Was directed here as while asking for advice on good fried chicken in Hong Kong. And I was actually looking for American/southern fried chicken - Korean Fried chicken to me was all the same. But Moyo turned those tables around.
This place is smallish and is upbeat enough for a small group of friends or a casual date. The music is loud enough to make you not feel awkward during silences too (keep that in mind you Tinder daters).
But the food, oh the food. Korean-Italian? Never heard of this combo before, but it was so fat and comforting, I started with the Kimchi Disco Fries (HKD 88), these were solid fries that with a heaping of cream cheese and spicier-than-average kimchi, decent starter that whet my appetite for the Cacio e Pepe Rice Cake (HKD 148), which was an amazing dish of creamy cheese with soft but chewy rice cakes swimming inside. Chopped walnuts provided a welcome crunch and contrasting texture to the rice cakes. It was like an Asian Mac n Cheese. Seriously awesome. The fried chicken came last, I ordered half portion (HKD 108) and it was well worth the wait, it wasn't the usual Korean fried chicken where they coat the fowl in sauce - all the sauces were put aside for dipping instead, so if you are like me and prefer sauceless chicken you will like this. The chicken itself was succulent, the batter was beautifully light, crispy and reminded me of corn flake batter. Also, I forgot to take a photo of the evidence, but there was almost no grease on the plate after I finished. It took away so much guilt from me - did they use an air-fryer or something?!
So I came here for the fried chicken, and was completely satisfied with it. It is definitely in my Top 3 list (at the moment of writing, the other two are Jolibee's Chicken Joy and the Diner's buttermilk fried chicken), pretty surprised that all the other dishes I tried hit the spot so well too! I will be back Moyo, and not just when I want fried chicken! read more
