Although the outside is unassuming, this restaurant is a true gem. From the moment we walked in we were made to feel like we were a part of the family. The owner (who makes the food herself) is happy to explain any of the food to you. Honestly, this is some if the best Greek food I have ever eaten. We ordered the meat lover kebab platter to split, spanakopita, and dolmades. They were all incredibly fresh and flavorful. I was INCREDIBLY impressed with the quality of the food. They made it just like I requested. I'm regretting not listening to my husband's gut feeling about Mr.Kebab. We found it to be pretty mediocre Greek food. The good - Greek salad, taziki and shrimp kabob. The mediocre - pita bread didn't seem fresh and warm like others I've had, steak kabob was pretty dry and tough. The bad - we both had upset stomachs right after eating here. The woman upfront was so kind and attentive, but the food overall wasn't great, food service was bit slow and we're wondering if we will make it home in time to use to restroom! read more

Well I wanted to give this place a second chance after my first review of Mr. Kebab which was less then stellar. I went in with the attentions of trying their gyro this go around. I enter the restaurant at 11:45. "Not sure if they really have a lunch crowd but wanted to beat it, if they did." No one at the counter. Stood there for about 5 min, still no one. Went to the side and saw the owner was in the back chopping on something. He looked up and gave me a kind of side ways glance and made no move to come up to the counter or offer any kind of service. During this time another patron came in and we had a nice two minute conversation of the lack of service and both left and had lunch at the restaurant next door. So long story short, Mr Kebab has convinced me to go from two stars to one star. Food is sub-par and service is worse. read more

I must be the second reviewer who is either not family, a friend or has to walk to their chosen dining location (haven't been to the other Greek restaurants in the area). My wife and I ate there last night, based on all the glowing reviews. This review specifically compares Mr. Kebab to It's Greek to Us and Yeero Village. The positive: the Greek salad included with the platters was pretty good, with Kalamata olives, a good bit of feta, juicy red tomatoes and a flavorful, but too salty homemade dressing; the husband and wife owners are friendly; it's fairly close to my house. They have an A inspection rating. The neutral: the Greek music playing through the TV, with the artist's information is not intrusive. They have saganaki, but it is fried, not flamed with brandy. The tzatziki served with the platter was flavorful, but only about one tablespoon, so that even after getting extra, it wasn't enough. The Negative: the place is too small for a full service restaurant and the chairs and benches are very plain; the chicken in the kebab had little flavor; the gyro meat was cut into large chunks, rather than strips - since it is already cooked, there was little that got crispy on the vertical heater before slicing and was still dry; with a total of five entrees, counting ours, that they sold while we ate there, I worry about how many days it sits there - probably safe, but dried out; the food was served on a pita bread that was moist, but had little flavor - needed to have some butter or olive oil, and lightly crisped, it sat on aluminum foil - unattractive; the Greek potatoes were crumbly, dry and had only a touch of lemon and oregano flavor; everything is served on foam plates, barely large enough to contain the food, so it falls onto the tables which guests are expected to clean (you can imagine how that works out...); guest are expected to bus their tables, most of which were not clean; the menu is very limited and includes just the most common items; the other Greek places in the area serve much larger portions; there is no liquor license, while the other two serve beer and Greek wine. If all of the above is not enough, the prices are the same as It's Greek to Us and Yeero Village, which are far superior in every respect, including the ambience, more expansive menu and liquor license - to succeed as a quick lunch or fast casual dinner place, they will have to reduce prices, improve the flavors, make it more comfortable and get a liquor license. Otherwise, they will not be in business very long. read more

I hate to give a bad review but this time I must. We ordered kabobs, Dolmades and extra zatziki. The food was actually good but when I dipped my bread in the Zatziki there were two lond dark hairs. I called the waitress over and she apologized and said that the owners wife goes back in the kitchen and monitors what's going on. The problem is she refuses to wear a net. The waitress offered a new bowl of Zatziki but by then I couldn't eat another bite. We paid the bill and left. We will never go back. I'm actually surprised at all the good reviews. Second time here and what a jewel! At first sight it's like any other strip mall type of place...until you eat the food. It's clean....the Owners are such lovely people and they know how to treat their customers as it's like they are family to you. The food is freshly made to order so don't expect the food to come out in a few minutes because it's actually being made...fresh...did I mention it's fresh? I had the Pita Steak Wrap and it was delicious...my wife had the steak salad with feta...again...delicious....did I mention it was delicious? The meat was tender in both entrees and that in and of itself is not common as a lot of restaurants tend to use cheap/tough meat and that ruins the whole meal. Even the fries were great...salt and pepper was already applied and fresh...not greasy. This is a place that we will visit often and I intend to eat myself through the whole menu. read more

Great food seems like real Greeks own and run it...sometimes service is a little slow...but so worth it

A friend and I were looking for somewhere to eat and had decided on sushi. I pulled through the Kroger shopping center to turn around and head back towards the sushi place. By complete accident I saw a small sign that said Mr. Kabab. Mediterranean food, and especially Greek, is my absolute favorite.We decided to give it a try and forgot about sushi pretty quick. We both had lamb and beef gyros and the Greek potatoes. It was delicious. The tzatziki is homemade by the owner, who is very personable. I forgot to ask her name but will definitely do so next time. She checked on us several times and answered all our questions. This is a family run place, which I love. The baklava is huge and to die for! So glad this place is in the neighborhood. My only complaint is that there is no fresh brewed tea, but still 5 stars. I have no problem with drinking water with my food. read more

Great family owned Greek place in the Kroger shopping center at 41 and Nance Road. Husband does the cooking, wife runs the front end. Great Greek food. We go their regularly when we want take- out.
