Tasteful but pricey cakes. Price of everything has been raised so high!!!
Siera M.

I've always liked their pastries but now, I have to double think before I make a purchase because of the price. I hope they offer some kind of specials or promotion, or just lower the price. Otherwise, they will loose their local audience!

Mozart Rainbow Cake

We have been getting birthday and celebration cakes from Mozart for the past two years and I absolutely adore them. Mozart's rainbow cake has perfectly fluffy icing and each individual sponge has such a good texture. Always excited to get to have a cake from Mozart! We just cut into my birthday cake from them!

Rose Milk Tea (supposedly)

Been coming here for a while, and always have a good experience. The staff are friendly and the baked goods are delicious. The gal that helped me wore a mask and gloves, and there was a plastic divider up to keep things contactless. I always enjoy seeing this. I ordered a Rose Milk Tea, which they advertised on their door as their newest milk tea flavor. I'm not shre what she gave me, but it didn't taste of rose. It tasted like a lot of sugar and milk tea. I personally like a strong rose flavor, but I couldn't even taste it in this milk tea. I was a little disappointed, but everything else that I usually get here is great! I love their garlic bread bites that are in the pre-packaged baked goods! They're sweet and garlicy and delicious. I also love their Milk Snow. Its so sweet and the red bean and peanuts are delicious with it! I'll always come back and keep munching on all the goodies they have to offer here!

The chocolate birthday cake was a bit dry. They do not offer price reductions on their selections purchased close to closing. There does seem to be a lot of various baked goods that did taste good. Will come back to try other offerings and a different type of cake, hopefully one that is not so dry.

Love love love the cake ... will order again.

We ordered our son's birthday cake from here, it wasn't anything fancy or dramatic but tasted AMAZING... I can't emphasize enough how good it was ... thanks Mozart for making our day spl

Green tea boba - half sweet. Note that it comes frozen. I'm not sure if you can order it shaken, not frozen. :)
Shannah H.

I've driven past Mozart Cafe for years but never really had incentive to stop in. That changed recently after tons of Facebook posts by friends extolling the good environment for reading, coffee and a pastry, plus my new-found love of trying boba tea. I stopped in for the latter on a warm spring day. I'd read that their boba menu was simple to read (a plus for this newbie) which made me feel brave enough to try a classic green tea boba. I ordered it half-sweet - a good move, because it was still very sweet. Next time I might even go to 1/4 sweet to keep it from being overwhelming. What was a surprise was that the drink came frozen. I've only had shaken boba, not a frozen-smoothie version. it wasn't unpleasant, but it wasn't quite what I'd had in mind for the day. I think I needed it to be a warmer day to want a frozen drink. Anyway, live and learn. Would I go back? Probably. The store is certainly comfortable looking inside and appears to be a great place to meet up with friends for an afternoon of chatting or a book club meeting.

I really wanted to love this place as it is so close to my home, but after repeated episodes of terrible service, I won't go back.

Not as large as the one next to H-Mart but the workers here seem more friendly and less snooty.

Loved the macaron ice cream sandwich! My sister and I had the coffee ice-cream with a chocolate macaron shell. Unique and tasty.

An absolute gem in Richardson -- we'll definitely be back!…read more La Casita Bakeshop completely exceeded our expectations. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was warm and welcoming, and our server Diana made the whole experience. She was knowledgeable, genuinely enthusiastic about the menu, and so pleasant to talk to -- exactly the kind of hospitality that turns a good meal into a great one. The food itself was outstanding. We ordered the French Toast and the Birria Brisket Croque Madame, and both were incredible -- beautifully presented and packed with flavor. The Croque Madame especially blew us away; it's the kind of dish you think about after you leave. The side hash rounded it all out perfectly. And then there are the pastries. We grabbed the Mango Sticky Rice Cream Puff and the Amaretto Cherry Basque Cheesecake Brownie from the Weekend Selections -- both were stunning, not just visually but in flavor. The cheesecake brownie topped with those cherry meringues looked almost too good to eat. Almost. Washed everything down with the Salted Honey Matcha and it was the perfect companion to the whole spread. Honestly, the hardest part was choosing -- the menu is so creative and well thought-out that we already have a list of things we want to try next time. And there will be a next time. La Casita has earned a regular customer. Highly, highly recommend.

