We have been camping in Borrego Springs and lost our RV keys somewhere in the desert. Good Sam put us in contact and they went up and beyond. They were able to make us 2 keys. Talk about going ABOVE and BEYOND! First my phone conversations with Joe were very informative and he stayed true to his word. In fact he was able to procure a replacement key for my SUV so fast, I had to ask him to wait a day before coming over to program it! When David arrived the next day, he was very friendly and professional. He programmed my new key only to find out that the battery in my SUV was dead. Out of the goodness of his heart, David gave me a jump start! I let the vehicle idle for about 20 minutes and then took off to Walmart. When I stopped the vehicle, it hadn't recharged enough and it wouldn't start back up. I panicked and called David. And get this: David came and met me at the Walmart parking lot, and recharged the SUV again for me! How thoughtful is that?!?!? Now the vehicle is running smoothly. The new key works perfectly and I am extremely grateful to American Locks and Keys for such superior customer service!! read more

These guys are great. I had extra Toyota chipped keys made (at $75 a piece by the way) in an hour or so. They're very friendly and know what they're doing. No BS or upcharging. Make sure you call them before heading down as they do a lot of mobile work. read more

I locked myself out of my car, during rush hour traffic. If it weren't for American Locks and Keys I would have had to pay a third of my paycheck just to get home today. ____ was kind and calm when he answered the phone and reassured me that he could help me. Contacted to see if they have a certain key and never got a call back. Oh well off to the next key place.

Looked up different locksmiths around my area, looked up prices, reviews, hours, and what not. American Locks & Keys had many positive reviews so I made the call. Same day service, affordable rates, and they called before arriving on site. Technician was quick, which I appreciated. Plus I received a business card with my info so if I had an incident again and needed their service it would be a faster process. Thank you! read more

My husband just got home from American Locks & Keys having successfully gotten a spare key made for our car. I had locked myself out one evening and NEVER want that to happen again! He had to go to many places, including the dealer. The dealer would have been very expensive and the other places didn't have the kind of key we have. Cleveland was a very kind and "can do" person and had all the equipment to do this. The work/key was very reasonably priced considering how important to MY security it is. We highly recommend this business! read more

Waited from 6:20-9pm for lockout service with an eta that changed three times! I could have called someone else had they just been upfront with me but instead they let me sit there with the wife and kids for almost three hours! My youngest managed to lock my keys in the truck so I called Usaa around 6:20 they contacted American Lock & Key for the service. Got a confirmation text at 6:30 for an eta of "within 90 mins". Called them for an eta at 7:45 for an update and they told me around 8:30! Called back at 8:30 then they told me 9pm! Finally showed up at 9pm thankfully but with no apology and the guy was talking on his phone at first while setting up to unlock my truck.. wow. Not happy.. read more

Joe and his brother are absolutely awesome people. I was in the middle of a dreadful last minute situation on the multifamily property we managed that resulted in me not having keys to any of the units we needed access to the next morning. I was able to set up an appointment at 10:30pm for the next morning. They showed up right on time, got right to work, and were very thorough. They are super nice people and work very hard to solve the problem or do what needs to be done for the situation in the appropriate steps. Their pricing is very fair with a base price for travel (completely reasonable and expected), and then the services added on as needed (also a reasonable price). Very professional, reliable, and honest guys. I added them to our company's list of home vendors to refer to my clients should they ever need a locksmith. FYI, these guys go all the way down to the 56 freeway for work, and for a slightly higher fee south San Diego. Ended up creating keys for door locks I did not have the keys to, replacing a lock assembly on a garage, and making a few key copies on the fly. read more

Awesome service! They made a perfect copy of my car key-- this was after my original broke, so it was a copy of a copy. I definitely recommend coming here above anywhere else in Vista. read more

1. Referred to me by another locksmith in the area who could handle making an "original" car key by key code. 2. Good communication from their rep so "David" could be there to help me when I arrived with the car. 3. Took perhaps 15 minutes for him to pull the lock and cut the chip key I brought in. 4. I called today needing a locksmith to respond to a residence only giving just a couple of hours notice for a multiple cylinder rekey. I am also a field technician with my home office being 40 miles away and they were able to accept payment over the phone from my office. Joe showed up and was quick and professional he even lubed up the front entry door lock as the handle was sticking just as a courtesy. I found them on Yelp as all of their reviews were 5 stars just as this one I am giving today. There were no hidden fees everything was straightforward and could not ask for a better locksmith experience I mean who charges $12 for a rekey such a great deal thank you! read more
