After months of watching the reconstruction of this place, I've enlisted two besties to find out if they're better than the Fast Teddies they replaced. And while in terms of speed, they are not, the food is exceedingly so. We arrived Saturday around 5 to find it moderately filled, with our choice of seating. I went for the booths, as they are what feels like double the size of your average restaurant seating (my bustier friend actually spoke up about how for once she didn't feel smushed) and jokingly picked one labeled 13. We were given printed menus that looked oddly worn for being a new place, with much selection to choose from. The waiter gave us 20 minutes to select options, the hum of the AC apparent by the lack of music. It took another long while to get our food, which we chalked up to being made to order and the newness of it all. We flipped the 13 in our table marker upside down to see if it conjured better luck and received a smoothie and four plates of food, not at the same time. The smoothie was made with real berries served in a 'sexy' glass with a wide straw. It came shortly before the calamari, which had a crispy coating and chew, like a seafood tot, served with sweet chili sauce. We all enjoyed it as we waited for the mains. My tuna poke came first, raw and with a kick. I was grateful for my water refill as I let the soft tuna and fresh creamy avocado fill my mouth. The sushi rice clumped wonderfully under the sprinkled crunch of seeds. Chicken yakisoba arrived next, despite my pal ordering shrimp scallop. She agreed to eat it if the bill was adjusted to the correct price, and found it flavorful without being spicy, fantastically tender and not skimped on. The bountiful pork Chinese fried rice arrived last, with a pleasurable mix. All plates were cleared, though to go boxes are offered if necessary. We did have a long wait for the bill only to open an empty book. They remedied it at the register while we swapped money and used the loo. (No lock on that door surprisingly.) The food is amazing. The service not so much, but they've got hopefully plenty of time to grow, as the food itself has us bowled over.

I like duck, especially at Chinese/Asian restaurants. But very few of them around WNY have it nowadays. A small number used to have my favorite, Wor Shu Op (fried boneless duck), but almost all of those have gone out of business or stopped making it. So I'll settle for roast duck. Sun Garden in Getzville has one that's pretty good. And then, because I subscribe to Andrew Galarneau's newsletter (only a dollar a week and well worth it), I learned of Mr. Bowl in North Tonawanda. Andrew wrote about it on Sunday and it looked so good that I went this Friday, just five days later. Beware, the duck dish is not shown on their website. When I called to make sure they have it they said they don't always have it so that's why they don't list it but they did that night. But yet it appears on the written menu at the restaurant and on the printed takeout menu too. So I guess they could run out but generally have it. I went on a day my wife was out of town so all I got was that one dish of roasted duck which comes with a couple of pieces of cooked broccoli and a bowl of steamed white rice. It was delicious. Beautiful crispy skin and moist, tender meat. I took a little less than half home. The restaurant itself is very nice and service was very attentive and good. The only minor glitch was when I asked for more hoisin sauce to go with my leftovers they brought me a small condiment container but it was filled maybe only 1/10 high. However, when I asked for more they gladly gave me a full little container so that I can enjoy the leftovers. I also saw dishes going to other tables that all looked very good. Portions are generous and prices are reasonable. There's parking on both sides of the restaurant and on the street. Another thing to know about the online menu is that the prices there are higher than on the actual menu because it's a DoorDash menu.

Nice new clean place with varied menu. Had Chasu Ramen which was very good. Food came out slow but to be expected with new place. Good value for $ but give edge to Sato Ramen

This place was amazing. The food was phenomenal. Sushi was fresh, might be the best ramen bowl I have ever had in my life. Mochi ice cream was also delicious. Friendly/kind staff, food came out quick. The ambiance is calm, clean, and minimal decorations which I prefer. Pricing was also very reasonable for the excellent value. We will be back for sure! Go check it out!

