I found Dr. Asturias through Yelp and I'm so glad I did! He clearly has deep expertise in breaking down scar tissue to promote healing. Over the past 4-5 weeks, I've had 7-8 sessions with him. Each one starts with wrist adjustments and stretching, followed by Graston therapy to break up scar tissue and improve circulation, and ends with light therapy to accelerate healing. I won't lie--each session is painful (feels like torture at times!), but I see noticeable results within a day or two. When I first saw him, I couldn't even push press a 10lb dumbbell or squat because I couldn't bend my wrist back. Also, I was feeling immense pain at the base of the palm with any contact. After just a few sessions, I was pressing my pre-surgery weight and squatting again without pain. Dr. Asturias is incredibly skilled, thorough, and down to earth--super easy to talk to and makes the whole process efficient. Making appointments is a breeze--everything is done through their online portal, which makes it super easy to schedule or reschedule as needed. My wrist is almost fully recovered now, but I continue to go back because I keep seeing incremental gains after each visit. Highly recommend him if you're recovering from surgery or dealing with stubborn scar tissue!

"A+ Quality, Friendly Staff"…read more For my next visit to Dr Bell, I decided to break my shoulder. Well, okay, not really broken-- the usual rotator cuff injury. The doctor described the tendons as "shredded." This was not exactly the adjective I was hoping for, and surgery was required. The surgery was uneventful, and took place right across the street at Hacienda Surgery Center. On my next visit to the doctor he provided color photos of my surgery. It's sort of like doing selfies, except you're unconscious. Several weeks later, I was in the capable hands of the onsite physical therapist, Mark Snyder, assisted by his capable assistant. Karen. These folks are excellent-- professional, as well as friendly. I sometimes call Mark, "Mr.Pain." It was originally, "Dr. Pain," but he reminded me he was not yet a doctor. I don't know why I came up with that nickname for Mark. During physical therapy, whilst icing my shoulder, the PT team allows me to watch the TV show, "Sherri." This is part of Mark's therapy, and provided at no extra charge. I am always pleased with the proficiency professionalism and courtesy of the great staff here. A top tier medical practice happens neither easily or quickly. Doctor Bell is a very capable surgeon. I would not go anywhere else. But please don't tell the physical therapist that I call him Mr.Pain. That nickname might be misinterpreted , and they might cut me off from the "Sherri" TV show.

DON'T waste your time waiting for authorization to go through, go to someone else as this clinic will tell you they will process the authorization and have you wait for their call. WELL, today I got a call from their office with no message left, so I returned their phone call just to find out this doctor declined the referral without reason. It sounds to me this office is not very professional and likes to waste other people's time. If you are going to declined someone, you can simply tell them over a voicemail or email. Instead you have them call you back and waste everyone's time to simply get a "No, he will not accept your referral". Life is difficult and these are the people that makes it even harder for people. Especially with people who are already injured and just seeking treatment. I will highly not recommend to anyone who is injured. Perhaps they only take on patients that have good insurance policy that will be a nice amount of money to get treated.

Later, I received another bill for $130 instead. The bill was sent through Privia, and every time I call, they say they can't look into the details of the charges. On top of that, there's another $30 charge that I have no idea what it's for. My last visit was six months ago, and I've already paid all my previous bills. It's ridiculous that they keep adding new charges without explanation.

