After looking through many reviews online, we decided to go check out Max Heat showroom (Crown Hill area). Max was great. Knowledgeable and patient. He answered all the questions we had and helped guide us in the right direction! He supplied us with a few brochures, and we went on our way. He sent us a few quotes based on the inserts we were looking at in the shop. We landed on the Solas 48. Since we were taking care of the build out ourselves, I had a lot of questions on how to do so correctly. Max was so helpful in helping us with the schematics and how to build the platform for the insert to sit on. We had to build it perfectly so the fireplace window was centered in the facade. We paid a 50% deposit for the insert, and it was ordered. He kept us in the loop on order status, and was able to schedule the install once he had a firm delivery date. The day Max and his wife came out to do the install, it was one of the hottest days of the summer (go figure!) I had the AC cranked up for them so they were comfortable during the install! They did a wonderful job! Very efficient, friendly and professional! They showed me how to work the controls and recommend I run the fireplace for 3 hours to do the burn off. (This didn't happen until fall!) We love our fireplace! It turned out beautifully! (We outsourced slabs of porcelain for the surround.) We highly recommend Max Heat for any fireplace needs! tldr - if it's related to HVAC, call the installer of your HVAC system if possible…read more I called Green Bear to take a look at an HVAC system (on second floor) that was leaking water on the 1st floor ceiling (due to AC condensation). They sent someone over, who didn't really open the HVAC system panel much. I didn't seem confident that this would fix it. But they recommended to fix the drain pan inside the evaporator coil box, which they said was much more expensive. For clearing the drain pipe and gluing a loose pipe, which didn't actually fix the main problem, they still billed me $300 - diagnostic fee ($99) + 1 hour ($199) - (there's a 3% credit card fee, but they accept checks) 4 or 5 hours later, there was dripping again. I ended up calling Bob's, they sent 2 technicians who knew what they were doing (they opened the panel properly), they found and fixed the issue - it did not involve replacing a drain pan. Bob's only charged me the diagnostic fee of $175 and did the job right (compared to $300 that Green Bear charged)

Andrew's team did an amazing job on my 88 year old house. The 9' and 10' original lintels over the…read morefront window and garage door were badly rusted. The brick wall had developed significant cracks zigzagging through the mortar. The replacement process was quite involved as 1 or more feet of the wall above the lintels had to be removed. When they came out one of the lintels had rusted to the point that it could be bent by hand while the other had holes. Over about 3 days they replaced them and put back the original bricks. Now I can't tell that anything was ever wrong with the wall. The new mortar is a perfect match for the original. I have recommend Brick by Brick to a couple of other neighbors. And I'll be calling them back for other window and repointing with in the future.
