You can't go wrong moving with Mark and A1 All American Moving! We hired them to pack us up and move us across town. Mark came out to give us a written estimate. I called another highly rated moving company on Yelp and they wouldn't do more than give me an estimate by phone! To top it off, the "other" firm told me that their phone quote might vary by 30%!!! A1's packers took better care of packing our items than we did! Three guys packed up our entire 3 bedroom house in less than 8 hours --- and we have a lot of crap! And the amazing thing - nothing -- I mean NOTHING arrived to our new home damaged! On moving day, Mark and his crew showed up right on time and ready to go. Our move took a little longer than I expected (quoted 8-9 hours and it took 10) but I'm sure that had to do with the 100 degree plus weather on moving day! They worked their bu**s off!!!! I am so impressed with Mark and when I first initiated the call, Mark immediately called me back unlike the other moving company I called, they never returned my call or email. Mark came by to see to assess how long it would take to move us, but the key furniture that needed much care was the wine credenza. It weights 600 lbs. without the wine. Mark and his crew took such great care by wrapping the credenza with moving blankets. Not a scratch. The move was such a breeze and would definitely hire Mark again. We used A-1 All-American to move in January 2009. When planning the move, we called several moving companies. Mark called back within 1 hour and enthusiastically explained their process, price, and willingness to help us. Some of the other moving companys took several days to call back, and their fees weren't as straightforward. Our crew included a Hispanic American, an Asian American, and a European American. I only mention this because an earlier review says they're all white- not true. Anyway, they all worked hard and took responsibility for their work, including all the details. I would definitely recommend A1 All-American. They took pride in doing the job right. The owner works and supervises the entire process, which provides better accountability when compared to moving companies that sub-contract their work. We hired Mark again to load up some storage cubes for a cross-country move. He gave us a great rate, and helped us out with some extra blankets and rope for the move. Mark apparently didn't want our business, but didn't bother to tell us so. I gave him the benefit of the doubt the first time he didn't call back. He did call back after a second message, and asked for detailed information such as our address and what kind of stuff we have. I told him and followed up with an email as he requested. He wrote back with one question, to which I replied, after which we never heard back from him again. He was supposed to get back to me on setting up a time to come out and provide a quote, but he didn't. This was a waste of my time, and I didn't appreciate having to provide personal information only to be ignored. I won't bother calling him again, nor will I recommend him to anyone. It's too bad he didn't just tell me outright that he wasn't interested. read more

Getting ready to move my 4500' house form Diablo to Alamo ,was going to use this service and found out this company doesn't have something called a puc permit ,so after contacting the puc(public utlity commission)it seems that this is an unlicenced company. After some more investigation I found out no licence , no workmans comp, no insurance and .If some one gets hurt on my move ,I could be liable .Sorry guys I'm gonna pay a little more and stick with a licenced moving company. read more

Mark and his crew did a wonderful job for my move yesterday. They were all super-friendly as well as quick and hard-working. Mark made sure everything was nicely wrapped as well as tied down in the truck to ensure that nothing moved during the 6.6 miles to my new home. He also made sure that when they were going up my windy staircase, that the banisters and carpets were adequately protected. Plus, he doesn't charge extra for blankets, straps, etc... Mark came and gave us an estimate. He came in exactly at his estimate and even offered to buy covers for our furniture for us. We did a short move but Mark and the other guy did it in a very short period of time. Mark does like to chat a bit but he seems to have done quite a bit with his life and is generally very good natured. We finished our move to storage in a few hours and Mark was also kind enough to help us drop a TV (super heavy) off at another location. If you use him, be sure to buy his crew lunch. He came in at half of some of our other estimates, but he doesn't have insurance so you want to make sure you pack things well- just in case. We didn't have any problems at all. He brought plenty of moving blankets. No damaged items and Mark is a magician at packing the truck to carry the max on each load which also saves you time and money. He was also accommodated our paranoid requests about how to handle certain fragile items/etc. without any complaints-- totally nice guy. Highly recommend. read more

What a great moving experience! Mark and his crew did an excellent job with completing my move from a townhome and putting everything into storage. They were careful, quick but thoughtful, and had great attitudes to what they were doing. I called Mark on Monday and he was able to do my move the very next day! He got all my information right and provided me with a price quote. I decided to go with them after talking to several other companies that weren't as professional as Mark. The guys who moved me were fantastic. They had a great attitude - and on my moving day that really helped. They worked very efficiently, they were professional, and they really cared about my stuff. They wrapped my couch to help it get through the door and wrapped other furniture in "blankets". They made my moving experience so easy I wanted to tell everyone. I highly recommend them.
