We used ASAP twice to rekey the garages at an apartment complex. The first time went well, although a bit pricey. The second time wasn't great. Drive 45 minutes to meet them at the unit and they didn't show. The miscommunication went like this: Me: What availability do you have between 1-3pm? Them: Monday or Tuesday. Me: Okay Monday, see you at noon. Them: Thumbs up Not that big of a deal but I could tell he thought it was my fault and was annoyed with me for expecting him on Monday at noon? Either way, I gave their number to the tenant and they didn't show up another time before coming by the second time and fixing it. read more

So I was having a crazy morning and one of the priorities became getting my door lock changed. My 2009 Honda civic drivers door lock not working. called ASAP lock and the arrived in an hour or so. to make a long story short spent $275 for new keys and was told if it was not the key they would come out and replace the tumblers. 1 week later lock not working, he came back tried again to no avail. now want more money to repair tumblers with no guarantee, so I am out $275, just had the repair done by another mobile lock smith and cost $180. DO NOT USE ASAP LOCK AND KEY OCEANCIDE....HE RIPPED ME OFF!!! read more

Obviously if you have to call a locksmith it's not a good day. I locked myself out of my apartment with a crying baby and was desperately looking for someone that would answer and be able to come out right away. He was great in every way came out within 20 minutes of me calling and stuck to The price that he quoted me over the phone. Expensive yes, however after seeing the work needed to get the door opened I'd say it was about right. Again he was awesome did everything he possibly could so he wouldn't have to drill out the lock. Joseph is a lifesaver. My genius self somehow lost the mailbox key and I didn't realize it was our only one, and there was important mail that we needed asap. I was worried because it was getting close to 5 pm and most locksmith places were closing. However, I found this number for ASAP lock and key and Joseph was quickly responsive and said he was able to get to our home by 6:30 and was actually there early by 6:15! He was quick and efficient. I've never dealt with losing a mail key so I thought he was just going to come and unlock the mailbox for us and that we'd have to deal with the HOA for a new key later on and that it'd be a huge hassle. But Joseph not only unlocked our mailbox; he made us 2 new keys on the spot which I didn't expect but it was a nice surprise! I was worried I was going to get charged extra or have some hidden costs but it was exactly the amount he had told me it would be from the start. So refreshing not to be slammed with extra hidden costs. He also has a 90 day warranty in case anything goes wrong. I highly recommend him. I was faced with an emergency that required a locksmith as soon as possible. I had called several and was quoted a price of $50. None of them could come as soon as I needed. When I called ASAP he said he was 5 minutes away and would be right there. I was so relieved! He showed up and I could see he wasn't as experienced as I hoped but he muddled through (had to recharge his drill while I waited). When he presented the bill I almost fainted! He was charging triple what the other locksmiths charge for the simple job of cutting a lock. It took 15 minutes, including recharging his drill. I believe he took advantage of my need to get the job done quickly and gouged me because he could. Totally a bad experience - I felt taken advantage of and hope no one else uses them without verifying that they will not charge them $160 for a $50 job! read more

We bought a key fob for our car from ASAP (Joseph, I think). After 5 months, the battery died and we had to replace it. After 9 months, the battery died again. This time when we replaced the battery, the new battery would not stay in place. The little hook that holds the battery in was broken. We called ASAP and he said, the warranty is for 6 months. For $200, I will replace the defective key fob, instead of $270. We will not do business with ASAp again. read more

I had an emergency need for my locks to be changed. I contacted Joseph who runs the company and requested his service. He advised me it wouldn't be a problem to come out and change my locks at 5pm. I called others for price quotes and found others cheaper and available but went with him because I scheduled an appt and he said he would price match. 5pm came and went. No word from him and he didn't show up. Called countless times. No answer. 5:45pm I get a text saying "will call later." No idea who this unknown number was and a rather unprofessional text if it was him. Later I find out it's him and he can't make it because his car has taken longer than he expected. Absolutely unprofessional. I told him to send an employee because this was urgent and his reply was "this is a one man show." Ridiculous and absolutely unprofessional. Poor poor business. I was on a vacation and received a call from my pet sitter that the latch wouldn't turn on the front door. I called and spoke to Joseph and he came over immediately to help her.