This review is for Steven Liu. If I could give a negative 5…read moreI would. Dr. Liu was rude, unprofessional and condescending. He was unprepared for my appointment and kept claiming that images Tri-Valley Orthopedic already has in their system were not there. I knew for a fact my relevant images were already in their system as well as a relevant report. However, Dr. Liu told me in a very condescending tone, "I know you WANT the images to be there (in their system) but talking more won't make them be there." So when it was clear Dr. Liu wasn't going to help me I ended up speaking with a very kind and helpful person at the front office on my way out who promptly located the images and report. All the office staff present were very helpful. But this was after Dr. Liu had already wasted time being argumentative about the matter. Dr. Liu was brushing me off due to his own incompetence and that of his medical assistant in bothering to locate what took just a moment for a front office person to find. Additionally, he was only going to look at one body part, with zero interest in even trying to track down whether my pain is referred or due to an issue at the site of pain itself. He never even came into the medical room where I was waiting to see him for my appointment. I ended up having to go into the hallway to try to speak with him and to try to help him and his medical assistant to locate those particular images/report. Dr. Liu had no concern for my well-being at all. He seemed in a hurry to simply move on to another patient with doing nothing at all to even try to help me. I waited months for this appointment. Unfortunately another Dr. in the practice who I'd seen previously who is very professional had told me that Dr. Liu would find a way to help me even if I wasn't able to do a cervical MRI, which I tried twice to do. Unfortunately that Dr. was mistaken and Dr. Liu wouldn't even look at my X-rays in liu of the MRI images he and his medical assistant were too incompetent to locate in their own system, despite being easy to find by a very helpful and kind person in the front office. His medical assistant appeared bored and as though she couldn't be bothered to do her job. She also clearly looked confused by the correct medical terminology I was using when trying to explain where I hurt. This whole ordeal was such a waste of my time and that of my friend who accompanied me. She was equally appalled and put off by Steven Liu's behavior and lack of professionalism. I can't express enough how much I wish I'd never bothered to pursue medical care from Dr. Liu. I'm still left in severe pain which I've been navigating for just over two years. If I could bill Dr. Liu for my wasted time and energy I would. Negative Five Stars.

I just wanted to update my review with Dr. Sully and Dr. Kimi…read more I decreased my frequency to coming once a week as my last recovery from post car accident and now me sitting at my desk has not been so much. But I chose to still keep seeing them for maintenance work since I lift weights and run on the regular. There's been times in the months where I skip 2 weeks and can tell the difference in how much my body needed to get readjusted. Now training for a LA marathon I asked Dr. Kimi how often should l be coming in to be adjusted. She said once a week should be good enough. Whether I was seeing Dr. Kimi or Dr. Sully both with their own strong techniques, they were always on point with my adjustments. Now being an avid weight lifter who's trying to run about 20miles a week took a toll on me. 2-3weeks into my training, my legs, knees and left ankle felt off. They were painful and felt super inflamed. Just to be safe I went to see a kaiser doctor and the doctor told me to just give up on my weight training and running altogether. That lifting weights is just a fad as it's not worth adding more muscle to my body and it would make my knees worse. I was diagnosed with achilles tendinitis with my left foot, plantar fasciitis on both feet because I am mostly flat footed and osteoarthritis in the knees. I felt that my world was crushed and that I felt so stuck in what to do next other than take prescribed pain medications from kaiser. I felt wronged, sure the medication helped me... but I wanted a second opinion. When I got to see Dr. Sully, he assessed and reassured me that M.D.'s are good for prescribing medications based on what they know. From a chiropractor perspective, my muscles are just overworked and that I need to take the time to stretch, roll and as necessary decrease my load training. So he gave me some best practices with foam rolling and how to stretch with my quads and my shins. He guaranteed me that if I take the time to stretch and roll prior and post my workout it will so much a difference. I took this advice and maintained my appointments to coming in once a week. Two weeks with no running, I continued to lift weights, and added yoga and biking into the mix. Then finally I completed 20miles of running in one week alone with no pain whatsoever. So I want to take this moment to recognize the amazing advice and support I got from Dr. Sully and Dr. Kimi. They didn't give up on me and continue to tell me I am making amazing progress with my training and my weight loss. I learned the hard way, but stretching and foam rolling are as important as to running and lifting weights. Despite being told by friends and family to always stretch, these two doctors... especially Dr. Sully helped pushed me to stretch/roll longer for myself so I can continue to enjoy my running and weight lift training.