I especially loved the horchata cold brew, though the vanilla cold foam cold brew didn't wow me as much. Our drinks did take a little while because our ticket seemed to get lost, but once we mentioned it to the staff, they were super kind and quick to fix it. Things happen, and their great customer service honestly made up for it. I'm already excited to come back and try more items -- their pastries have such unique and creative flavors. Definitely give this place a try!

I always get a little envious of how every suburb of Dallas seems to have such a cool town square,…read moreand Plano is no different. Located among the shops and bars of historic downtown sits 1418 Coffee, a cute and genuinely great little shop that fits the area perfectly. Inside, the shop is fairly narrow but offers a good amount of both indoor and outdoor seating. I arrived with a friend a little before 11 am on a Sunday, and it was absolutely packed. A biking group was posted up outside, students were inside working on homework, even though most colleges have not started yet, and plenty of other patrons were taking their Sunday mornings easy. Despite having at least 10 to 15 people in front of us, the line moved pretty quickly. My friend who was more of a regular at the shop knew a lot of the staff and had convos with them. It feels like a little community! I ordered the Maple Sausage Croissant sourced from Sugar Loaf Bakery along with a hot Purple Haze latte made with lavender and vanilla syrup. My drink came out fairly quickly, and I thought it was great. It was well balanced and not overly sweet. As for the Maple Sausage Croissant, it was exactly what it sounded like, a maple sausage tucked into a croissant. I initially expected the croissant itself to be maple flavored, similar to a McGriddle, but it was still fresh and enjoyable. They had been keeping them warm in a heater throughout the morning, which definitely helped. I have stopped by 1418 Coffee a few times when visiting Dallas, and I plan to keep returning. They consistently do a great job and fit right into the charm of downtown Plano. RIYL: A warm haven in a beautiful downtown.

The baristas are all super friendly and were happy to answer all my questions. It's also super cozy with dim lighting, and the music isn't super overpowering or loud. There's mostly comfy couches but also a few tables and high top seating. Just a little chilly, so I'd recommend bringing a jacket. I was able to comfortably complete some work on my laptop, with working wifi. There were also people here socializing in the morning. They no longer serve breakfast tacos, so I opted for a bacon cheddar scone at one visit and a lemon blueberry scone on another. They were both delicious! The baristas told me that their chai leans toward the sweeter side versus the spicier side, so I opted for an iced sugar-free vanilla latte, which was not overly sweet. I also tried the beez neez (latte with honey and cinammon) another time and enjoyed it! They offer 2% milk, which I don't always find at coffee shops. Since it's in downtown Plano, there's street parking, which wasn't difficult for me since I came at 8 AM. I believe there are parking garages located nearby. Overall, I've greatly enjoyed 1418 Coffee and will most definitely be visiting more throughout this month while I'm working in the area!

The typical bakeries in this area (Plano, Frisco, McKinney, Allen etc) are often chains, and focus on soft breads such as donuts and cakes, with the token boring croissant, and the Asian bakeries (also chains) offer a completely different style of breads, so to finally come across a place with innovative crisp laminated pastries is a treat! Note - they do not sell breads. I visited on a Friday morning around 8am and although there were only two people ahead of me in line, they were already out of almond croissants and I took the last sausage roll on display (but the bakers were probably baking more). There was a continuous flow of people in and out. The location is definitely set up to be a to-go place and NOT somewhere you come to sit and eat. No ambiance. No need to bring the friends and family, just send someone to buy a box of treats and enjoy at home. Being in a strip-mall complex, parking is easy.
