This company is on several sites promoting Moving (2+ man crew) work and actively making appointments with customers; however, they do not keep any appointments, nor do they show up or communicate with the customer. Instead they completely removed the profile from the portal and while leaving the customer in suspense. Thankfully the internet will has a way of finding horrible businesses. Thankful that they have an active profile on Yelp that I can blast the horrible experience I've had the displeasure to encounter. This owner of the company lacks professionalism. Scheduled a move at 1pm on a Sunday. I called at 12:55pm Sunday afternoon to get an idea of when someone would show up. They called me back to say that they were overbooked and would not be able to assist me. I received zero notice, spent my weekend packing to ensure the move would go well, and disconnected everything in my home only to have them cancel on me at the time of the move after *I* called them. They knew they couldn't help me, and still made no effort to reach out and give me notice. They did not offer anything to compensate for their mistake, and simply said "it happens". I had an appointment set to move at 8 am on Sunday September 30. I scheduled the appointment two weeks ahead and paid a deposit. I called at 8:15 am on the scheduled day and the guy said the driver decided not to work today. When I scheduled the appointment the owner said he and two guys would help on the move. The driver went to a Raider's game instead and the other mover doesn't work without the driver (I'm noticing the driver is mentioned as a problem in multiple reviews; I hope it's not the same guy). I booked the moving reservation on Jun 7 to move out on Jun 15, one week in advance in case I couldn't move out before my apartment lease ends. They confirmed the time, sent out an email with an reservation link, I confirmed. On Jun 15, the scheduled moving time was 2:30-5:30 pm. They didn't show up so I contacted the person on Thumbtack, that guy said "Call Donnie", I called. Donnie said: it wasn't on his calendar, you should contact someone else. I actually didn't expect they are such unprofessional. Then I came back to Thumbtack, the person logging in Thumbtack told me to find another moving company or wait until 5:00 pm and no truck, only pickup available. A pickup was not sufficient for my move. No excuse. They just didn't want to keep their promise. I already packed all my stuff in advance to help moving more smooth. My time is valuable. During the booking process I asked for insurance and license. Representative told me that this is confidential information and I need to book with him first to see certificates. Than I asked for Not to Exceed Estimate and he told me $700. Than I checked DOT (Department of Transportation) Number and it has inactive status (screenshot attached). Which means that company can not operate on their trucks legally. I told about this issue to representative. On what he replied that now if I want to hire this company my Not to Exceed is $1000, which $300 more right away. After all this he just stop replying to my messages. And never sent me any insurance or license info. One more time! I never hire this company. I just tried to book with them. It is up to you reader, to use them or not. My sister in law hired this company. She was promised 2 helpers and only 1 person showed up. Didn't finish the job and left the stuff in the middle of the hallway. This company has has changed ownership i believe, the owner still says he's Drew but it doesn't appear to be owned by the same person. Save yourself the time and headache. They're tempting because they'll quote you a good flat fee and promise you that everything will be moved and in it's place. I have moved four times both in state and out of state and my 5 block move was a complete nightmare. They left items at my old home, didn't move items into the home and left them in the garage after saying they'd be moved into the home, left trash from multiple uber eats, left trash at my old home (i.e., a box, wood piece from someone elses furniture) he hired random help off Craigslist that actually did most of the work I gave that guy a tip), was not easy to communicate with, I could go on and on. The move was hardwork, but that's the point of hiring movers, I don't go to work and say nope I can't work anymore because it's too hard. If you do hire them just use them as transport and hire a couple other folks or bring friends if you want everything to get moved into your house. Don't trust the quote they give you online that's just to start the job, make him do a site visit and give you an actual quote. I learned an expensive lesson about going cheap, I now have to hire another crew to get all my items upstairs from the garage and various items left; I should have just went with more expensive well know companies as I've done in the past. read more

They broke 4 of my glasses and around 8 plates. on top of that they broke a table glass and never mentioned it to us. the next day we were looking for our table glass and realized its no where to be found. when we called the manager he told us he is trying to reach his team but he never let us know. we called the driver and driver mentioned that the glass broke and they didnt want to upset us so they didnt tell us. then the manager called us and told us you guys left a bad review and he asked us to remove it and when we said we didnt post anything online he started yelling over the phone. I hired Moving Help after a different company bailed on me last minute, and was very pleased with the service I received from Drew. He arrived on time, and was committed to an efficient move while also caring for my belongings. We had a very tricky time getting my couch out of a small doorway, but happy to report we safely got it out due to Drew's steadfastness and care. He was even willing to throw down his own blankets in muddy puddles of water (not an ideal move day) to protect the couch. Moving took much longer than other companies we have used-twice the time, if not more. Cloth furniture not wrapped (now getting dirty in storage)..On top of that, a pile we set aside for the temp. rental-which we made clear-was packed into the back of our storage unit that they took our stuff to. We had to go back he next day, unpack the storage completely that they packed and find the boxes and clothes that we didnt have and needed from that pile. They had packed it into the back of the storage, the VERY back. Bad luck for us. Then pack the storage back up (we did a better job repacking it so it would fit than the movers?).... (My child had one outfit, so we basically HAD to do this). On top of that my wife is pregnant and had to do all this work of finding the boxes and clothes while chasing a toddler. On top of that, Im confused why one guy was just standing around more than half the time....