This is a one star review just because their customer service is terrible. I am so frustrated with this company I'm not going to let it slide. I needed an additional keyless remote for my car. I called Day & Night and they had to order the fob. They said they would call me when it came in and then I could set up an appointment. Several days went by and I decided I would call them. The fob had come in but they had never bothered to call me. I made an appointment and they could not program the remote. They said they would order another one and call me when it came in. I never heard back from them. I really don't understand what the problem is. Why not just say you don't want to do the job or you can't do the job. Why leave people hanging? read more

So after calling around I realized this place had the best price and also a much friendlier person picking up the phone than any other locksmith I tried. I am very happy with the service and professionalism of Day & Night Security Lock and Safe - I had them some to my new home and re-key 4 locks for me. Setting up my appointment was quick and easy, and I was given an accurate quote over the phone. My scheduled appointment was between 11 and 1 but when the tech wasn't at my house near 1 PM, I called to confirm. Michelle was very apologetic and made sure I was taken care of. She even called me to let me know when the technician was 10 minutes away. Even though they were busy and running behind, the level of service made up for it. If you are writing a review of a locksmith there is a good chance you've locked yourself out of your car, your house, or done something silly that requires some professional help. My scenario was I had a nail file embedded into my car's ignition. I tried for two hours to dislodge it myself using professional grade tweezers, needle nose pliers, etc. Chris from Day & Night arrived within the hour. Did the work for the exact fee quoted over the phone. Completed the work quickly and efficiently and didn't leave until after he made sure I used the key to verify indeed everything was in working order. I highly recommend this shop, they are a AAA provider, and he was a pleasure to do business with. They also make keys for many cars (not the ones that require you to go to the dealer) so I had him make me a spare key for surfing! read more

I learned long ago that the $45 we spend for AAA is really just a "if the Fates frown then smile on you, then your car will break down within 7 miles of where you need to be towed and it will be free." But always tip. I have yet to have a free tow but I am thankful Day/Night was who AAA sent our business to. I lost my only set of keys to the car. Yes, I will be buying one of those RFID things (Tracker?) because I spent far too long bent over slowly walking the path from my vehicle to front door....the neighbors must have thought I was trying my best to see the very molecules the concret and grass were made of.... Now, I have found "lost keys" in the refrigerator, inside a cereal box and even a pair that were clutched in the skeletal hands of Jimmy Hoffa. I usually make 2-3 spares, leaving a set with the in laws. But I recently found (as a 42 year old man) that yes, some adults actually need the medication some lawyers, doctors and graduate students use to "keep the midnight oil burning." I lose things, I am impulsive (have you moved to Maui 3 months after visiting Belize because "it will be fun," or purchased a $90 coin from the storied reign of Justinian (Nika! Nika!). What actually made me keep the appointment is reading an article that claimed adults who were not treated for ADD are 87% more likely to die on an auto accident then "normal" adults. Nota Bene: 67.57% of all statistics you read in online comments are 23% incorrect 45% of the time. Anyway, for those brave souls down here I wanted to thank you for your time. I suggest you save Day and Night right now in your phone. Be prepared! And people, get that fire safe at Staples, get that external hard drive and make sure all those amazing pics and vids you have on your phone are safe and secure....who knows, maybe in 78,098 the AI super beings who will inherit this corner of the galaxy from us may discover said hard drive, build a simulated universe and recreate you and your loved ones as they seek to understand how a smallish tribe of hunter gatherers survived the Toba explosion and not only dominated the planet but one Day created beings so advanced the processing power of their minds meant one hour to them would seem like a decade to us and traveling and populating a few local stars really wasn't a big deal. read more

My 16 year old daughter lost her keys at school. I was at work and called several places until I found this one; they have great prices. The customer service was amazing from the start. The locksmith was going to meet her after school in the student parking lot. I was notified that the driver was running a little late. When I called my daughter to let her know she was getting anxious because she has low blood sugar and was nervous because she didn't have her snack. When I called back to see if he could possibly hurry, the woman in the office said she would call her guy right away and have him stop on the way to grab a snack and a water for her, so she could eat when he arrived. They don't seem to have businesses with this level of commitment and service. Cheap, quick, efficient! Canvassed around for a decent price for getting a duplicate for the car key I lost. Theirs was the cheapest one I found. My car is newer so they needed to order the key and asked me to call back for an appointment in a couple of days. I called at 9am today and asked if I could come in in an hour. Fortunately, they weren't as busy so I was able to come in. It took Chris 15 minute to duplicate my key. He programmed it so it could unlock and start the vehicle. They key worked just fine even if it was initially locked by my original remote key. I'm one satisfied customer! read more

I went in to get my car lock replaced because my key wasn't fitting anymore and was met by Michelle and Chris, the owners. They were super helpful and informative and helped me right on the spot. They recommended that I not fix the lock itself but rather get new keys cut and programmed as that was where the problem was. I've been here a few times for different reasons and every time they have been extremely friendly, professional, and helpful even if they couldn't totally help. Once I simply told them my car key wasn't working so they got in my car and cleaned up the key hole and made me a couple copies of my best up and completely worn down key. They worked flawlessly and even my old key worked in the serviced key hole! All this with similes and politeness for only $10!! I've been in for other key copies, (which only cost $3!!!!!!) and on hot days they offer me cold waters while I wait a whopping 3 minutes. Great place read more

I had a problem turning on my vehicle due to the ignition switch. I called around and was told I would need a whole new ignition assembly from the dealer, which would cost over $300. I called D&N and they were like... Sure, we'll just re-tool the existing parts. They came out to my work and got it fixed in under an hour. Total cost, after AAA discount, $140! Drove into Oceanside from LA the previous Friday afternoon to ride Bike the Coast on Saturday. Bike was locked to the rack on the back of my car, but the lock was jammed and I couldn't get the bike unlocked. I called AAA, and they referred me to D&N. So at 4:30p, I called D&N and Michelle was very helpful and friendly. She asked me to drive in because it was end of the day and gave detailed directions to the shop. When I got there she and the tech took good care of me. The tech (sorry, I forgot his name) was able to pop the lock in less than 5 minutes. I was so sure that I wouldn't be able to do the ride.
