I just wanted to update my review with Dr. Sully and Dr. Kimi. I decreased my frequency to coming once a week as my last recovery from post car accident and now me sitting at my desk has not been so much. But I chose to still keep seeing them for maintenance work since I lift weights and run on the regular. There's been times in the months where I skip 2 weeks and can tell the difference in how much my body needed to get readjusted. Now training for a LA marathon I asked Dr. Kimi how often should l be coming in to be adjusted. She said once a week should be good enough. Whether I was seeing Dr. Kimi or Dr. Sully both with their own strong techniques, they were always on point with my adjustments. Now being an avid weight lifter who's trying to run about 20miles a week took a toll on me. 2-3weeks into my training, my legs, knees and left ankle felt off. They were painful and felt super inflamed. Just to be safe I went to see a kaiser doctor and the doctor told me to just give up on my weight training and running altogether. That lifting weights is just a fad as it's not worth adding more muscle to my body and it would make my knees worse. I was diagnosed with achilles tendinitis with my left foot, plantar fasciitis on both feet because I am mostly flat footed and osteoarthritis in the knees. I felt that my world was crushed and that I felt so stuck in what to do next other than take prescribed pain medications from kaiser. I felt wronged, sure the medication helped me... but I wanted a second opinion. When I got to see Dr. Sully, he assessed and reassured me that M.D.'s are good for prescribing medications based on what they know. From a chiropractor perspective, my muscles are just overworked and that I need to take the time to stretch, roll and as necessary decrease my load training. So he gave me some best practices with foam rolling and how to stretch with my quads and my shins. He guaranteed me that if I take the time to stretch and roll prior and post my workout it will so much a difference. I took this advice and maintained my appointments to coming in once a week. Two weeks with no running, I continued to lift weights, and added yoga and biking into the mix. Then finally I completed 20miles of running in one week alone with no pain whatsoever. So I want to take this moment to recognize the amazing advice and support I got from Dr. Sully and Dr. Kimi. They didn't give up on me and continue to tell me I am making amazing progress with my training and my weight loss. I learned the hard way, but stretching and foam rolling are as important as to running and lifting weights. Despite being told by friends and family to always stretch, these two doctors... especially Dr. Sully helped pushed me to stretch/roll longer for myself so I can continue to enjoy my running and weight lift training. read more

Amazing experience from walking into the office to the end. The office is beautifully designed. The open concept gives it a home feel, but there's are private rooms if you want the privacy. Dr. Truong and Dr. Ma take x-rays in the office, which is a great one-stop shop. I appreciate them taking x-rays to really see what's going on with your spine. They have an amazing and warm presence to them and really take the time to listen to what brought you in. I felt heard and safe. I highly recommend them as your chiropractors! read more

My experience at Movement Lab was world class! It was a different experience compared to previous times where I've seen chiropractors. From the moment I walked in, Dr. Sully greeted me with a warm welcoming smile and explained the process clearly & concisely. There was never any pressure or sales pitch. Movement Lab's office feels inviting, clean, and not sterile like doctor's offices. I noticed how relaxed other clients were as they were being adjusted. This is a positive sign when I see satisfied clients! It felt like a safe and relaxed family environment. Dr. Kimi explained my X-Rays and pinpointed areas of tension. It was a very comfortable and pain free process as she adjusted me. Dr. Kimi took the time to explain what parts & why she was targeting them as she adjusted me. Her voice was soothing and put me at ease; I almost fell asleep. 10/10 would recommend! Drs. Sully and Kimi are the best, knowledgeable, and personable! read more

If you care about your health and wellness, do yourself a favor and go to Movement Lab. As I've gotten older, I'm starting to realize that when you see a healthcare professional because something hurts, it's usually too late and you now need to put in more work to fix it. I've now made it a priority to listen to my body and give it tune-ups before something breaks so I went to Movement Lab due to my body feeling stiff. Nothing was really in pain, just a little bit ache-y, but I attributed that to my workout from the day before. I've gone to see chiropractors in the past, but I've never had an experience as thorough as this. After a brief questionnaire, Dr. Ma went right into doing a series of tests, which were a little bit mind blowing. And then she took a series of X Rays which blew my mind a little bit more. The stiffness and aches I've been feeling? Yeah, I found out I have 2 slight curves in my back and so my muscles are overcompensating for it. I now understand why I have neck tension and get headaches. It was validation for everything I'd been feeling for YEARS. I wasted so many hours trying to find solutions on the internet, only to be steered in the wrong direction with no improvement. I've done the stretching, the trigger point massages, the physical therapy, but nothing was as effective as an adjustment. The three things I love the most about Movement Lab is that: 1. They don't prescribe you medicine to get over your issues. They get to the root of it and help you fix it. They even have a separate area that serves as a rehabilitation area so you can also get physical therapy. 2. There's no judgment. If you hurt your back while simply breathing, they don't laugh or make you feel less than. 3. Dr. Ma and Dr. Truong really care about their patients and are so passionate about what they do. You can tell they are just as invested in your health as you are, maybe even more so! The ONLY negative I have to say about this place is that it's not in Los Angeles! I came here while I had some free time during a trip to the bay, but I'll be sure to come back whenever I'm in town! read more

If you are looking for a great chiropractor in the East Bay, look no further! Dr. Sullivan Truong and Dr. Kimi Ma will provide you with the best service around! They are able to take x-rays in house and use those to ensure they are providing you with the customized care your body needs. They use easy-to-understand language to explain why they are adjusting specific areas and what I can do as a patient to reduce further damage in the future. They are very approachable and knowledgeable, so I'm not afraid to them ask questions about adjustments/postures/xrays/etc., as they always provide kind and thorough advice. Their office layout is very aesthetic and clean; I love their info posters and stretching area. The office is open concept, but they have individual patient rooms for privacy as well. And having plants in the office is an added bonus! read more

The Movement Lab team Dr Kimi & Dr Sully both go above and beyond with their care. Both Dr are super caring not just in their specialties of field but also will get to know each patient that comes into their office. I've had such a wonderful experience with them through out my care and their adjustments aren't just about what they see from your X-rays. The Team here is fantastic. I was impressed with the knowledge of both Dr. Kimi and Dr. Sully. Dr. kimi clearly explained the process. She showed me her own neck x-Ray and explained her alignment compared to the ideal neck alignment. I have degenerative neck disease with bone spurs pinching on a nerve. Using a neck model, she explained how my neck was impacting my nerves. For the last six months, I've seen an orthopedic and a physical therapist- she's the first one that clearly explained to me this disease. In this first short visit, she also taught me how to properly sleep using the pillo- pillow. Dr. Sully advised me to use ice instead of heat for relief. I'm looking forward to further visits with this team. In addition the lab is beautiful and impeccably clean. Love that both doctors were masked! read more
