I found Unify on Nest.com. When I requested a quote, Randy was very professional and responded in a timely manner. He gave me everything I needed to know about installing a Nest home product ($110). I was so paranoid with worries that the technician wouldn't show up on time or that s/he'd charge me extra for whatever lame excuse once the installation was complete. All of my worries were naught! Before I could call to confirm on the day before, Randy actually called me first to confirm the time that the technician would show up. On the day of, Marvin gave me a 30 minute notice before he got to my house. I was actually worried he was going to cancel because it was pouring rain! He covered his shoes before entering my [Asian] house (we take off shoes in the house), which I really appreciated. He had everything he needed with him - I just had to show him where the mechanical issues were. After the installation was completed, Marvin showed me how to use the Nest app and some cool features on it. HIGHLY RECOMMEND: Just had Nest Smart IQ Outdoor Cameras Installed Hey neighbors. So we had a camera system for years now and I finally decided to upgrade them to the Nest camera system. They gave me a great deal on all 9. They arrived today at 9am and text and called me prior to arriving. They were very professional, patient and willing to learn my requested setup. They walked me through the app and installed everything and customized the camera settings so I didn't have to. They were fast, they cleaned up after themselves, weather sealed the holes they drilled, adjusted the camera angles until I was happy (only a few needed adjusting since they made sure the cameras were optimized for 360 degree capturing of my property). Unify was a pleasure to work with. I found them through requesting a quote on Yelp and they were quick to reply to all my questions. I sent them pictures of my odd shaped living room and they got back to me with a suggestion of the Sonos Arc 5.1 system. They sent out Pat who was very patient with us and professional as we analyzed the best placement for the in-ceiling speakers. Unify charged $50 per placement, including cutting our drywall and it was very worth it. They spent a lot of time and care making sure placement was just right. Unify doesn't do intense drywall work through tight spaces, so they left behind ample amounts of wire for my handyman to finish the in-wall wiring and patching. As for the Sonos gear, they did not up-charge me there either. The price I paid them is the same I'd have paid on Amazon. In fact, some of the items were out of stock on Amazon but Unify had in stock! All in all, these are a great bunch of guys, responsive, well priced and smart. THE BEST IN THE BUSINESS! I hired Unify Smart Home to set up surround sound systems for two of my homes. First, I purchased my Sonos ARC, sub, and receiver through them. For my first home, the actual owner showed up for my installation. This guy was amazing! He connected my Sonos Arc and Sub in my living room and ran my wired outdoor speakers through my walls using the Sonos receiver. I was so impressed I hired them a second time. Next, Unify connected my Yamaha receiver to my second home's upstairs loft. Again, they ran the speaker wire through the walls and ran power and HDMI cables through my cabinets. I also purchased a second sub and receiver from Unify for my living room and had the tech connect my ARC, two subwoofer, game room, and outdoor speakers. These guys are true masters of their art! They quoted me right away and I was able to easily book an appointment for them to get it straighten out. One of team members, I forgot his name, showed up and got right to working on the installation. Patrick and Indiana are stellar. They are the definition of amazing customer service from start to end. Patrick in particular was articulate, friendly, explained everything before he was going to do it, made sure i understood what was happening etc ---just a full on professional. Spoke to Randy initially who was OK. He wasn't thorough with what the job would cost (we needed two Tvs mounted a 70inch and 55 inch with a request to hide wires). He said $200 for the 70 and 140 for the 55. Was never told $170 for the wires to be hid + $30 for the equipment. His quote for that over the phone was "an extra $40 for wires" or so i thought. Needed it done asap as I explained and was told they would arrive at 12--so decided to just chalk it up. Wasn't able to throughly review the email invoice (i have a toddler, just moved in, working from home) until 11 am or so. Noticed on yelp that they give military discounts which wasn't explained/asked by Randy. We are a military family so i emailed randy and asked if that could be applied- his response "i already gave you a discount (?? lol how and when? he never mentioned that) but i'll give another 5% off." Then went on to say oh by the way "they won't be there until close to 130." they arrived at 150..no big deal because Patrick was so kind and amazing --the best technician ever. The job was done pristinely. But i think what businesses don't understand is ratings aren't solely about the work done but the process the customer sought you out to get it done...too bad i can't give 5 stars but boy are you lucky to have Patrick and Indiana on your team! read more