(probably why it took twice the time we paid for initially). I know this because multiple times I saw he was just standing around, sitting in the car, etc. We will pay our bill for the extra hours but wont be re-hiring them once we find permanent housing in a few months. This review is specifically for Moving Help Bay Area's customer service. I put an ad on Craigslist looking for assistance with gym equipment moving and assembly. Drew was one of the first people to respond. I got quite a few responses but I took interest in speaking with him more to see how he could help and get a price quote. I am first going to say that I have dealt with some pretty hard headed, rude and inconsiderate movers in the past. It's made me skeptical of scandalous quotes/estimates, attitudes and behaviors so for me to feel comfortable and confident to even respond back to him says a lot. I feel more comfortable articulating information over email first because it's easier for me to gather thoughts and send valuable information needed to get an estimate. He was extremely quick and courteous to answer my emails. I explained my budget needs and financial strains and approached him with a flat rate price for the gig rather than per hour. Now, most companies would of not even responded back but Drew took my needs into consideration and offered me the BEST priced, even discounted it for me, out of all the price quotes/costs I was given from my ad. I also came to Yelp and noticed his great reviews which greatly influenced my decision to continue communicating with him about the gig. His schedule was also very flexible which is a huge bonus. In a nutshell, I was unable to get the gym equipment that I wanted (this had nothing to do with Drew's company) and so I am unable to use his services at the time. You may be reading this wondering why I would even bother reviewing him and his company. I will tell you why... There are times when you feel people have exceeding your expectations and have been polite, professional and considerate throughout the communication process. I am reviewing him for his wonderful customer service skills. Human kindness deserves appreciation and for that the least I could go is Yelp him and his company. I will be keeping his contact information if I ever need his assistance with moving or assembly. His incredible prices are also another huge incentive to use his services. Drew & team were of great help on our move. They were ontime, and moved fast but carefully throughout the 3 hours they helped out. They used furniture pads appropriately, and were patient with our new building as they worked out the kinks with the elevators, unloading area, etc. We did have one box get dropped accidentally during the move, and Drew was very up-front about the damage and quite apologetic. They ended up compensating us for the minor damage, which I appreciated. Drew was able to move me on black friday. Most movers were not able to accommodate me on this date. His rate was the most competitive in the bay area especially for a move to Sacramento. He moved me out of a 1 bedroom apartment in less than two hours. My only negative comment would be that many of my items with fabric came back with a scent of smoke. I can't say enough wonderful things about this team of movers!! They turned moving into a pleasure. They arrived on time and were very friendly and professional. They moved our things (including an 800 pound piano!) without so much as a scratch. They handled my sentimental antiques and electronic as if they were their own. I got a quote for 2 movers, but ovnly one showed up. When I told the person who I originally spoke to, he said "He can do the work of 2". No, he couldn't because it took 3 hours instead of 2 because he had to go upstairs to get things into my apartment. If there were actually 2 people, it wouldn't have taken that long. Because of that the mover charged me for 3 hours instead of 2 and an addition $50 because the distance from the truck to my door was more than 50ft. Something that wasn't explained to me beforehand. The mover also had an attitude. I asked him not to put the bin with my glasses and bowls in it at the bottom of the stack so that nothing got broken. His reply was he has been doing this for 6 years and he knew what we was doing. He then says that their insurance will cover whatever is broken. Everything is not replaceable. I looked in the truck and sure enough, the bin with my glasses in it was at the bottom. One of my wine glasses got broken and it was a gift from a friend that she made for me so I can't replace it. When I told him that it broke, his response was "it must have been the way that you packed it." I will definitely never use this company again. I ended up paying over twice what I was originally charged because when the mover finished, he charged me $350 which is over twice. When I noticed that I was over charged, I called and he cursed me out. I will never recommend them to anyone. read more

Had a small job scheduled this afternoon at 6:30pm, the appointment for which I made around noon today. I was told it wouldn't be an issue. I am in correspondence with an agent of the company as late as 4pm, so I assume everything is going to go according to plan. So 6:30pm rolls around, and I haven't seen or heard from anybody. I give them a call and speak with Drew, to be told that they weren't going to be able to make it because they got another job. I wish they would have told me at 4pm when I spoke to them last. This lack of communication is absolutely unacceptable. If you're going to agree to an appointment time, then honor it. There are a ton of companies I could have called, but I chose to go with Moving Help Bay Area because I mistakenly thought they would come through for me.
