I cannot say enough great things about Edgar Jimenez and his colleague Ramon from Roadway Moving!…read moreThey provided an absolutely outstanding pickup experience from start to finish. They were incredibly professional, careful, efficient, and clearly took a lot of pride in their work. What really stood out to me was the attention to detail when packing and protecting our belongings. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was packed extremely well, with all the corners properly covered and protected. They handled some of our largest and most important furniture--including our king-size bed, mattress, refrigerator, dresser, and other furniture--with an incredible amount of care. Nothing felt rushed or careless. They took the time to make sure everything was properly wrapped, protected, and secured before loading it. Edgar and Ramon were genuinely exceptional. Moving can be stressful, but having a team that you can completely trust with your belongings makes such a huge difference. Their professionalism, care, and attention to detail gave us tremendous peace of mind. I would 100% recommend Edgar, Ramon, and Roadway Moving to anyone looking for a moving company. If you have the opportunity to have Edgar and Ramon handle your move, you're in great hands! Huge thank you to Edgar and Ramon for taking such great care of our belongings and making the pickup process so smooth. Five stars without hesitation!

After talking to them, I knew I wanted to go with them. Their customer service, attention to details, and organization are 5-star levels. One thing that really stood out to me was that instead of asking me how many boxes I need, they asked me to send them pics of my place and stuff, and they calculated the number of small, medium and large boxes I need. It's so easy to underestimate and get a different price at the end. Also, I know I wanted packers because its speeds up the entire process of moving and settling in. I'm so glad I did with Roadway. It usually takes me over half a week to pack and be stressed for over a week, but Diego and his 3 teammates packed up our studio in 2-3 hours. They're so professional. They moved so quickly with care and accuracy. Most importantly, all my kitchen appliances were wrapped with care and delivered and arrived to my new apartment in the same condition. It took us about 2 hrs to settle in, and they once again unpacked most of the furnitures and reassembled them, making me feel settled in and relaxed. I cannot thank their team enough. They're all so polite, friendly and efficient. Within 1 day, I already feel 95% settled in. It's the easiest, stress-free moving experience I had in a while!

We will absolutely use them again, and we will be recommending them to everyone we know. Olga was super communicative, and she made the process so smooth and stress-free. She was always extremely responsive. Every question we asked was answered quickly and every email we received felt very reassuring. We haven't moved in a while and we had a lot of worries about moving to NY and hiring movers. But we could tell how competent they were even over email. For example, we realized the night before the move that we have a sunken in living room we did not mention before. We thought surely that will be an extra charge (and other movers might be very upset with us for not mentioning it!). We frantically emailed that they may want to bring a ramp or something. Olga responded, that is no problem. A lot of other companies also wanted an inventory of everything ahead of time, which we definitely didn't have. Olga said we could guesstimate and update her if anything changed. This was a lifesaver. When we updated along the way, she never seemed concerned that what we were adding was too much. We have friends who have used other moving companies, and they told us actual horror stories (e.g., movers not showing up, a million extra charges, needing every box to be accounted for before the move, things breaking, etc.). So when we were looking for movers, we were trying to avoid all of that. We decided to go with NY nomads because they were a small family business. Many of the big companies seem to be hit or miss - some people have okay experiences and some have really bad ones. There's a reason NY nomads have so many great reviews. They're kind, consistent, and professional. Djordje was friendly, great to talk to, and clearly very knowledgeable about moving and NYC. I was impressed with how quickly and efficiently they moved everything into the truck, and I was even more impressed with how they were able to park the truck right in front of our apartment. You can tell they have a lot of experience. If you're moving to NYC or moving within NYC, I would absolutely recommend NY nomads. You won't regret it. Worth every penny.

Based on my estimates of the time the job would take, they were much cheaper than any of the 5 other companies we got quotes from. In the end though, the job did take longer than expected. They used three employees and a large truck. They provided blankets, plastic wrap, and tape to properly protect all items for transport. If they noticed any preexisting damage on the furniture, they notified us promptly so we were aware. Initially, they worked quite efficiently, but began to slow down during the second half of pick-up. What I thought would take about 4 hours ended up being a 6 hour job, including a 45 minute drive to the new place. They still came in cheaper than the next best quote we were considering, but not by much. When they finished the move, they left a mountain of tape, plastic, and cardboard, which they supplied, in our hallway. We thought they would clean it up before leaving, but we were left with that task, which was disappointing. They require a $50 + tax deposit to reserve a move. You pay the balance after all the work is done. They offer a discount if you pay in cash. Overall, they were professional and moving is grueling work so I have no major complaints, other than the debris they left behind. But be mindful that the time-based quote may add up, so be prepared to spend more than you might anticipate.