Im not sure how to start since all the reviews with this company are 5 stars. I do have to give it to the Company. They are very professional and out of 5 quotes from the NEST website professionals, Randy was the only one who called me directly and sent me a quote. The other companies sent me a text or a standard email. This is the reason I chose this company, although it was the modest expensive install. On our schedule day, Randy met me about an hour early at (10:00am) than my appointment, at my Moms house. Within half an hour he installed the thermostat. The thermostat was WiFi and ready to go I want to say within 30 minutes to an hour. Next was the Yale Lock with Nest connect. This was a challenge, because the old door lock had a smaller hole. Randy told me that he had to drill a bigger hole so the Yale lock can fit and it was going to be an additional charge of $50.00. I agreed. I just want to say that my NEST app was intermittently working on this particular day. I first thought it was my WIFI but after further researching the NEST app has been having issues since the google merger. Anyhow it took about an hour to drill the hole on the door. And another 3 hours for the Yale lock to be installed. I had my 2 year old with me as well as my sick mother waiting for this job to be completed. I thought that drilling a hole and installing the lock would take about an hour max. I heard Randy speaking to someone who was giving him instructions to drill the hole and which drill bit to use. By than baby was crying my sick mom was hungry and he had to go to the nearest hardware store to buy what he needed to drill the hole. I don't want to write anymore, but 4 hours later, baby exhausted, hungry, and finally the lock was installed. He made several calls on how to install the Nest connect to the phone and so on. By than I realized that he had no idea or that he was familiar with what he was doing. I was force to politely ask him to return another day to complete the job. He insisted he wanted to return Sunday and since I thought it was the WIFI I said I would call spectrum. I called Randy and asked him why the thermostat was not showing on my app, he replied because problems with the WIFI. At that point I was so frustrated and tired that I accepted that answer. I than found out that he had added the thermostat to his phone app. And he never added the thermostat to my phone. Im almost done! I called spectrum. To see if there was an issue. There was no issue. Prior to even spectrum showing up I added the thermostat to my nest app as well as set up the Yale lock myself. Btw it's super easy it dictates instruction and you can set it up before you set up the NEST connect. I YouTube it and the YouTube video was 5 minutes. So how did this take 4 hours and was not completed. The 2 star is because of the lack of expertise and knowledge of what the company is installing and what they advertise. This company is supposed to have NEST certified expert technicians installing these security locks and cameras in your home. On Saturday I did not meet a certified expert technician. I paid $240.00 to this company and installation was never completed. I completed the installation myself in less than 30 minutes. I also had to delete Randy from having access to my home, because when I opened the setting on the NEST app he had given himself admin access to my mothers home. Randy did call me and I explained to him that I had completed everything myself. He was very nice, like I said before, and professional, "he said that if I ever need anything or have issues to give him a call". REALLY! I would not consider calling or hiring this company or even referring them due to this experience. Time is money and 4+ hours is not acceptable and not having proper tools is not acceptable. Since I completed the installation myself I should get at least $50.00 refunded to me. read more

I have been a little slow in writing this review. We recently purchased a pair of Nest cameras and a doorbell camera as well. It was by sure luck that I stumbled across Unify Smart Home and I thank my stars that I did. This company strongly believes and delivers customer service. The installer was super professional, patient, and very knowledgeable. He listened to what I wanted to achieve and then worked with me to find the optimal placement for the camera. He also took the time to make sure we knew how to work everything and checked numerous times to make sure the cameras were installed correctly and working before he left. He also did a great job of hiding the wires and cleaning up after himself. A couple of weeks later we ran into an issue with one of the cameras because the picture was not as clear as the other ones when in night vision. One of the managers, Randy, came out to our house after dark just so he could see what we were talking about and to also check that the camera was working correctly. It ended up that it was getting IR flashback so we scheduled and sent out a technician to come and re-place the camera so that we would have a better night view. It is very hard to find a company that takes customer service to heart and really delivers on the promise. Unify Smart Home is a godsend. It's easy enough to purchase a Nest Cam from an Apple Store and install it in a window. Now, I see the difference between what I can do, and what real professionals are capable of, and it was well worth it. I own two vacation cabins far away from where I live, and although I've peppered both cabins with Nest Cameras, I've never been able to catch the facial details or license plates of the occasional aspiring house thief. I called Unify on Wednesday and had an appointment scheduled for next day to install a Nest camera outdoor. I had an idea where I wanted the camera, but when Patrick W. showed up he suggested another location - not in direct sunlight, pointing in a different direction to capture more points of entry to my home, and no exposed cables. Wow! You can do that? He responded, "that's what we're here for." In the end, I got an outdoor Nest cam adjacent to our garage, with cables hidden in the walls, and cables running on the inside of my garage for continuous power. The camera looks great outside, and delivers terrific viewing angle. Patrick showed me a few tips and tricks on my Nest mobile app, and even suggested if I were to get another outdoor camera, where he would place it.
