Open face Meatloaf sandwich was two end pieces (4 bites) of Meatloaf??? with no flavor and 1 pc of white bread and mashed potatoes , all smothered with 2 cups plus of salty brown gravy. Found Hair in mashed potatoes which killed my apatite. Show it to waitress and she said "lets hope it was from the potato." Worst meal ever!!! Some of the food items are ok, but never order the turkey dinner. It was so dry that it literally broke apart; drier than chalk! The few bites I tried confirmed that the turkey was at least 2-3 weeks old kept in the freezer more than likely. To make matters worse, they grill the turkey to heat it up instead of a more moist method of prepping. The stuffing seems like Stove Top, and the Gravy appeared to be out of a jar. Then, to top it off when I mentioned it to the waitress and showed her, her response was "I can get you more gravy if you want". Excellent Food everything is absolutely AMAZING!! Just ate breakfast there with my husband my son my sister her husband and my nephew. The food was delicious!! We had breakfast. My sister said the seafood omelette was delicious. My husband had the chicken fried steak it was beautiful!! He said it was amazing!! I had the bacon, eggs, home fries, a biscuit came with the meal and I ordered a side of gravy. We all shared a cinnamon roll and I ordered the fresh fruit as well and shared it with my son. My son had the pancake, sausage egg breakfast and he loved the home fries I ordered and his pancakes. The eggs were scrambled to perfection. My nephew had pancakes and he was happy. My brother in law loved his breakfast too although I don't know what he ordered. The meal was amazing and we devoured it but took home what we couldn't finish. It is that good and you'll wanna take it with you. Jaime was our server and I can't say enough nice things about her! She is a FANTASTIC and FABULOUS server. I hope MR DOUG'S knows what they have. Well...I for one will no longer support Mr. Doug's in Yelm. When you order the Doug's Doozie for approx 17.00 and you share with your husband, they charge a 5.00 sharing fee!! they state about sharing and doubling the fun...and the 5.00, HOWEVER...you only get the original serving size, not double the food, not even an egg more, or one more piece of bacon....so the 5.00 must be for the use on the plate and silverware. My 17.00 shared meal with a tip of 4.00, and taxes was about 29.00. Now...I had bariatric surgery, and can barely eat a half slice of French toast, one egg a few hash browns, and a slice of bacon. You cannot order off the kid's menu, so you have to order a meal to throw away. Awesome diner. My family and I just moved to Roy and thought we would go into Yelm to get some dinner. We found this place and went inside, which was pretty busy. We weren't overly surprised by being the only non white patrons but were very pleasantly surprised by how nice and welcoming the staff was. The wait for our food was not insanely long and the service was awesome. Never had an issue with our drinks going empty (which many places seem to have that problem). I ordered the country fried steak which was awesome (though it's hard to really mess this up). My wife got the Southern fried chicken, also amazing (spending 6 years in Arkansas we've missed anything resembling southern food). Both my kids got the "beast mode" burger which comes with a bag of Skittles, they loved it as well. I look forward to trying many more options on their menu in the future! read more

Best chicken fried steak breakfast anywhere around. It seriously didn't taste like a frozen product. The biscuit was perfect.... Not dry at all. The freezer jam they serve is divine as well. We came in for dinner tonight at 630, as usual they were busy and as usual it took ten minutes to be seated. No big deal as I have been here a few times before and that seems to be the norm. They are also on the slow side when it comes to taking orders and bringing out food. However tonight is the last night I come here. It's a diner, most of what they serve isn't fresh (that's a given) so cooking it and serving shouldn't take almost an hour! An hour for diner food ? That's a joke and this place needs to hire a hostess and some bus boys so the waitresses can do their job instead of running around like chicken with their heads cut off. If this business can't handle a Friday night dinner rush maybe they should rethink being a "restaurant". Edit: We received our food. Cheese sticks were burnt and left to sit because they were cool on the outside and just nearly warm on the inside. (They also brought them to the wrong table, before they finally found us) then I got my food I got the meatloaf and it was absolutely disgusting! It was cold in the middle and very obviously had been sitting out for a while. My husbands burger was bland and smothered in mayonnaise to the point it was the only thing you could taste. I asked for gravy on the side and it wasn't and he asked for no tomato and his burger had it. To top it off they gave us our bill and it was the wrong bill . We got a 10% discount but the $2.00 it saved us really didn't make up for how disgusting the food was and how bad the service was. We had lunch here today, our second visit. First time was for breakfast Which was just OK. I had a burger for lunch and fries it was OK. My girlfriend had a open face turkey sandwich and potatoes and gravy. After a couple bites she stopped eating because of the odd flavor. We did not have to pay for it to there credit. The service was poor and our server was preoccupied in another room doing something sitting at table. We will be eating at other restaurants in the future. read more

Hash browns were cold and undercooked In my Hobo breakfast. the biscuits and gravy was also Luke warm and must have been canned gravy but the biscuits were good. Our friend got warm chicken fried steak and undercooked and warm hash browns also. My toast was the best part of my breakfast as was the tomato juice. Doug's is pretty good. They have a fair amount of food for the money. They need to stop using styrofoam for their take out.

You can't beat their breakfast they are fantastic you always have to wait in line so be prepared but they are excellent. And my husband is addicted to their club sandwich on a hoagie roll he can't get enough of he's been waiting and waiting for everything to open up so we can go back up and get some they are wonderful. read more

Wow. What a great local hangout. I stopped in while visiting relatives nearby and was blown away with the service and the food quality. I had an excellent hamburger. The iced tea was strong and good. The star of the show was the amazing house-made potato chips. They are a small upgrade from the French fries, but totally worth it. Maybe the best I've ever had, even over some "artisanal chips" that were a $12 side dish at a $80 per plate steakhouse. Do yourself a favor - order the chips! Exactly what I expected. It's just a diner with solid Americana menu. The waitress was swift and available, it was a Monday morning and not full, but I suspect on weekends it would be which might impact the quality of service and food. I didn't mind the quality of coffee. Normally I drink double pull expressos so drip diner coffee I'll have just as a tool to jazz up my palate. Nothing to brag about or complain about. The waitress seemed like she liked being there. Prices were aligned with the venue and my expectations. Food was plated nicely, swiftly served, and was hot. I got the Mediterranean omelet. And it came exactly as advertised with slightly fluffy egg and just about the right amount of ingredients. I was satisfied and it earned four stars (2 for service and 2 for food nothing for experience) because it was what I expected and what they promoted--although I can't envision what would bump it up to a five star.
