They also helped disassemble and re-assemble furniture and put everything exactly as we like. The communication was great and they are just great guys in general. We ultimately chose them over other movers also because during the consultation stage, they facetimed with us and discussed quotes after seeing our place during facetime. I think that's important because we had key items we wanted to make sure were safe and they could also see how much stuff we had and prepare the right amount of people and time. I really valued the thoroughness before the move and during the move. We have recommended them to all our friends and will use them for all future moves.

I hired Bay Area Furniture Assembly to assemble my home gym. The initial installation seemed to go…read moresmoothly, and I was satisfied when the technician left. Unfortunately, I discovered issues the first time I actually used the machine. The pulley system had been routed incorrectly in two places, causing the cables to twist, tangle, create excessive friction, and even go completely slack and off the track when the weight was removed. I immediately sent photos and videos showing the problem. We agreed that she would return at 7:00 PM to inspect and correct the issue. However, she did not show up at the agreed time and instead requested additional photos and videos that had already been provided. Based on the communication and tone, it became clear that returning to fix the issue was not a priority. Ultimately, I had to hire another service to correct the installation. They completely rerouted the pulley system and lubricated the moving parts, which resolved the stiffness and functionality problems. I informed Bay Area Furniture Assembly of this, but never received a response. I am disappointed with the level of customer service, especially considering the price paid. While the initial assembly appeared fine, the real test came when the equipment was put into use, and unfortunately the follow-up support and accountability were lacking. ----Follow Up Reply Thank you for your response. This will be my final response, and readers can do with this information what they will. Several statements in your response are inaccurate. You stated that no follow-up time was agreed upon. In writing, you suggested 7 PM and I agreed to that time. You stated there was no phone conversation. We spoke by phone for over five minutes regarding the issue. You stated that additional photos and videos were not provided. I documented the issue and communicated it as soon as it became apparent during actual use of the machine. I travel frequently for work, and although 12 days had passed since assembly, the machine had not yet been utilized. The issue was discovered the very first time I used it. It also makes little sense that I would voluntarily pay a second company to inspect and repair the machine if there had been no issue with the original setup. I requested no refund, no compensation, and made no demands. I simply needed a functioning machine and chose the quickest path to resolving the problem rather than continuing to troubleshoot. The second company corrected the pulley routing and made additional adjustments to ensure smooth operation. After their work, the stiffness, twisting, and slack cable issues were completely resolved. Whether that means the original assembly was incorrect or not, the fact remains that the machine did not function properly until another company corrected it. My review reflects not only the installation itself, but also the follow-up customer service and accountability afterward. I paid for a properly functioning machine and ultimately had to pay a second company to achieve that. I stand by my review and wish Bay Area Furniture Assembly the best going forward.

Some say you lose more money by turning in recycling by weight instead of per bottle but those like me who just need to recycle and get out right away, this is your place for good value in experience while doing a tedious task. After leaving this review, Ernest reached out to me to "make things right" to remove the review, but was just wasting more of my time. I told them I had to pay other movers to fix the mess they left because I couldn't move the heavy items Carquinez Moving Express just abandoned after taking thousands of dollars from me for a service they didn't complete. Angel acted like he was doing me a favor having to drive back and pick up the stuff they couldn't pack properly wit multiple men coming in and out of my house for over 12 hour - a one bedroom that I mostly packed already. Angel took a 2 hour break to get burgers for just himself (not his team, he yelled at them when they tried to take a break). I was charged for Angel's break. Ernest or Ernesto (he has two different last names too, for his scams) sent me text messages saying he would meet me to inspect the damages, I sent pictures of everything that was broken and what a terrible job Angel did. Ernest pretended to be apologetic and told me that Angel was incompetent and was fired but I have since learned they are a "family" business and obviously both in on the scam. When I try to arrange the inspection Ernest suggested, he suddenly had a lot of excuses and couldn't make it. I also did not get the refund they promised many times. I don't think they have insurance so they will not help you if anything goes wrong. Do not risk it. After they ruin your things, they will waste months of your time lying to you. They also changed their phone numbers. Finally Ernest said "Good luck getting your money back, we don't have any" and has been ignoring me . They took thousands of dollars from me and probably pawned my jewelry, so they definitely should have at least that to return to me I reported them to the authorities and they said it's a common scam for movers to load all your stuff and then demand more money, threatening not to unload if you don't pay them. This is the second time I have used Carquinez Moving in the past 2 months (see prior review). The first time was to load my truck for my out of state move. Ernest was very communicative, unlike the companies I had to fire or cancelled before I found them. I called on a Sunday and let them know that I needed a short notice move because the other company flaked out on me at the last minute. They were able to accommodate me by doing an after hours move on Monday night! They loaded the truck expertly, and Ernest, Angel, and the crew were efficient and careful. A couple of months later, my mother needed to move out of state (across 4 states) as well. She opted for Carquinez moving to do the wrapping, loading, driving, and unloading. She was very concerned about the process, and the care of her items. As it turned out, she was extremely pleased with the service she received. The only item that broke was a glass shelf that she packed herself....our fault...nothing that Carquinez Moving packed arrived damaged. They arrived on time, completed everything as contracted, and were $6,000 cheaper and 3 weeks faster than one of the national moving companies. No waiting for items to arrive, they came immediately. I highly recommend Carquinez Moving, and would gladly use them again. No matter how easy they were to work with, though, let's hope I don't have to move again for a while! A few reviews down, you see what looks the same people putting a negative review twice under two names (a day apart they suddenly went from 5 star to 1 star twice? C'mon). Then scroll down to the part that says there are additional reviews that are "not reccomended.." That just means the business is not paying Yelp to promote them. There are dozens of 5 star reviews over a year long. Choose who to believe. read more

