop being closed. He drove out to my home and was able to quickly unlock my rental without any scratches. What a lifesaver!
