I recently had my key fob battery die, I replaced the battery and the lock unlock function worked but the car wouldn't start. I called the local dealer and they said I needed. to reprogram the key and the charge was $155. I called Lock Experts Locksmith in th Home Depot center and spoke with Eric who said the car retains the programming. He said I might have a problem with the "transponder ". A small piece of plastic in the fob but not part of the circuit board had come out when I replaced the battery. Eric said if I put it back in the fob the car should start. He was right, the car started right up. This is where I will go for any future key or locksmith work. Honest, very knowledgeable and he took the time with on the phone to solve my problem. Today I walked into Lock Experts Locksmith with a bit of a problem. I just bought a house with a master closet door that had a lock on it but no keys for it. I had to get two new fobs purchased and programmed for two different cars (one Kia and one Honda), and he was able to do both without trouble. These little devices must be lined with gold or manufactured with unicorn tears- they are not cheap, but Lock Xperts' prices beat the dealer by a solid 20%. Eric had one of the ones I needed in stock, and the other he had to order, but it was no inconvenience to me. He came to my place of work, got the programming done in a matter of minutes, and was able to take cc payment at his truck. Eric was absolutely brilliant in fixing the 3-point locking mechanism on our Andersen door. We had called another locksmith who came out, took one look at it, and said "I'm not your guy." Tonight was so scary I buckled up my 3 year old and one year old in their car seats inside a car rental I put the keys in the driver seat so my one year old doesn't press the alarm at 11 pm at night. Instead of the remote start to happen it aborted and it locked the doors and my two kids were locked in too. I called the car rental AVIS and they were horrible I waited on the line with them they said they would dispatch someone and once they did they would let me know I called them back 4 times and no luck. I contacted dodge separately to get their emergency services they were going to take long too but had them on the way I called the police they were going to break the window and recommended using the emergency roadside instead unless the kids were in distress. I then found Eric on yelp and he got here before all of them. He quickly unlocked the car and we had the kids out without them knowing what had actually happened. THANK YOU SO MUCH ERIC!!!