I had a great experience with these movers they weren't late like my last movers and even took their time with my items. They were caring and I know the owner just changed out his crew to a whole new team and I was one of their first moves and they were very professional. Idk why Yelp thinks it's okay to take off my review as a customer after their wonderful service. They packed and even wrapped some items I didn't even think to myself!!! Great catch! These guys also told me to read their unrecommended reviews at the bottom. Before hiring them. How disgusting of Yelp to just remove all their great reviews and only leave all their less experience reviews. As a small business owner myself I hate Yelp for this reason. I had a very well experienced move from Carquinez Moving Express. I appreciated how Ernest and Angel took proper safety precaution by showing up to my home in masks. They had great communication skills, and most importantly they handled by belongings with great care. I had so much crap I was most certain it wasn't all going to fit in their truck. They sure proved me wrong. Their stacking of the truck was so amazing they filled every nook and cranny there was to fill with no available space left over. Ernest Sanchez just had a tantrum and started crying on the phone because he can't man up and accept responsibility for his partner damaging my things and stealing from me or bringing guys into my house that stole from me. Ernest or Ernesto or whatever his real name is promised he would refund my money on the phone but lied and is now claiming I have to talk to Angel Hernandez even though he set up the move and gave me the quote and then pretended to be the damage claims guy at the end. I had a great experience with this move team and so far have used them for two moves. One from south of San Francisco, CA to Idaho with two stops along the way--which is no easy feat to keep those deliveries straight and truck packed in the right order. I'll be contacting them with a similar advisory. In case moving isn't already stressful enough, Shane and Chris will add to your frustrations by showing up more than two hours late, and not bothering to let you know until 30 mins after they were supposed to start the job. I ask for a call or text when they're on their way (because I couldn't just wait around for them for two hours), and then they call once they're at the home. So I fly up to the house to meet them in less than 15 minutes to find they left to take their lunch break without any communication. When they did finally show up, they spent the entire 50 mins of work whining and complaining about the weight of my furniture and the tight packing of my POD (that was completed by real professionals). Repeatedly asked me if there was anything glass or breakable in boxes so they could just apathetically toss stuff around and carelessly arrange it. Uhhhh, how about you treat someone else's property like it's all fragile/breakable/important to the paying customer?!? What a profound concept. They didn't smartly arrange the space we had to store our property. If they weren't whining about the weight, they were whining that they had to make it all fit in a one car garage. Thankfully it won't be stored long, otherwise I'd be having to find new professionals to fix their mess. Finally, on the last piece of furniture, they decide to bust out a small dolly. It's not your customer's fault if you choose to do things unergonomically, unsafely, and irresponsibly. They then demanded that they still be paid in full despite their inability to follow through on our original agreement, putting me under a very stressful time crunch due to their excessive tardiness. They wanted to claim they'd cut me a deal for my future moving needs, but that is such a laughable prospect, I couldn't even bring myself to acknowledge such a ridiculous suggestion. Why would I ever ask for help from people who don't respect my time, my property, or my finances, and spent the whole 50 mins complaining about the job they were overpaid to do?? JOKES! Maybe they should take the more than double pay they didn't earn and invest in some professional equipment. Unfortunately, professionalism, courtesy, and the most basic level of service standards can't be purchased.

We were stumbling so badly that we caught the eye of some movers that just happened to be loading up a truck in front of our neighbors house. These movers saw 3 young ladies struggling with this table then proceeded to yell at us that we were "doing it wrong" in wonderful Irish accents. These 2 men stopped what they were doing to help us carry the table down our 12-step staircase with humorously begrudging flare while saying that we should leave a review in lieu of payment. I'm making good. Thank you, McMahon Movers for both helping us in our time of need while also making us feel like the helpless dummies we were--we're still chuckling about it.

The guys that loaded me up and unleaded the stuff were all fantastic people. Eduardo and his wife are super sweet and great to talk to. But, that does not a business make. Eduardo needs a manager until he is ready. As a fledgling business I wanted to give him my business, because he is young, hope-filled, and very conscious of his customer's needs. Still there were so many problems. HOWEVER, he got most of my stuff where it was supposed to be in one piece. And that counts for a lot. - He is not insured. - I specifically said I wanted my stuff in an enclosed truck and it arrived piled (yes, piled like a clown car) on the back of his pickup. If it rained... there would have been no way. - 8:30 time to show up, got started somewhere around 11 and finished about 2pm putting us 4 hours behind schedule - Was supposed to be delivered the next morning, arrived midnight the next day. - All ... ALL of our lamp shades were missing. They were old and in great condition and classic for the beautiful maps we have... (sigh) - would not answer any of the 3 texts I sent him in the following days as he and his wife remained in Las Vegas. Only showed up 5 days later to get his moving blankets and only came when I was not home. I was rooting for him whole heartedly. I tipped well. I wanted him to shine. But, it was not great. Not bad. My partner talked and we kinda gave up ever seeing the stuff at one point. But, glad he came through in the end. But, still kinda bummed.

Efficient and always in good humor these ladies were able to pack most of a 2400SF home in less than eight hours!
