I LOVE Mr. G's! It's just down the street from my family's house, and it's always been a favorite for us and for everyone coming in out of town! This particular location remodeled to accommodate larger groups, so there's more room to move around and park! Patience is a virtue here. I no longer live there but when I'm in town I make sure I stop by. They use to donate these burritos every Wednesday at a group home I lived in when I was a teenager in Yuma. This is probably the best bean and cheese burrito place in Yuma if that's what you want .. I'm pretty sure they use Monetary or Mozzarella cheese in the burritos and cheese crisp which in my opinion taste better than cheddar :) the salsa has really good flavor but it's so thin it's like a water consistency (just wish it was a little thicker so it didn't run off my food) ... This review is actually from when I came with my family on a trip to Yuma the week of Christmas 2014. :) Anyway, my husband and his parents have long raved about this place to me. So I was pretty excited to have dinner here after a 5 hour car ride. I got a burrito and chips. So good. I ordered one bean and cheese burrito. I think I could have actually ordered 4 and ate them all. They were so good. The chips and salsa were delicious. My husband basically just drinks the salsa with every bite of his burrito. When it came time to head back home to California after a few days, we stopped for lunch at Mr. G's before we left. Once again, I ordered a bean and cheese burrito with a side of some french fries. They were pretty good! Went well with the salsa. And of course, for the ride home, we ordered a few extra burritos to store in the cooler for snacking. :D read more

I was surprised at the poor reviews. Everyone should embrace the good and order the best sellers. Don't order the crappy food and they'll eventually learn they have to change it. I've never had a problem with the food though. It reminds me of cucas in cali a little bit. Cuca's salsa is better though. A must if you want warm tortillas, tasty food and a taste of Mexican cuisine! Even the most simple bean and cheese burritos are amazing! The rolled deep fried tacos are crunchy and lightly alter on the outside and house warm savory meat on the inside. The salsas are light and flavorful. I heard a lot about Mr. G's, specially that they had great being in cheese burritos for $1.99, so I asked them to add eggs which normally cost an extra $.99 when she rang it up she said it was $4.40. I was chalk that she was charging me two dollars for adding some egg to it. I asked her to explain how she did that, she said I charged you for egg burrito and then I added egg and then I added cheese a dollar for each one of those. I went on to explain to her that I did not order egg burrito I ordered a bean and cheese burrito for $1.99+ an egg would be three dollars. It seems that her register and computer is Rick that way so they can charge you more. So I told her forget it just give me being an egg burrito, because it seem too complicated for them. read more

First time eating at Mr G"s. Arrived just before noon on a Saturday. Place recently remodeled. Food was good, had the tamale combo plate. Problem was waiting over 30 minutes for order, excessive time. If you want your food quickly better call in. You are not going to walk in, order, eat and get back to work during your lunchtime allotment. They have a drive thru lane that was not open yet, I can understand why. Who would want to wait in a drive thru lane for 30 minutes after you wait your turn to get up to the order speaker. read more

I was told by multiple people to check this place out when I am in Yuma. I have been twice for work and have been here both times -- once for lunch and once for dinner. I think the reason why you cannot order Breakfast after 1030 is because the burritos are pre-made, i have no clue why a burrito place famous in reviews for Breakfast burritos that competed with jectors decides to cutoff their best items, imagine rolling into McDonald's at 1035 and they tell you, you cannot order mcnuggets. I have been constantly recommended Mr. G's over and over, and many claim the restaurant is the best in town. If Mr. G's is the best that Yuma has to offer, then Yuma seriously has bad food. The food isn't terrible and it is certainly edible, but coming from Los Angeles, Mr. G's would be out of business within 2 years. I've eaten burritos and tacos from taco trucks that tasted better than Mr. G's. I will give Mr. G's credit where it's due, their rolled tacos are excellent. Oh boy, I'm gonna catch hell on this one! Shoes just doesn't like the food here. The machaca has the texture and flavor of canned dog food. The salsa is this runny red liquid with enough seeds to trigger my gag reflex. The service is done ala Soup Nazi; you stand in line and are processed through, step by step. However, the tortillas are fab. The bean and cheese burritos are ok, but it's hard to get that wrong. I just can't get the popularity of this place. good place to stop while on the road if your craving a bean and cheese burrito. it's one of the best things on their menu along with the rolled tacos. i got my bean and cheese burrito with enchilada sauce but it wasn't as good as i had hoped. with my order i got free chips and lots of salsa which was a yummy plus. overall it was a good stop and somewhere i'd stop again for the bean and cheese burrito but i will bring my own hot sauce cause they did not have any to offer. read more

Okay, now the Machaca, is not what you should order from here. If you want to taste real Mr. G's Food, you get either a Bean Rice & Cheese burrito, or rolled tacos. Everything else is a waste of your time. I would also Suggest a Jamaica to drink. The food is great when you order the right thing. You have to eat it with the salsa provided, or you will never know why Mr. G's has been in business for Decades, and still is packed. If you are from out of town, and are passing through Yuma, Mr. G's is my first suggestion. I used to work at a Hotel, and would send people there all the time to an overwhelmingly amazing response. No one that ever ordered the above complained. I would suggest never getting their hamburgers, or their dinner plates. Stick with the Burritos, and you will love it. read more