The cashier was a little gruff, but the woman running back and forth between the kitchen and the front had a better business sense about keeping customers happy. She didn't want me to wait long, so I think she rushed the kitchen a little bit, which I appreciated, but also may have led to some of the demerits on the food I mention below. I was happy to see one dish I ordered, the pig intestine with fish, on their picture board above the cash registers. That gave me confidence that they knew what they were doing and it was the best dish by far out of the three I ordered. The intestine was fresh and flavorful, the spice level was high, but also not too salty. It was a lot of food. Only drawback here was the fish (tilapia?) seemed to be heavy on the breading. The other two dishes were disappointing. Penang curry with pork had good vegetables, but the sauce had too little flavor since they went too heavy on the coconut milk. The pork seemed like chicken, not pork. Way too soft and flavorless. The Singapore Chow Mei Fun had good noodles and veggies. But the curry powder was not blended in. Eating it, I could still feel it in powder form. It was also far too oily. Overall, I think they had a lot of options but next time I'd steer more towards classic Chinese, since that seems to be what they do well. I hope next time the flavors will be stronger and blended better (i.e. powders actually stirred in). I'm willing to give them another chance, since they do have a lot of dishes I like. Last note: the online ordering service does not indicate that dishes come with rice. I thought they would have rice by default, but then when I added the penang curry to my cart, it asked whether I wanted rice or noodles or something else. So that made me think I had to order rice separately, which meant I had twice as much rice as I needed. It also said "quart of white rice" was sold out, but "pint of white rice" was not, yet the rice that came with my meal came in a quart container.

It has a very, very small parking lot, which is pretty inconvenient. I had to park all the way down the street. We approached the restaurant and it looks so cute from outside with that big lucky cat. I don't know the names of these things so don't laugh at me, lol. We get inside. It's quite small inside. Also, they have a big cage that people can sit in only one though, and I wanted to sit in there, but it was already occupied by a family. The decorations are cute, but they don't have very many at least not on the side that we sat. We sat to the right when you walk in the door. The menus look like you're opening up a humongous encyclopedia or an almanac but there aren't that many pages in there so don't let it fool you. They have lots of different types of sushi, Japanese food, Chinese food, etc. My son got a salmon roll and a caterpillar which he said was amazing. I got General Tzo's chicken , which was much better than any Chinese place I've ever had it from. This was the real deal. But first I had pork eggroll and it was so good. They served it cut in half with duck sauce all over it and it was so good that way I loved it. Then I ordered a nice size bowl of pork lo mein. That was the best lo mein I have ever had in my life. It was absolutely delicious. My son tried some the next day and said that that was the best lo mein he's ever had. The employees were nice. Took a while for our food to come, but that was OK. We weren't in a rush. I ordered a Diet Coke and it seems that all Japanese and Chinese places that I go to lately they only give you cans of pop which seems weird to me, but whatever ! And this seems like a higher end type restaurant too. It's not a cheap little restaurant. This is a pretty pricey place, but like I said, it is delicious. I highly recommend going there and eating. Hopefully, you'll be as satisfied as my son and I were.

Needed more sushi vinegar. If the ingredients are measured out, which they said it was when I pointed it out, then this should never have be an issue. -Garnish, specifically the lettuce on the sushi plate was old, mushy, and unappealing. They should have left it off the plate if that was all they had left. Sushi is about presentation more so than most food and this was not done well. -Miso soup. This was not traditional miso soup. I know there are miso soup with daikon as an add on, but there's usually wakame in it. There was no enoki mushroom either like it says on their menu. The ones I uses to make, and all the sushi restaurants I've been to were the traditional tofu, wakame and diced green onions. Have that as a first option since more widely known, and make the daikon as a second option. Also, miso broth was bland. Needed more bonito flakes. Equipment - you guys need to periodically check your tables and chairs for damage. When I grabbed my chair by the seat to scoot myself closer to the table the seat came off. Need to balance out the portions of ingredients in your rolls. California roll needed more imitation crab. There was too much cucumber and avocado. You guys need to focus more on quality and presentation instead of having a ton of different roll on your menu. When you are pricing your sushi like a mid-high end restaurant, the quality and presentation needs to match. I read the reviews on this place and thought all the kinks would have been worked out by now, but it seems not. We didn't try out the other non-sushi dishes they had on their menu, so we have no opinions on them. I am one of the few who will not be coming here again for sushi.

There were two other tables occupied during my visit, but several people came in and ordered take out, and some were picking up online orders. One of the booths had a young couple, unseen until my way out. The sides of the booths are quite high, affording privacy, yet open on top for an airy atmosphere. In addition to central tables, there are tables opposite the booths. And a single large table with chairs near the counter, where people who come in and order to-go can wait. The wait is not long. From my ordering to being served was maybe 12 to 15 minutes. The menu is varied and extensive enough, which struck me as a pleasant relief from the often overwhelming pages and pages of Chinese restaurant menus.
