I regret coming here on Monday, thanksgiving night. People were incredibly loud, the service was terrible, food was terrible. I ordered 2 burgers and a Thai chicken salad and it took them one hour to serve and the meat on those burgers were terrible, we couldn't even chew it. The only good thing that happened was being able to move to a quiet area because it was a disaster. The waitress also messed up the order. I ordered a burger, it was ready quickly to my surprise. While eating, I found out why, it was pink raw meat in the middle. I just stopped eating it. Ordered takeout on a week day. Took 40 min to get my order after inquiring about it at the 30 min marker. Got back to my room a 3 min walk and opened the bag up to find burned cheese, nachos and beef. Not only did the food look bad but tasted like it looked. This place was a major let down. Service was ok, but other then that .... I ordered a Bellini to start. My gf had tea. I had to send the Bellini back, it had no taste to it and it wasn't blended smoothly, instead it had big crunchy ice pieces, and I hate that. At first, the server offered to add an oz of rum to it, but then came back and said she would have to charge me 6.50 for it ( more then what the cost of the drink was in the first place ) I didn't want to pay 12$ for a chunky ice drink that lacked any flavour, so I declined. Then, the lettuce wraps with add on chicken I had ordered were also awful. They had a weird taste. Again, I had to send it back also. I felt bad, but I wasn't going to be able to eat it, so when she asked how it was, I told her. She asked what I wanted instead, so I ordered a Greek pita with chicken (to go) I only had a few bites of it, but whatever was in it gave me severe tummy issues that had me in the bathroom for most of the night, up until the next afternoon. Needless to say, I did not finish what was left over. I don't know if this was an off night, or if the cook was slacking, or if this location just straight up serves bad food. It's too bad, normally the only complaint I have had towards any Moxies was the poor service. This one the service was good but food terrible. I stayed at the Sandman hotel that's attached to the restaurant for a business trip in September. Room service is provided by Moxies. In 2 days I dined with them 3x since I was jammed for time. First night I had the steak salad for room service. It was pretty good. Well cooked and seasoned steak with good amounts of goat cheese. Next morning I had a breakfast meeting at the restaurant. There was maybe another 4 people in there. Not busy at all. I was waiting awhile for my guests to arrive so I started with coffee. When my guests arrived, it was a good 20 minutes before our server came to see us. I even tried to wave her down (not really nice to do in front of clients). She saw me and then looked down at her book. What??? And then when I tried to catch her again, she finally acknowledged and mouthed I'm busy but be there soon. What in the world are you so busy with on a Wednesday morning and under 10 people in the plce that you can't come take our order? I was not pleased After a couple meetings, my coworker and I decided to get take out from Moxies (I really didn't want to) so we could hit the road. They were hesitant in accommodating. Either just say yes or no. If no, we will go elsewhere. Anyways she agreed. We ordered and got our food. The hostess didn't seem like she wanted to do any of this. Not in the spirit of excellence. Ceasar arrived with no garnish (lime or pickled veg), when I asked they said they were out. I asked for olives, I was done my ceasar by the time the olives showed up. The olives were stale. Food came and it was cold and the nachos were burnt. Restaurant was empty so no excuse for poor service. Waitress forgot our drink order. We went to this Moxie's on a quiet Sunday for breakfast after Hello Toast was crowded with a long wait. The service from our waitress was excellent. She recommended a drink she makes well and offered options to improve on it with extra juice. The eggs benedict was really excellent. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the hollandaise was obviously made in-house. The hash browns were a highlight of everyone's dish, crispy and well seasoned. The atmosphere was the typical contemporary setting you expect at Moxie's. The only mark against our visit was a staff member, who seemed like kitchen staff, chose to sit beside us during what I assume is his break. He was in rough looking shape and I found it strange seeing we were one of three groups in that morning and there was literally a restaurant full of places to sit. Didn't wait long at all to be seated and sat over in the "family friendly" side, which we don't usually do, but they were the only booths available. Their menu advertises local beer which apparently means Vancouver? Husband as not overly impressed with that. Then when I got my drink (Rose Sangria and one of their in house hard lemonades) there was so much ice! I was 5 sips and done... Our meals were OK. Nothing to write home about. He had a burger and I had a prawn linguine. The dessert however was pretty fantastic. We had the sampler which came with a two bite taster of the white chocolate brownie, toffee pudding and cheese cake. Amazing. Our server was really great and super friendly. All in all, it was a nice visit but for the price ($92.00 later), it's not some place that we're going to head back to any time soon. read more

We showed up to Moxie's abruptly while we wee in town and when I mean we, I mean all 13 of us including 6 kids. We were totally expecting to be turned down since we had no reservations. To our delightful surprise, the staff at the restaurant was totally open to accommodating us. Polite, professional and accommodating. All of us truly appreciated it. Now to the food and drink. The amber beer that we got was phenomenally refreshing. Ordered a pitcher only to end up ordering yet another. The chicken wings were amazing. When we say amazing, it needs to be taken seriously because we are used to ordering wings everywhere we go. Balanced, flavorful and well presented. I could go on with similar comments on other food, but they'd be redundant. They were all very good. I love to cook and my father actually is a renowned chef from his time. We are very picky with our food. This place was downright amazing. A very very very special thank you to Alex, Andrew and Chris for being so gracious to us. They were beyond amazing. My drink and food were good but the service was honestly awful.. there was two of us at the table and the server only acknowledged one of us at a time and would walk away before the second person even got chance to speak. Visited this place with my gf around 17.00 on Wednesday. The reason why I am being so precise with this is because we waited 10 minutes to get seated which is unusual for this time of the day :(. The food was good, however several things went pretty bad. I ordered a "loaded burger" and the mushrooms in it wasn't properly cleaned (could taste sand or dirt on some of them). The waitress brought the burger without any fries, therefore, we waited the fries for another 8 minutes after which the burger was cold. The burger itself was very tasty with a lot of mushrooms and crispy bacon strips. The meat in the burger was excellent, as well as, the pasta that ordered my gf. We just had a great supper at the bar served by the bartender Jeremy. What a friendly, open and knowledgeable guy! In addition to a great local draft and equally good local wine (See Ya Later Ranch) we had the nacho platter. You need to know that we are visiting from Tucson Arizona and those were about the best nachos I've ever had. Really good! The micro slices of fresh jalapeños were a really nice touch. She insisted we upsize our order even though I indicated I was not hungry, the "white" wine was warm (although put into a cooler with a small amount of ice) and at 8:30pm asked if we were off to bed!! Really wanted to have a good experience here but it was honestly kind of horrible. Waited 15 minutes in our booth without being greeted so I went and politely asked the hostess to remind our server that we were there. Then this girl comes over and is honestly borderline rude, completely dismissive and short with us. Our drinks took at least 10 or 15 minutes (couple beers and a margarita). Sat with our drinks empty for another 15 minutes before someone even walked by so we could ask for the bill... Then literally sat and wAited AGAIN to try and pay. My favorite eggs Benedict so far in Kamloops!! The hollandaise was amazing, and j love their choice of using prosciutto instead of the traditional ham. The food is a little more spendy, but the quality is great. Knocked off a star because the portions are kind of ridiculously small for the price. Customer service is great! read more

Had lunch at this new place . The fish tacos were great . I also tried the sushi but this was the farthest thing from sushi that I had ever had . It was cooked fish wrapped in rice and rice paper . Ordered a steak and they could not find a steak knife ????? The 20 minutes it took to eat my dinner they were not able to find one. Had to tear apart with a butter knife.
