The team that installed my new 4-Ton Heat Pump and Air handler did a great job with a difficult installation where the Air Handler is in a finished basement and the Heat Pump had to be carried by hand to a pad on a steep wooded hillside. The installer lead tech Brennan did great sheet metal work adapting the new Air Handler to my existing duct system. There were some issues with how the system parameters were configured but the Greenwood office staff was very responsive and sent out technician the next day to properly configure the system.

I told him that I would choose a company who gave me a fair and honest price because it would be hard to trust someone who would price adjust after the fact. Only then, he showed me over his shoulder on his tablet (not sent in an email with the outlined work) the price of $46,000 for the entire project, and proceeded to ask me how he compared to others I talked to. I was honest and told him that he was the highest quote so far, and that I had received quotes for $20,000 and $32,000 for the same work. He then proceeded to tell me that everything was "apples to apples" and that he could talk to his company to price match, but that I needed to commit to their services immediately. The whole process felt very skeezy, and I will not be reaching out to them for future quotes or projects. I almost didn't write this review, but they have been contacting me non-stop since the quote. I asked him what that meant, he said it was like an air purifier. He was told we would be only paying for the air duct clean and the product itself. He was originally quoted $800 for the cleaning and the air scrubber for a $1600 package deal. We have an Aerus Air Scrubber cut in and installed into our HVAC system. As I walked in the door that night from work, I said, "why does it smell like an ozonator in here?" He asked me what that was. I explained that it was something that sucks the oxygen out of room to remove strong orders quickly. Companies that do Bio-hazard clean-up and restoration commonly use these machines. I am very familiar with this smell, as I have been in property management for 15 years. In fact, I own a small one for vacant homes. Ozone machines can make people very ill. My husband immediately notified Jim, the owner, that my son and I were smelling this odor and were getting headaches and our eyes were watering. It's important to note: we experienced NONE of these symptoms before AirCare USA. Jim claimed that they do not use ozone as they tried that once and he knows its bad. He had no idea what we could be smelling. Maybe it was the "sanitizer" they spray in the machine. He asked us to give it a little while longer. A week passed and still the smell was there and we were even more sick. I got on a step stool and unplugged the machine. When we called to ask them to remove it "100% Customer Guarantee" they pushed us out weeks. The day before the appointment I called Jim and asked how we would be reimbursed. He told me it would be up to Alex and he wasn't sure how much but he would cut us a check. Late that evening I received a text telling me we were not receiving anything back. During the appointment, Alex told my husband we would only see a refund had they been able to get their money back from the company. My husband asked why we should be on the hook for $1600 for something that was making us sick, Alex asked why HE should be on the hook for it. They buy these units in bulk and can't return them. He also said there was nothing in the unit and he has no idea what we would smell. As Alex was leaving my husband had to ask for our piece of equipment back that makes us sick, that they were going to take and not refund us any money.
