After looking through many reviews online, we decided to go check out Max Heat showroom (Crown Hill area). Max was great. Knowledgeable and patient. He answered all the questions we had and helped guide us in the right direction! He supplied us with a few brochures, and we went on our way. He sent us a few quotes based on the inserts we were looking at in the shop. We landed on the Solas 48. Since we were taking care of the build out ourselves, I had a lot of questions on how to do so correctly. Max was so helpful in helping us with the schematics and how to build the platform for the insert to sit on. We had to build it perfectly so the fireplace window was centered in the facade. We paid a 50% deposit for the insert, and it was ordered. He kept us in the loop on order status, and was able to schedule the install once he had a firm delivery date. The day Max and his wife came out to do the install, it was one of the hottest days of the summer (go figure!) I had the AC cranked up for them so they were comfortable during the install! They did a wonderful job! Very efficient, friendly and professional! They showed me how to work the controls and recommend I run the fireplace for 3 hours to do the burn off. (This didn't happen until fall!) We love our fireplace! It turned out beautifully! (We outsourced slabs of porcelain for the surround.) We highly recommend Max Heat for any fireplace needs! They are amazing at what they do!!

tldr - if it's related to HVAC, call the installer of your HVAC system if possible…read more I called Green Bear to take a look at an HVAC system (on second floor) that was leaking water on the 1st floor ceiling (due to AC condensation). They sent someone over, who didn't really open the HVAC system panel much. I didn't seem confident that this would fix it. But they recommended to fix the drain pan inside the evaporator coil box, which they said was much more expensive. For clearing the drain pipe and gluing a loose pipe, which didn't actually fix the main problem, they still billed me $300 - diagnostic fee ($99) + 1 hour ($199) - (there's a 3% credit card fee, but they accept checks) 4 or 5 hours later, there was dripping again. I ended up calling Bob's, they sent 2 technicians who knew what they were doing (they opened the panel properly), they found and fixed the issue - it did not involve replacing a drain pan. Bob's only charged me the diagnostic fee of $175 and did the job right (compared to $300 that Green Bear charged)

I don't give many 5-star reviews, but Logan absolutely deserves one!…read more I called and explained what was happening with my fireplace. Logan listened, asked a few follow-up questions, and then told me one thing I could try that he thought might solve the problem. I took his advice and it worked! In my opinion, that says a lot about someone and proves he is honest and trustworthy. They showed me how bad it was falling apart to the touch...this got the ball rolling in my head (since i do have some roof leaks from around the chimney maybe) to address the chimney. These guys (again, off the street, no truck or anything) weren't going to be who i hired. So i had 2 companies come inspect & bid (both priced the same) and i went with Ed's. Oscar is the owner, Ed's son, and he's been doing chimneys for his whole life. When the owner is actually doing the work himself (like i do) is always an "im sold" situation for me. He and his assistant were at my place, on time, at a time that worked for me, for 5 hrs/3 days. Oscar explained every detail, answered all my questions, spotted some minor leak related stuff on my roof and fixed it at no extra charge. He is VERY in tune with maintaining high customer satisfaction. He was also conscious of making sure no carbon monoxide would creep into the house. He improved upon that exact situation that a previous heating company handled in an inferior capacity. They left no mess. I'm super happy with the new chimney! i have no doubt if there is any issues in the near future, he will be on top of it.
